    What do you think about TWO GR YARIS playing around with a Beetle around the Nordschleife ?

      I don't know the setup of the Yaris in front, maybe you could have passed but taking big risks. That's okay, you're always the best with the stock.

      Grip mecânico muito forte! Tenho um vídeo muito giro ainda para vir. O meu passageiro, um piloto profissional, vira-se e diz "vamos brincar com aquele i30N" 🤭

    Do you plan to do any more mods to your Yaris?

      @GreatMotors  Před 10 měsíci

      I have a booking with the mechanic to add some additional cooling to the car. Bigger intercooler, and an additional oil cooler. Dynamically I think I am adding some stiffer and adjustable anti roll bars.

    Sempre a partir para não variar! ❤ Só uma pequena questão... Quais são os melhores pneus! Os Cup 2 da Michelin ou os A052 da Yokohama?

    • @GreatMotors
      @GreatMotors  Před 10 měsíci +2

      Obrigado ✌️. Pergunta difícil de responder sem comparar "back to back". Ter também em conta que os Yokohama custam 200€ por pneu, para 150€ por pneu para os Cup2.
      Primeiro o inesperado. Depois da minha primeira volta nos A052 começou a chover forte. Fiz uma volta com a pista completamente molhada e o grip foi doente, confiança extrema em ambos grip lateral a curvar e longitudinal a travar. No meu regresso a casa caiu uma daquelas trovoadas de verão, e de novo os pneus inspiraram muita confiança. Definitivamente melhor que os Cup2, e eu ousaria dizer melhor que os PS4S (possivelmente mais grip com a estrada molhada, mas menor resistência ao aqua planning).
      No seco:
      Os pneus tinham grip logo desde o início. Grande diferença comparados com os cup2 que demoram um bocado a ficarem quentes e a atingirem o grip máximo.
      A inserção em curva é mais afincada que os cup2, muito possivelmente devido ao talão lateral mais rijo. Por vezes isto fazia com que a traseira tivesse menos segura, algo talvez a colmatar com um diferente acerto na suspensão.
      Tive que tirar bastante mais ar dos pneus quando comparado com o que faço normalmente nos cup2. Quando o fiz as pressões mantiveram-se estáveis para o resto do dia.
      Os A052 ganham mais temperatura que os Cup2. Duas voltas rápidas depois de uma longa paragem e já estavam a chegar aos 80°C. Nunca senti o grip a reduzir por overheat (so devido a demasiada pressão) o que marca uma diferença em relação aos Cup2 onde se nota uma queda acentuada quando sobre aquecem. No final pareceram mais resistentes ao calor.
      No fim pareceram superiores em grip aos Cup2 mas é difícil de dizer a 100% sem os testar no mesmo dia em condições.
      Fiz 10 voltas no total, não vi uma diferença grande em termos de uso para aquilo que eu esperaria de uns cup2 se tivessem sofrido o mesmo tratamento

      @billg26 Před 10 měsíci

      @@GreatMotors então possivelmente são superiores aos Cup 2 mas a relação custo-benefício mesmo assim não é vantajosa em relação aos Cup2. Obrigado pela resposta bem fundamentada! Abraço.

      Full mods are in the video description. In general the normal track worthy updates: Pads, fluid and brake lines and suspension and tires. 👍

    How does the Yokohama A052 compare to the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyre?

    • @GreatMotors
      @GreatMotors  Před 10 měsíci

      First the unexpected. After my first lap it started to rain. Did a lap in the full wet with them and the grip was crazy, extremely confidence inspiring both lateral grip and breaking. On my way home I got one of those sudden summer thunderstorms with rain, and there again extremely high confidence (and grip). Definitly a much stronger rain tire than a cup2, and I would dare say than a PS4S (possibly more grip on a wet surface but smaller resistance to aqua planning).
      In the dry:
      They had grip right out of the gate. Huge difference compared with the cup2s that take a while to get warm and reach max grip.
      Turn in was more assertive than with the cup2, much much stiffer sidewall. Which I think at times might have contributed for the rear to feel slightly less planted but something that I am sure I can adjust with suspension settings to accommodate for the smaller flex in the tire.
      I had to take significantly more air out of them as I have to normally do it with the cup2. Once I did, the pressures were kept for the rest of the day.
      They get more temperature than the Cup2. Two fast laps after a long stop time and the tires were touching 80C. I never felt a grip fall-off as I do with the Cup2s when they overheat. Felt more heat resistant.
      Overall grip level felt superior to the Cup2 but it's hard to assert without doing back to back testing. Areas where I go flat on the cups, I went flat with the A052.
      I did 10 laps with the tires, I don't see a big difference in wear from what I would expect from a set of cup 2 that suffered the same treatment.
