    Can you reset a module and it work w/ undeployed airbags removed at a puck and pull ie used. Not iriginal?

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 9 měsíci

      It is best to send the original airbag control module for reset. Because it's original and already VIN programmed to your vehicle. If you have a replacement part, you need to first check that the part number is the same. If your vehicle was in an accident/collision, you can send original airbag control module to be reset. Its better this way, because it will be plug n play. Also, if your seat belts are bad/stuck/locked you can send them for repair as well. Check out myairbags.com

    Great vedio thank u.
    Does the new module need programming ?can it done using autel mx 808 scan tool ? What is the device u recommended to programming air bag modules

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 5 lety

      Haitham,
      On the Malibu, If you are putting in a module that is not original to the car, you will probably need to get it programmed into the car. Theres a few different scanners that can program the module. For Malibu - GM Tech2 usually works the best.
      If the car was in an accident, we can reset the original module that is in your car. This way, you don't have to do any additional programming when you get it back from us.
      Thanks for your question!

    Thanks Eli - Does the side curtain airbag use the same module? Just the drivers-side side curtain airbag deployed. Anything special to note about that (2016 Chevrolet Malibu)? Thanks for your expertise. Chuck in NE Kansas

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 5 lety

      Hey Chuck, Yes, the side curtain airbag does use the same airbag module. Theres just one airbag computer for the entire vehicle. Chevy refers to the airbag module as a SDM or DERM unit. Check the two front seat belts. Usually both will deploy. We're happy to help if you need any more info. Thanks for commenting!

    2017 Malibu. Hit a pole. Driver steering wheel bag and drivers knee bag went off. I have good used bags. Besides removing and replacing the bags, what programming wise do I need to do and is there any other parts I need to replace besides the 2 air bags?

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před rokem

      Yes this vehicle has one airbag control module. Also check the seat belts to make sure they are good. We do reset airbag control modules and rebuild seat belts. See our site for more info www.myairbags.com

    Thanks for the info, is the module in the same location on the 2016 chevy Malibu LTZ old style?

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 5 lety

      Olagoke, The 2016 should have the same interior as this 2018. If you're referring to the older 2015, then yes the interior would be different. The module may be slightly in a difference position but its under the center console, bolted to the floor just like this video. The module will also look the same as the one you see in this video. Let us know what you find....

      @@MyAirbags Thanks guys, sure it's the carryover style (2015) body shape. I'll take a look and keep you posted. Also a quick question, can the module be reset if the curtain airbag and the wheel airbag are deployed after replacing them?

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 5 lety

      Olakoge, Yes we can absolutely reset the airbag computer module (SDM / DERM) unit. Once you have it removed you can just send it. We only need 24 hours or less with the unit before we ship it right back. MyAirbags.com - Heres the link: www.myairbags.com/product-category/repair-return/airbag-module-reset/

    Why is my airbag light still on even after replacing my airbags and resetting the Module

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 6 měsíci

      It could be a bad connection somewhere or one of the components are still bad, such as seat belt, impact sensor, airbag. Check here: blog.myairbags.com/i-received-my-airbag-module-back-and-the-airbag-light-is-still-on-what-do-i-do
