I'm crazy about Ty Segall's music so I'm going around listening to all his friends who he collaborated or toured with... this guy, White Fence, Fuzz, Thee Oh Sees.... any other recommendations? I think it's such a crock of BS when I hear people claim today's musicians suck. We're going through a wonderful underground renaissance this decade.
+Sean Lynch Wand is really good, TY recorded their first album at his studio. Also his old bands are good, Traditional Fools, The Epsilons. Would probably like Charlie and the Moonhearts. Zig Zags are pretty rad too. Friends of TY. Damaged Bug is Jon Dwyer from Thee Oh Sees side project more electronic but still good. Night Beats, and their other bands UFO Club, The Drug Purse. I could go on, and on.... You are right, if people say their isn't good music, they just don't know where to look. Or are out of the loop...

I too wonder why no one knows these guys!! I live in Wisco, and years ago I found this on the college radio station here for UW-Madison. Such talent. Everyone needs to hear this!! It's like Beck, The Beach Boys and Radiohead had a baby and named him Mikal

I discovered Ty a year ago. Finally gave Mikal a go a few days ago. I can't say I like the albums more or less than my favorite Ty albums at least... what I CAN say is that he is SO MUCH BETTER LIVE than Ty. Why did I wait so long to check him out?!?! I'm gonna have his albums on repeat for the next month at least.
