I’ve seen focus many times over the years but the last time I saw them was at Troon’s winterstorm festival 2023 and they were just phenomenal! Best performance ever - it’s great that a band that has been going for so long to be at their peak of their live performance! Looking forward to hearing the new album and seeing them again !!

Focus are regulars at the Ephraim Gardens annual music festival and are still a superb live act. Great effort Phil with the interview which is probably more challenging when the interviewee's first language is not English. However Thijs come across as a most charming chap. I hope drummer Pierre van der Linden is playing on Focus 12. His performance on the band's previous album was astonishing especially on the track 'Palindrome'.

Great interview with Thijs. Well done. It's clear to see that he enjoyed your company. Whenever I've met my musical heroes, my brain goes to mush. Never interviewed them though. I think your introduction came across as heartfelt, and it flowed from there. I wouldn't have got past saying "Sylvia" was the best song I ever heard until they released "All together, oh that!" a few years later. Still my favourite piece of music.

I saw them live in 1972 right after Jan Akkerman was voted "World's Greatest Living Guitarist" from Melody Maker. Would love to know if Thijs is still in touch with him and how often? Now I will watch the video and wonder if you asked him this.... thanks Phil
