Theo and Bee gave up their busy city lifestyles in 2014 to explore alternative living, and have lived in vans and boats since then without looking back! Along with their cat Ginjey Bear they have been driving around the world in their self converted Sprinter van. However, when the global pandemic hit they began converting their abandoned stone barn in Central Portugal to turn into a wonderful tiny stone cottage. Along the way, they have rescued a playful cat called Furrnando and have a wonderful flock of Chickens!

American Magnolia Trees have big Green Shiny Leather like leaves that stay on the tree year round.
The flower does look like tge same flower but the ones here are white flowers.
If this is a Magnolia please let me know the species.

Good to see Bee up and around! Theo, I am also relieved to see the trees back budding and blooming. I did write at the time that you would likely be surprised at how many trees would survive. It is nevertheless distressing. A part of the experience of our mountain fire back in the '70s that I on purpose did not mention. You are doing a really good job! Bee, things like potato peel the goats will eat up heartily! Our sheep used to run to eat our potato peel and indeed, potatoes are fed to cattle during the winter and we fed swedes (the turnip, not the people!) to the sheep. I can remember a whole lorry load being delivered just for the sheep and we would cover them with dead bracken and tin sheets to protect them from the frost. We too helped ourselves from the pile for our meals!

As mentioned already, that tree was a Magnolia. We had 2 when I lived in Spain.
Tip: Make a photo with an android phone, and in the preview or "Photos app" press the button "Google Lens". It will identify what is in the picture with amazing accuracy. It works on a lot of flowers and trees.

So many trees have survived the wild fire and it is a joy to see the tender green on the branches. Thank you for showing us ! 💕🌷

Bea, whenever my cakes don’t go to plan I make cake pops. Crumble up the cake, mix it with icing/frosting/buttercream. Freeze them then dip them in melted chocolate. If you want jam, add that either in the middle by freezing little globs and covering them in the cake and cream mix before freezing and covering.

Absolutely loved this video. Theo is there anything you can't do? Also loved the baking segment Bee. We've all been there. Would love to see more baking segments if you feel up to it. You are both such lovely people and I look forward to your videos. I'm losing my sight and don't have much left. It's been an awful 18 months for many reasons but your videos help me to forget all that just for a little while. Thank you xxx

Definitely a magnolia tree, I grew up with a massive magnolia in my backyard in Vancouver BC. I am going to get a branch tattooed on my body one day. It is a gorgeous but beautifully messy tree!
