I own a 12-in Rockford fosgate P3 slim speaker from 2013 I think, it is an amazing speaker to save space. I own a 2009 C300 Sport 231,000 miles and it still rocks.
I own three of them and they hit harder than JL 12"TW3. The downside is that they do not sound well in ported enclosures.
I have three (sealed box) in my truck and also a 12" TW3 in a ported box.
The 12" helps with the extra boom/roll off.
It sounds freaking awesome!
I don't believe it is designed for ported enclosures. It needs the cabinet for control of the driver. Designed for a small box.
Do you think this sub will produce enough bass to fill in the cabin of a suburban? I'm in between the TW5 or sacrifice a little more space and just going with a full size 8" in a ported box (DD audio).
@@cjlos2050sp it all depends on power behind it. Ported boxes act differently vs. sealed boxes. Obviously these are designed for minimal space so it depends on the space you want to sacrifice. More wood means more weight as well. I always think it's enough bass but everyone's taste is different. Some like to let everyone else hear what they're listening to. Honestly, in a suburban, the volume inside should be good because you'll complete more of the wave length as opposed to a smaller vehicle. There's a lot of physics involved in all this.

@@cjlos2050sp With enough power and properly made enclosure (with minimum flexing), you can get a ton of bass to rattle your windows.
I am searching all over the internet for the height of this woofer. Official spec only specifies mounting depth, but it is misleading as this Sub sticks out quite a lot on the surface and the total thickness is significantly more than just mounting depth.
Im debating on getting these or the 10 or 12 in shallow subs from jl im trying to see if it worth almost spending double just for one sub
