My ex was investing in me as a friend and I thought it was more than that so I held on to hope and now she’s with someone else.
Good advice but I disagree in one point: If your ex is into another guy and does crawl back at a later point in time, don’t take her back. It does not matter if she is in a rebound relationship or head over heels into somebody else - the fact that she did not show commitment to you and just gets going with some other dude means that she will do it again once she gets that feeling again that the grass could be greener on the other side.
Remember this: You are of value and not an option. I know it sucks, especially as I am in a situation myself in which I have to learn how to let go of a 4+ years relationship. But I am no tool and neither are you. Don’t let women use you, rather find somebody who truly does commit to you.
I’ve watched so many of these videos I don’t know what to think anymore… but this video was better than most. Keep up the good work Clay you’re doing great things for people in need!

My ex after 9 months of hot and cold and saying they love me to recently saying my love for you had died! But still care. So sounds done to me. Even though I’ve made lots of real changes and invested a lot in her!

How does the 'no contact rule' can be applied when 1-3 include contacting each other? If I am doing no contact, and she's doing the same, her feelings might just fade day by day

@@anotheranon2579 i am just saying for myself. In my past relationship, I was the provider, the giver, the one that always give. Regardless of gifts, money, time. Mybe my love language is giving gifts and I like to see people happy. The turning point for me is that knowing I won't lose anything from moving on as I am the one that is providing. She's the one that's gonna suffer as she loses the privileges and she gotta work herself to get what she wants. For that reason itself, I just moved on knowing I lose nothing, and there will be someone that will appreciate all I do for her. Either will she regret or not, that's not my problem. I dont feel bad as I have done the very best in maintaining as well as fixing the relationship. And it's her that ruin it. Everything is hard in the beginning, but time heals and things get easier. I might sound selfish, but that's what I told myself. I dont feel regret after giving my best shot, it's her that's not worth the effort. Best wishes to you. Stay strong

My ex and I broke up for distance but only after I discovered he fell out of love with me cause I was too attached and he felt overwhelmed. He started dating and having sex around compulsively after the break up and says it’s just because he wanted to. After 3 months of no contact he came back and invited me to visit him. He was confused but still had feelings but maybe evaluating me as a future bf but also keeping me under the thumb. After multiple fights he said he is not interested in me anymore. You should see how he treated me. Now I’m starting to live again but he was the only positive thing in my life: this destroys me. I need help.

she just ignored me for a whole month (2nd month since 2nd breakup). Im giving up on her cause its hard to hold a candle in the cold November Rain (actually im stuck crying in springtime for someone who doesnt reciprocate; when i could be going on dates with lots of people) I love her and miss her, but i cant wait in the dark forever while she doesnt show any signs of caring

Outdate: we actually got together for a third time end November last year, she told me all i wanted to listen and even surpassed my wildest dreams; also said i had been the only one no other guys ever since we first met; she had dreamt of me every other night, she still wanted to get my child someday; it was all sounding too good to be true, we made up too fast that night in Nov; last day i checked her DMs while she was away and... she had actually lied to me about other guys.. i confronted her with it, she of course blameshifted it all on me and took it all back; i am now officially the "bad guy" to her exes and family and friends.. i think she probably suffered from undiagnosed BPD possibly NPD but i dont know for sure and all of that has been in my ruminating mind since November. I can still see her social media and she brags about how good life is going for her now, while im stuck in a semi slumber depressed state.
I really hope your ex is a healthy individual, but if you have doubts that they may actually be personality disordered or just feel something off in your body, please listen to your intuition, dont let yourself be harmed and devalued and discarded a 3rd time like i did.
I wish you all the very best and hope you will be doing great soon either with or without your ex; give plenty of love to yourself, ghosting is never OK; trust your inner voice. Dont be stuck in pain like i am.

so she seems interested in my place in the world when were together but when were apart its like barely anything basically nothing at this point i always feel like her parents care more about me then she herself does even if their upset with me they still talk to me about why or just talk to me and dont completely cut me off its just really confusing i think shes just wanting to create a bit of distance because shes not ready idk if were ready even if when we are together things are great. ive calmed down a lot more all my nerves about her and i are going away. so im giving her the space she asked for by telling to just go away. Everybody should move on anyway. If you take the right actions and he's the right on, I believe he's the one who will reach out.

My ex says he's lost feelings for me and feels happier / better off without the relationship. Not sure whether there's any chance he'll want to rekindle in the future as he says he probably won't be interested, but I guess I need to take it at face value :/ I begged and pleaded to start with as I actually did think he had doubts and would listen but he's gone from seemingly caring a lot to sounding like he doesn't care at all. Hoping some no contact is going to help me move forward but who knows... I wonder if he'll ever regret this decision?

Hey - ultimately I never got back with my ex as he very quickly started dating someone else and it gave me the realisation that he wasn't worth me having those feelings of love and affection for him. He wasn't honest nor upfront with me and so I didn't waste my time thinking about him after that revelation. You'll find your feet again eventually and meet someone far better for you - or if your ex is worth it, they'll prove themselves. Best of luck.

I didn't get back with my ex and honestly it's probably best this way. He was dishonest, unstable, and incredibly unhealthy for me and hindsight has shown me this. If he was worth my time or effort he would have stepped up after the break-up but instead he went off and slept with someone else, so that was the clear indication I needed to stop caring
It would be hard to tell if an Avoidant ex is invested in you. Because by nature Avoidants find investment-physical or emotional hard.

Hi Clay, my ex and I have had a long distance relationship for 6 years but long story short she is living in Abu Dhabi but came back to Bulgaria for us to stay together but it was during the whole covid thing. She has since gone back to Abu Dhabi and for the last 8 months I have been trying to get her back but doing all the mistakes, begging over reacting all of that. 2 months ago she said asked would we get back together and I said yes we will make it work. We have continued talking but then she has been saying I should move on and start seeing other people and that she has moved on. I feel completely hopeless. What can I do? Go into some no contact?

Clay, love your videos. They have such a calming effect on my conflicted mind. I'm in the UK. My ex and I have been broken up for a month or so, she ended things. Been getting a lot of hot and cold treatment but still in contact. Last weekend we talked and kissed more than once, but gone extremely cold since. I wouldn't say I'm needy or forcing anything but I know strong feelings are still there despite her hiding it so well. She is emotionally closed off whereas I'm not. Would this be a good point to begin no contact?

@@ClayAndrews thanks for the reply Clay. I've seen her a few times, but she has a daughter whom I'm quite close too and we still go out walking the dogs. That last weekend, I tried to pick her up away from the house, but she said her mum told me to just come along. I was doing ok, since that weekend, but now I'm starting to struggle and fighting the urge to reach out. She wants to be friends as there is a bond there, but I just can't. She is already texting another guy but I know her, and she's not the type to just jump into anything or bring new men into her kids lives. I know she feels guilt for doing this to me as I have done most things right. She's just emotionally closed, she's suffered narcassistic abuse in a long term previous relationship and I just don't think she understands or can fully accept how much I love her, she's said that herself. So going no contact is something I'm not sure about, I always feel that despite what is going on, if I go a few days without reaching out that it'll just anger her. I really don't know if I'm being tested, and she wants me to step up.

Hey Clay, I’m a bit confused on where my ex is at in the 5 stages. I’m thinking he started at Riding the Dragon but I pushed him back into Test Drive. We are long distance (100% met online, never met. I’m actually going on a trip up to where he lives soon idk if I should ask to meet up). But basically we talk a lot over voice calls. Most of the time with friends, sometimes without. But we get along and have a lot of fun with friends, but when we text before and or after, he gives me one worded responses. Sometimes the convo can bounce around a bit and be fun, but otherwise he keeps go himself. It was worse at first but now he at least is acting like his old self in the way he texts, but he still doesn’t initiate or ask me anything (he said he doesn’t initiate as to not lead me on; he doesn’t know I know that I don’t think) The most I got out of him was “how have you been feeling lately?” About a week ago. I’ve started asking him about more personal stuff. (He went out with friends today, I asked about what they did. Any advice?

Why do they move to a rebound relationship with someone else when they are the ones who dumped you? Or why they move to a friends with benefits with the privious ex and not you? If you know what I mean?
Normally they find their ex more attractive if they have had a glow up or something but since their relationship failed in the past they don’t plan on being more than friends with benefits

It's also because its easier to have a FWB situation/rebound with someone you have no emotional connection to. The rebound is a way to avoid dealing with their feelings. So no feelings are really involved. Whereas if they go back to you (the person they have feelings for) its hard to keep the physical and the emotional separate. Hope this helps!
