I always loved the Trophy Bonded Bear Claw and had used with great results but after seeing a video on sub-optimal expansion on a CZcams in ballistic gelatin with a 6.5 CM, was a little leery. This shows very different results, more what I would have expected. Thanks for a well done evaluation
I really like your platform for testing. It's just water, which is a very tough medium at high velocities, but at the different distances it shows the results we really want to see. Thank you.
I just learned of these bullets and this was a great video review! Thanks! I'll be looking to develop a load for next year (too late for this elk season). This year I'm trying the Sierra Gamechanger. Very curious to see how they compare.
TY for doing this test! Others either don't state the range or are shooting at 30-50 yards. Much more realistic tests you have run here. Seriously appreciate the work. Exceptional work on the expansion and weight retention. Stellar and supremely useful. Ty again!!!
Hey Guys,,, great tesing these are indeed an amazing hunting bullet.. one thing I'd like to point out is that bullet manufacturers are FAMOUS for exaggerating bullet BC's especially on hunting bullets where the hunting type are far less likely to call them out on it.. Saying that , these bullet WILL not match an SMK for drops ect.. So re-check that data if your handloading
Amazing video. So many guys do gel and expansion tests at 20ish yards...which is only good to see if the bullet is going to explode at close ranges. Cheers
I can only guess that's what the bullet looked like after going through 3.5ft of bull elk before exiting and kicking up snow 50yds the other side of the elk. The bull was shot at 200yds. He went straight down on his nose and slid down the hill, never twitched a muscle!
Debating on using these in a 16” 308 AR 10 for some deer hunting. Been looking at different bullets to reach out to 400 yards. So far I’m thinking just using the American white tail. Would love to see you do a test on those. Thanks for sharing!!
I just purchased some of these for upcoming spring bear hunt , what twist rate is your rifle ? I have a Browning BLR 81 with I think 1/11 or 1/12 hopefully it will stabilize them. Thanks for the video
Those look great. I wouldn't hesitate to go elk hunting with those in my .308. I like Hornady Super Shock Tips(SST) bullets for whitetail. They open up quick and jelly the insides.
I used the 165 gr SST in a 308 on deer, it didn't "jelly" the insides like you say. Maybe the 150 gr would do better but I have been disappointed in SST'S in other calibers already, so I won't be rushing to try it. I am going to try out this terminal ascent hunting this fall.
Nah this is one of our oldest videos, in our earlier vids we didn't include it till some people asked us to. All our newer ones include estimated impact velocities though!
The terminal ascent has to be the best hunting bullet design available right now. Combines weight retention, expansion at various ranges, Great B.C.'s into one. Im an accubond guy, but technically I think this is a better design. Not sure it really will outperform an accubond in a meaningful way, but truthfully, I think the TA is on paper the best out there.
I have hunted for decades with Nosler Partitions. They have become almost impossible to find and are too expensive. I think this year I will switch to these for mule deer and elk.
Big question is where did you get the components to reload these? I like the bullet design, but prefer to load my own. I’d appreciate info on the bullet to find the projectiles to load my own if you don’t care to share.
Hope they will make 168gr Terminal ascent bullets for 7mm magnum. Absolutely hate the 168gr burger vld bullets. They hit like a hand grenade. Wastes alot of meat. Love these bullets.
Money was no object in this production, no exspense was spared, from that "sturdy" shooting table to the high value targets of distilled water and finally the blurry heat mirage filled camera work looking at the target.
Thank you very much for testing at all these ranges, it actually shows meaningful info. Keep up the good work. 🖒🖒🖒
You videos are by far the best out there.. Thank you !!!
Excellent test! Thank you for investing all of the time, energy and expense to do this! Take care!
Wow that is very beautiful expansion, you can tell that this round will expand well beyond 500 yards. Thank you for doing this test.
This really helped me decide. I went and got some and our rifles seem to like them. Can’t wait to hunt
Love these videos really good information

These are by far the best performing bullets that I’ve used on game
I just bought that same Caldwell rest glad to see another shooter with it 💪🏻
Nice to see them expand at various ranges

Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment!

I would disagree to say that 50 yard performance results are crucial. Some designs grenade at high velocity close range. 50/100/200/300/400/500
Impressive u made my mind up im going with the 170 grain in my new 7prc thanks
This bullet did the job last hunting season out of my 6.5cm going to try them out of my 270 wsm this year.
Well done. Good info. Thank you so much. Subscribed.

Best pull it on the market. Pretty incredible.
Good tests
Its good of you guys to be watering the dry grass. 👍

Wow .That’s consistent performance.
Might have to go with this bullet for hunting with my 16" lightweight aero M5 build. Currently pushing 2560 fps with other 175gr smk using varget.
Glad I got these. Worth the extra $$$.
Great vid. I believe I would choose this ammo over Barnes ttsx.
Love the video
Thank you!
Great video. Thinking the 215s out of my 300 prc might be the shit.
Excellent!
Thanks for your support!

Freaking cool video!!!
So, did you have velocities at those ranges? Didn't look like it... Never the less pretty good video
Nah this is one of our oldest videos, in our earlier vids we didn't include it till some people asked us to. All our newer ones include estimated impact velocities though!
The hype really matches the actual performance 😮
Agree!
My cousin harvested a large 8-pt whitetail at 448yds with this bullet in a 308 AR-10. Bullet exited opposite shoulder and ran less than 50yds.
Did you find the listed ballistic coefficient to be accurate for your range dialing/hold off?
Would you guys do a review on the Ruger 308 Go Wild? I like that rifle and the terminal accent bullet....
We haven't done a lot of reviews but we're considering doing a few on guns we really like, the Ruger included.
Great
Can you imagine these handloaded out of 300 win mag!!!! WOW

Do you know what the mininum terminal velocity is for expansion ? 1800 >> Thanks
Have you killed with them yet ?

We bought these prior to the supply shortages
Hope they will make 168gr Terminal ascent bullets for 7mm magnum.

Love these bullets.
They make a 160gr trophy bonded tip, close enough
I get you bill, i get that bergers are designed to do that but i dont like eating lead with my meat 🤷♂️ im definitely going to give these a try!
They make a 7mm 150gr and are adding a 7mm 175gr
A 160_165 grain in 7mm rem mag would be optimal.
Do they have a 165gr
Do you think the 18" Ruger American Predator will have similar performance with this bullet? Looking for the best elk round for this fall's hunt.
Out to 400 or 500 yards, yes.
@@frontlinerejects8029 excellent! Thank you for posting this great video. I'm going to try this round out!
fedral should load this 175 in a .300 win mag.
Which would you choose in the 308 for elk, terminal accent or ELD-X? Or something else?
TERMINAL ASCENT DEFINITELY ITS A WAYYYY TOUGHER BULLET
ELDX is not bonded and will come apart on an elk. The terminal ascent is bonded and will retain most of its weight.
I'd go with 180 gr trophy bonded tip
Andres I need a deer for my birthday, js lol
Can you do this on 300 win mag same bullet?
We've got the Terminal Ascent in 200gr coming up soon in the 300 Win Mag!
Hey what rifle ate you using.
0:12
Where did you get 2655 fps? Manufacturers website says 2600 out of 24" barrel.
These are handloads.
@@frontlinerejects8029 gotcha... thanks..obviously I missed that lol
What were speeds at 100 200 300 400 and 500
Maybe I missed it, but were these hand loads or factory ammunition? Thanks!
Sorry, totally fell asleep on this one. For some reason I missed the hand loading dialog when I originally watched the video. ☺️
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I wish they made them in 165
Me to
The 180 TBT has been a one hitter quiter out my 308
175 does better in the wind and hits harder than a 165.
Jugs not drugs...
