Our founding fathers, being quite educated, understood that you should not give the government total power over people, and that people should instead be tried by a jury of their peers when they are accused of a crime. They also wrote that we have the right to a speedy trial. Well, since taxpayers don't like paying for courtrooms but love paying for prisons, the wait for a trial is long, and so people are only required to stay in prison if they are a threat to society. Otherwise, they can post a bond or be released without a bond, to appear in court when a date is available, generally a year or so later. If you keep him in jail and a year later find out his twin brother Zeke actually did the crime, you cannot give him that year back, so that is (supposedly) not allowed under our Constitution. But as animal abuse? At least a few years. This was death on a massive scale. Fish are often mistreated because humans see them as lesser than other animals, even though they’ve been shown to be much more aware and intelligent than we’ve previously thought. They are more than just food for humans, as all life on this planet is more than just a supporting character for the human existence and if we treat this a a property crime, that basically supports that mindset along with diminishing the crime. If someone came and destroyed everything I own I would be devastated but it wouldn’t be nearly the same as someone taking the life of another in a brutal and painful way
@@deananderson7714 Property and Life Existence are completely different. Your home, car, wallet, keys are property. So do you think people that kill / abuse their Pets is ok just because it’s their “property” and they can do anything they want with it?
He knew exactly what he was doing. He should spend years behind bars.
That's terrorism on a huge scale
Thats $550. Per fish.
And thats alot of bullcrap to.
They said it was $755 per each 3-4 inch juvenile fish😂.
Where is the picture of the Joshua Hackathorn?
People need to know that this man does whatever dangerous idea pops into his head.
You know why the picture isn't being shown. He's a member and privilege has its benefits
Not being shown because he hasn't been proven guilty in court yet. Go back to elementary school maybe?
@@chodesu313
@@chodesu313Do you live your life with your eyes closed? They broadcast pictures of people who have been charged with a crime all the time, well before a conviction is handed down. I know living is easy with eyes closed, but you really should open them up so when you talk, you don't sound like an idiot.
@@chodesu313 at the time of arrest the dude was in a dress. We all know exactly why they arent showing his picture
WHY!? What is wrong with people!? The courts need to start making example of people again.
There are more people in prison in the United States than any other country in the entire world, even China, a country with 4 times the population.
So you might need to reassess your belief that the US doesn't make examples of people. The US is the most incarcerating country that exists.
@@nunliski Thank you. People in this country have no idea how it actually works.
Put him in jail for a long time.
A 2 year old knows right and wrong, so making an excuse for a 25 year old man is absurb!
How is a person able to have access like this?
He broke some padlocks.
It's a fish tank on a body of water.
Not Ft Knox.
@@WindFireAllThatKindOfThing I bet you it will be now. Food, Energy or agencies/businesses that could highly impact the economy need to analyze possible threats that someone entering the country illegally who wants to hurt the country, may commit. Not to mentions the home grown crazies. The first time I flew on an airplane as a kid, the pilots took me into the cockpit & showed me the controls...things have changed
@@prooveditt4839 Eh, that's a good point. Go up by Bull Run reservoir it's got all sorts of hard to spot and fancy security measures now. But the plurality of facilities we have doing all sorts of stuff can't affordably be festooned in motion detectors, hesco barriers and razor wire, and armed guards. We simply have too much stuff to guard against every lunatic or idiot who finds a vulnerability to vandalize.
You would be surprised how many things we take for granted that rely on people willingly following the rules we established as a society. The liberal world order relies on a very high percentage of people agreeing with it. If any significant portion refuses to comply, it devolves into fascist authoritarianism rather quickly. You may recall people decrying the severe security measures after 9/11 as saying the terrorists won. We allowed a handful of bad actors to completely dismantle our open and permissive society because we got scared. Don't make this incident into a situation that requires armed guards at every facility.
Disgusting - let's hope he really spends some serious time in prison for this.
He should, but if he was booked & released so quick, I sadly highly doubt it.
He's not being charged with animal cruelty?
put him in prison 1 year per 1000 fish
I believe someone did that in the pond behind my house. For 30 years, I heard the sound of American bullfrogs at night during summer. 2 years ago, the frogs stopped calling. Pisses me off.
Agricultural runoff can cause this as well. Fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides, if applied improperly.
Could've also been someone with tons of cats moving in to the neighborhood, who just let their cats roam wherever they please. That was the case in my neighborhood.
This should be punished heavily, to mess with a food supply or farm harvests is unacceptable
Sounds like she's already not pressing charges...
The impact on people's lively hood kinda does make this like terrorism
How Awful 😡😡
Terrorism. I wonder about the recent fires at iconic public structures too.
Ikr
Antifa
Who is he terrorizing? What's his political agenda? Did you see a manifesto or something?
How about domestic terrorism charges
The young man to get minimum of 5 years in prison causing millions in damages. I can't believe he was released though.
I just heard a story here in NY where someone burned up half a million bees. It is so hateful.
