- Approach over the city of Thessaloniki and landing on runway 16 at Thessaloniki Makedonia International Airport ( SKG / LGTS) in Greece. With ATC (airtraffic control) audio. Cockpit view (Captain side), Airbus A320. Produced in 4k.
On this beautiful day, runway 16 in use. This gave us the possibility to fly over the city and produce this nice video. Most of the time, the opposite runway 34 is in use. During the approach to runway 34, the city of Thessaloniki is only visible from some distance.
We flew the ILS (instrument landing system) approach to runway 16. Due to the precise guidance, this approach is also available during weather with low clouds or foggy weather.
Runway 16/34 dimensions are 2410 meters (7907 feet) by 60 meters (197 feet). In the video you can see that most of the approach lightning system is located on poles in the bay infront of the runway. This is unique but required because the runway starts only a few meters from the shore.
The airport is located about 13 km southeast of the city of Thessaloniki.

Guten Abend! Ich bin heute aus Zufall über deinen Kanal gestolpert. VIELEN DANK für die Arbeit welche Du Dir hier machst. Deine Videos sind großartig und von toller Qualität. Wenn ich einzig die Kritik anbringen könnte, ich glaube ohne Musik im Hintergrund, dafür aber mehr communication zwischen Dir und Deinem FO, wäre es für die Zielgruppe „Aviatik Fans“ interessanter und der Anflug besser nachzuvollziehen. Ich freue mich aber so oder so auf neue Videos, vielleicht auch mal aus Deutschland, Österreich etc. :-)
Hallo Niko, vielen Dank für Dein Feedback! Deine Vorschläge sind angekommen! Die nächsten Videos werde ich ohne Musik veröffentlichen. Ein Video vom Anflug in München habe ich inzwischen publiziert. Wien, Düsseldorf und ein paar andere Airports kommen in der nächsten Zeit sicher auch noch. Was die Kommunikation zwischen FO und CDR betrifft, ist es so, dass unter 10.000 Fuß in erster Linie nur noch für die Flugdurchführung wesentliche Dinge kommuniziert werden. Das stellt sicher, dass die ganze Aufmerksamkeit bei der Flugdurchführung und Luftraumbeobachtung liegt. Deshalb ist es in der Anflugphase im Cockpit sehr ruhig. Bei manchen Videos konnte ich nicht den Cockpit-Interphone-Ton bei der Aufnahme aufnehmen, so dass nur die Autocallouts des Flugzeuges zu hören sind.

Sehr schönes Video, ......aber die Musik im Hintergrund........wenn's denn unbedingt sein muss, dann wäre eine Bousuki bzw. Mandoline eher angebracht....;-)
Vielen Dank für das Feedback! Ich habe inzwischen gelernt, dass der Musikgeschmack unter denjenigen, die meine Videos gut finden, extrem verschieden ist. Deshalb sind alle neuen Videos nun ohne Musik. Die Idee mit Bousuki ... finde ich auch sehr gut. Aber auch da wird es Zuschauer geben, denen es nicht gefallen würde.
