    Hi Eli: I have a plain 2017 Elantra with phone call buttons and volume rocker left on the helm. To the right of the helm only have the Trip button and the Reset button Trip . If I want to change the helm to the Elantra Turbo version that has other additional buttons like cruise button, what would I need to make these changes? Greettings from Panama City 🇵🇦

      Frank Baker,
      Thank you for the question. The removal process will be pretty much the same. The only difference is you will have more electric wires / plugs to unplug from beneath the console.

    I have a 2004 Hyundai Elantra and it was in a minor accident but the Airbag and Seatbelt pre tensioner deployed. I have replaced both the Seatbelt and the Airbag but the Air Bag light on the dash remains on. When tested it is showing, "Airbag open circuit". Do I need to replace the Module to eliminate the problem? I am in Australia and as much as I would like to send the module to you guys, if needed, to repair and or reset this is not an option for obvious reasons.

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 5 lety

      Chris - Lena Cahill, You're on the right track! Now with term "Airbag open circuit" that just means theres still a bad part or connection issue at one of the components. The question is where? When you got it tested, did the scanner / scan tool give you a certain code #?

    Hi there. I have an elantra 2012 and the airbag light is on, the dealership scanned it and showed three different codes. B2500, B1493, B1481. Is it to bad?

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 5 lety +2

      Leandro Garcia,
      1 - code B2500 = Inflatable restraint system indicator circuit
      -The first step is check the fuse for this system which is listed as Fuse 3 , if that is good the next step would be to inspect the light bulb for the air bag warning light and replace the bulb if necessary.
      2 - code B1493 = PODS (Passenger Occupant Detecting System) Communication error
      -SRSCM receives passenger occupant detection signal which includes passenger weight class from WCS. SRSCM controls Telltail lamp and passenger airbag whether deploy it or not according to passenger weight class. SRSCM periodically receives passenger occupant information. If SRSCM receives communication error or Fault information, SRSCM turns on Airbag warning light and sets DTC.
      3 - code B1481 = 2nd Stage Driver Airbag Resistance Too High Read
      -Possible causes:
      a - Faulty Driver Airbag
      b - Driver Airbag harness is open or shorted
      c - Driver Airbag circuit poor electrical connection
      d - Faulty Clockspring
      e - Faulty Supplemental Restraints System Control Module (SRSCM)
      The reset we provide is more "after-accident" modules where module just needs to be cleared of codes. If you were to send in your module, we would be able to clear of it all codes, but, because these are active issues in other parts of the airbag system, these codes would just come back. They will only clear out once you have corrected all 3 trouble codes / components.

    have 2013 elantra and the airbag light is on but the car never got in an accident. A guy ran a diagnostics and he said that there is pressure on the sensor

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 5 lety +1

      @abo taahir It looks like he may have ran diagnostics on a different system in the car. You will need to get the airbag system scanned by a scan tool that plugs right into the OBD port. (OBD plug in is located below the steering wheel) When you get the car scanned for airbag codes, you are welcome to reply here and let me know what code you are getting?

    For short circuit to ground in the anchor pretensioner, where is the correct place to look? At the module?

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před rokem

      The easiest place to check is at the seat belt pretensioner itself to see if it good or bad. Good seat belt would give you a reading between 2 - 3 OHMs

    Hi My Air Bags, ... well, I have a 2011 Hyundai Elantra GLS. My airbag indicator on the dash turned on occasionally and sometimes went off by itself. But not it turns on and stays on and does not go off. I have not been in an accident. It has been bothering me a lot these days. Any idea what it could be?

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 4 lety

      Hi Aaron,
      The first step is to diagnose the airbag light. Hook up the scan tool / scanner to the car and read the airbag codes. You connect the scan tool right into the OBD port/plug. Its usually located below the steering wheel, on the left.

    Hello,
    I have an elantra 2014 , the airbag light goes on and off mostly when i move the steering wheel too much right and left... what could be the cause?
    Thank you

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 5 lety

      Hi! Thanks for commenting! It sounds like it could be a bad connection in the driver steering wheel airbag. There a lot going on behind the airbag. Most likely the clockspring it self or the clockspring plug going from the clockspring to the airbag. This is just a guess.
      Best way to find out for sure is to wait until the light comes on, during this time have the airbag system scanned with a scan tool. The scanner will read out the code that will allow you to know exactly where the problem is.
      When you end up finding out what the issue was, would you please reply back to us here? I'm sure theres plenty of other people with the same issue that could use your input.

      Justin, the 2003 model will probably be pretty different as far removal steps but the actual should location should be about same. Its under the center console on the floor, or under the radio console, on the floor. Please share with your findings with us! Thanks

      Code B1748 for HYUNDAI is: Pressure-Side Impact Sensor Front Passenger Communication Error.

      Faulty Pressure-Side Impact Sensor
