I guess flat-shifting isn't a well-known technique. I apologise if you are upset by how I conducted this acceleration test. 🙏
As for proof, unfortunately I don't have access to the VBOX data and didn't have a second camera to record the test but the results are published in the January 2022 issue of CAR.

For everyone that complains about him putting stress on the engine - the most important thing for an engine is the supply of oil and the right amount of coolant. If everything is lubricated and optimally cooled at all times, you should have no issue of direct metal to metal contact breaking something in your engine. Of course everything has to be at optimal temperature to drive hard. Going into redline translates into the risk of the oil film breaking, or the engine overheating in some places, resulting in potentially breaking components. If you do it responsibly and not all of the time, you are fine. It is also not good to not stress an engine and always leave it under 3000 RPM. Residue will start to form and keeps piling up, blocking your valves which can result in misfire and at worst engine failure. Make sure to give your engine 3000 - 4000 RPM occasionally when it is at optimal temperature.

I didn’t get it, flat shifting is that bad for the car? The engine redline a little bit and the clutch slips, what is *that* wrong?
What I know that kill the car is, no oil changes, no preventive maintenance and negligence… now, redline and clutch slip?
Bruh, if you can’t redline neither slip, the car is in bad conditions already.

Yeah, if your Miata is reaching sub 5 second 0-60's it's definitely not stock lol. You should probably time yourself though. Might not be as fast as you think. The current gen claims just under 6 seconds 0-60, so... yeah. Speaks for itself I'd imagine.
