Anytime someone mentions section 8 the ignorance starts. I have paid taxes my entire life. When I left my ex for DV I went to a shelter who assisted me in locating affordable housing with my single income. Section 8 has preferences for DV victims, disabled, and working families. My rent is $2200, I pay 1/3 based on my income along with all the other bills. I also participate in the homeownership program. I work and always have. You don't know anything about this woman. She has tenant rights through HUD and should contact legal aid. No one has to live in those conditions. The landlord is being paid for her to live there, they should maintain the property or he is doing what you people complain so much about getting unearned money from the government.

Bats are cute, but only outside. They can carry rabies, so the landlord needs to do something. Those are the kinds of responsibilities you take on when you become a landlord. Pest control, maintenance of appliances, etc.
A home is not natural habitat. Have wildlife agency remove the bats to a more natural environment. Have the landlord clean and install screens to prevent return.

The bats are getting into the house through the windows, attic, opening in the roof etc.. The landlord is responsible for the structural integrity of the home which includes the roof, windows, attics etc. She has done her due diligence by reaching out to the public for help with a slumlord.

That's right - record and document EVERYTHING! This documentation will serve as receipts and as I am always saying that RECEIPTS ARE LIFE AND CAN HELP SAVE YOURS! Document things for employment, housing, everything because you just never know when you've got to prove that you are in the right. When sending emails, you should always BCC your personal email Why? Because all sent emails don't always end up in the sent folder. Also, if the recipient is vindictive enough, they will deny ever receiving said email, if sending from your job email managers can have IT delete your emails. Any photos or videos you take of a situation should also be backed up in your phone's cloud and alternative photo storage. You should also not delete your call history. Sometimes, phone calls is how things happen, and someone may be bold enough to say you never called them at all. Keeping your call history and screenshotting the whole call history to someone specific can't be faked, and can be verified by showing your phone against the photos. I had bats, roaches, mice and a sewer pipline bust that left the front part of the apartment complex smelling like crap when i grew up in section 8 housing. It's not worth it, If you can make a seasonal living arrangement with a family member or close friend then do it. Find work, Save your money and trust God to provide the opportunity and favor to move forward. While there's nothing wrong with receiving government assistance ( i have in the past) IF we choose to trust in the help of man more than the help of God then we reap poverty instead of prosperity.

Keep a journal of all dates,time, names, job titles and contact information on everyone including how long the meetings lasted. They will try to call you so you won't have written evidence. Send an email after each conversation that speaks on what happened in each call. Call/visit a great attorney. Humans should treat each other better.
Trap and release. A bat got into my home. After a while he fell asleep on the hallway wall. My son told me to get a trash bag and the vacuum with the hose attached. Turned on the vacuum, lightly placed the hose on the side of the bat on the wing. Once he was attached I put the bat the the bag and held the bag around the hose. Turned the vac off and clenched the bag closed until I went outside, placed the bag in the ground and shook it open and off he went.
had bats in attic, you stand outside when it starts getting dark out and watch for them to come out, they make a weard sound as they are getting ready to leave. After they leave you put some foam in the spot or a board or whatever you have to block them out. Also if they are in the house turn off that fan and open the door real wide they are very smart and will leave quickly thru that door.

I own my newer home in a trailer park. The owners groundsmen whacked holes in my skirting, wouldn't replace it and I have mice. They told me to get a cat! I'm disabled and it's all I can do to take care of myself, let alone an animal. Their trees are touching my roof and I am worried about it causing future roof damage and trees over my driveway drop little berries that are like walking on pearls. Almost fell twice. Many contacts to them in last three years have yielded no results. If I took it to courts or tv could almost certainly expect retaliation in form of an eviction. Any suggestions?

But finding them was a challenge, they were in cracks we could hardly see 😢., I was told the same thing about them being protected. However, bats carry rabies/ if one bites her kids then what? They need a professional company to exclude the bats. They put tubes on the entry points so the bats can fly out but not get back in. Then they need to seal up all entrances. Bats can get in a 1/2 space. The attic must be full of bats and probably the chimney. She needs to move now. Not only the risk of rabies, but also histoplasmosis from the droppings. When a bat is found indoors it’s best to catch it so it can be tested for rabies in fact they should receive preventive vaccines . It’s impossible to know if the bats put the mouths on them . As it can be transferred through saliva.

They need a professional company to exclude the bats. They put tubes on the entry points so the bats can fly out but not get back in. Then they need to seal up all entrances. Bats can get in a 1/2 space. The attic must be full of bats and probably the chimney. She needs to move now. Not only the risk of rabies, but also histoplasmosis from the droppings. Sue them landlord and housing authority and health dept.

When a bat is found indoors it’s best to catch it so it can be tested for rabies in fact they should receive preventive vaccines . It’s impossible to know if the bats put the mouths on them . As it can be transferred through saliva.

You can hit them with a tennis racket. Where I lived in Jackson Michigan. There are a lot of bats. I live in different places with bats. I had over over my head too. In my bedroom. I don't live in those places anymore. But this place in Michigan every one experiences bats in their homes.

@@AB-dl1hz yes, that’s possible, and it’s also possible that all of the children had the same father, and a father who is no longer caring for them…, but to have several children and support them without draining the economy for others, you’d need to have some financial independence and security. The laws need to change in order to uplift society from the mess it’s currently in, if that’s even possible. But in the meantime, something needs to be done to help that family relocate, because no one should be living like that.

That will never happen because I do not allow men to leave me with multiple children so that I can go to section 8 and beg the government for anything. Most people who get section 8 think that the government is helping them they get lazy and lose the ability to work. Most of these people have no idea it’s tax payers working daily that keeps them with a home for low cost. I am on hard times now! The only difference is I don’t have kids by CHOICE. I got a job and I’m adding a second on as we speak. I don’t lay up thinking the giver owes me anything. So save your weak prayers and give them to the lazy single mothers milking the system while I struggle to pay my tax dollars towards them and their out of wedlock children.
