- We want to encourage as much wildlife back to the property after the fire and flash flood destruction last year. This 400 square foot pond in the forest was washed away and filled in with silt during the incredibly heavy rains. It’s time to dig it out and bring it back to life!

Theo and Bee gave up their busy city lifestyles in 2014 to explore alternative living, and have lived in vans and boats since then without looking back! Along with their cat Ginjey Bear they have been driving around the world in their self converted Sprinter van. However, when the global pandemic hit they began converting their abandoned stone barn in Central Portugal to turn into a wonderful tiny stone cottage. Along the way, they have rescued a playful cat called Furrnando and have a wonderful flock of Chickens!

You know I’d absolutely love to, but I get around in a wheelchair so can’t do hikes & such. Such a bummer. But I’m so happy for you two & whoever goes along with you on the trips. They’ll be quite fortunate to hang out with you in nature. Hugs~Mare

It boggles my mind the amount of time that the previous owners put into making your place filled with so many different trees. And even though you’ve lost some from the fire, you’ve got so many more blessings that were left unharmed. I enjoy the enthusiasm watching you both build your property back up. It is unbelievable how much the two of you have done to your property. What great news! You found out more from the excavator man about your property having a second spring. Over time, there is no telling what else you will discover on the magical mountain. I love being able to enjoy this adventure with such an amazing couple.

BOTH of you are soo happy!! You were happy living on the other property and working on the Barn, but you seem like a New Theo and a New Bea! You’re constantly smiling, laughing, and your humor and funny comments make me smile and adds a bit of happiness to my world. Bea your comment about it not being “your day”, then the bird pooping on your head made me laugh. Saying I’m happy for you just doesn’t seem the right word, but hopefully you understand. I just wish I was there enjoying repairs on Miracle Mountain. What a blessing!

Your property is beautiful, even when damaged. You are the perfect person to bring it back to life.
Your Land is the most beautiful Land I think I’ve ever seen. It’s not the same from one end to the other. The beautiful boulders are massive. All the different buildings across your Land are awesome. You two have had a really hard time off and on but you have been Blessed also with this gorgeous property. Can’t wait to see the Lake when it’s completed you’ll get a lot of enjoyment out of it along with the forest animals. I’m so very happy for you both you truly deserve Miracle Mountain. One of the wonderful things about a wildlife pond is how, over time, different wildlife make it their home .. or just passing through .. me thinks u need a trail camera setup too :)

You can go on a nice Sunday drive on your own property every week & it will never get old ❤ I can't wait until you're all finished repairing & cleaning up after the fire & flood so you can sit back, chillax & enjoy it.
It's amazing to see all the simple yet ingenious systems that are in place all over the mountain. With all of them (eventually) restored you will not only keep the water under control but also have a fantastic setup to make good use of the springs to give everything on the property plenty of water during hot summers.
Looking forward to seeing when you find that elusive second spring somewhere above that big bolder and "water mine".

Bee, when climbing down those trails that u’ve got on your property, to save the strain on ur knee, turn around and go down backwards…a bit like climbing down a ladder! That way is a lot gentler on ur knee.

Hoping you make the pond bigger and deeper than the original, swimming or soaking capabilities. Reinforcing and levelling access roads with the excavated rubble. You can build a recreation or retreat or picnic area beside the pond. A small shed for tools, changing, bathroom, cooking/barbecue area. Maybe a smaller fish pond. Or a waterfall? A water flow gate. Or two or three inter connected ponds at different depths, size, elevation.
Can't wait for the final result. Too compare the original to post fire/flood to now. Especially the landscaping. Great to know someone who worked on the property, can make recommendations and improvements for future fire/floods. Interesting discoveries for newer ponds, culverts, drains/streams, water pipe works, caption basins/filter tanks.
I wonder if they can post pix from what the previous pond looked like?

What a beautiful place to live. Can you imagine what it would be like to be a child living there and enjoying everyday exploring the entire place?

to be able to run over stones up and down hill and be able to film with a steady hand is absolutely amazing to me. Bee, Im totally impressed, I cant even do it walking on a smooth road haha.
