    Hello. I have a 2012 VW Passat SE. I replaced the driver seat because it had tears in the leather. I made the mistake of swapping the seats out without disconnecting the battery and had the radio on when I did it. I also moved my car from the street to my driveway with the seat not in the car. I then installed the new seat which works fine but the airbag light now stays on. The screen says “Error: Airbag” Do you know how I can fix this? Thank you!

      Wavy,
      The first step is to diagnose the airbag light. Hook up the scan tool / scanner to the car and read the airbag codes. You connect the scan tool right into the OBD port/plug. Its usually located below the steering wheel, on the left.
      When you read the trouble code you can always reply to us here and we can help you narrow down the issue.

      My Airbags perfect, I will do that. I’ve ordered a scanner and will have it in a couple of days and I will update you here. Thank you so much!

    My car has never been in an accident by the wife left a water bottle on the passenger side and it spilled on the seat. I'm not sure if there was a shortage due to this but the airbag light came on and won't go away. I forgot what part the dealer stated it needed but they wanted $750. Do you know if this is something this might fix?

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 4 lety

      Hi Gabriel, I would like to know what part they said you need. If module is damaged by water, we recommend to get a replacement. You will need to look at the part number on your module. By that part number, you can find and order the exact, correct replacement for your car. We do carry a large stock of good, used modules here: www.myairbags.com/product-category/parts-in-stock-ready-to-ship/

    For dual stage seat belt, do you ship international with regards to the gas cylinder? Is it legal to ship this?

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 5 lety

      @Super Viictor, thats actually an excellent question. Thank you. With seat belts, we are legally obligated to ship hazmat (the same way airbags have to ship). So just for SEAT BELTS ONLY - we ship With Hazmat Currently to Canada and lower 48 US states. This is just for seat belts. As for module reset service and all other electronics, we can ship them domestic and international. Feel free to reach out to us if we can help: www.myairbags.com/

    I am getting an hard error on my 2012 Jetta GLi B200009. When researched they are suggesting that I replace the Air Bag Control Module. My question is have you guys dealt with that code and have been able to rebuild the module instead of me buying it brand new?

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 4 lety

      Silvio, the reset service is beneficial for post-accident vehicles. You won't benefit from the reset service unless the car was involved in an accident. If the module went bad on its own, we recommend replacement. We do have a large stock of used modules. If you need a replacement module, enter the part number of the module here to check if its in stock: www.myairbags.com/product-category/parts-in-stock-ready-to-ship/airbag-control-modules-ready-to-ship/

    Is servicing seatbelt tensioners after accident/Airbag deployment less expensive and more economical than replacement?
    Also, if airbag deploys during front impact accident, does that mandate replace of clock spring?
    I have a 2012 VW Passat SE. 2.5 5 cyl recently involved in accident collision.

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 4 lety

      Carmelo,
      In most cars, there is a HUGE difference in cost between brand new from dealership and using professional, licensed company to service the originals. You can check with the dealership for correct replacements and check our prices to compare. Heres the link to our seat belt section: www.myairbags.com/product-category/repair-return/seat-belt-repair/
      Clocksprings. We have a very economical fix for these that we can simply send for you to do yourself. Clock springs usually will go bad as a result of the front driver airbag deployment. Not always, but very likely. You can tell just by looking at the PLUGS from the clock springs. They melt. Most of our customer find that the clock spring itself IS NOT BAD, just plugs so they will order clock springs from $7.99 - $39 on our site. You check to see which ones you need for your car here: www.myairbags.com/product-category/parts-in-stock-ready-to-ship/airbag-seat-belt-plugs/
      Thanks for your questions. Please write us more comments if you have more questions for just feedback :)

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 4 lety

      Shukri,
      If the car was in an accident, we recommend getting your original module reset so you don't have to worry about programming the new/used module to the car. If are using a replacement, first make sure the part number on your original and the replacement is exactly the same. Then you may additionally need to program the new/used replacement module to your car. This is done on the car with a scanner. To avoid all that, our customers prefer to just send in their original modules and have them reset.

    Hi my airbag light came on VW Passat 2014 it was involved in driver door accident no airbag deployed. I replaced the door. I don't remember if the airbag light was on then but I also had a issue with my seatbelt not latching and after poking around inside the buckle it finally latched. But when I shake the latch I can hear something moving around inside. So do you think it may be the new door, a sensor in the seatbelt move around or do i need to reset the air bag module? If I would be able to scan the car and get a code would it help me in finding the issue? Thanks would appreciate a response as I would totally reset module with you guys if neccessary

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 3 lety

      Julio, thanks for your question! Yes, the first thing to do when the light comes on is run diagnostics on the airbag system using a scan tool / scanner. It will give you a trouble code indicating the issue. You can always reply to us here and we can help translate the code if needed.
      Thanks!

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  Před 3 lety

      @@Duijp If that was the problem, it would just be a fault code, in which case the light should turn off on its own. If the light remains on run diagnostic.
