  • Squeezing sweet sorghum cane in 2011 with a group of friends from the Montgomery County (MO) Old Threshers. This is our first attempt at making sorghum syrup. The mill/press is a Cook Superior No 30. It is horse pulled, but my horse has wheels. We squeezed about 40 gallons of raw juice in around 6-7 hours. Sorry, I didn't have a chance to video the cooking process.

    Thanks, I have a mill like this but it was rigged up to run on belt power by the time we got it. In fact I've never seen how it's suppose to be put together. Thanks for putting this on there.

    That's funny how instead of a horse running it it's a wheel horse lol.
