An hour long loop of this relaxing and calm song that still sounds a lot like the original. Just listen it, forget all your problems and slowly fall asleep

I work night shift (EMT-SECURITY 😉), this is the background music when I'm in the guard house. It really hits home when the junkies are stumbling around outside.
A year ago I was having trouble at work, hence dealing with a lot of stress every day. I was at a really dark place and somehow that one hour of listening to this with headphones, saved me. Grateful that I saved the game. Life doesn't always give you ink ribbons..
I hear you bro. It doesn't help when you also have to deal with toxic and obnoxious co-workers on top of that. That's why I try to find the pleasures in simple things...clears my mind and helps me make better decisions.
I had a similar experience, but for me it was Akira Yamaoka music from the Silent Hill series. We're lucky that these games featured such incredible music
I almost cried when I ran into the first safe room of the remake, just... the nostalgia, I miss the 90's, I miss being young and I miss my insane fear of zombies brought on by the picture on the back of the PS1 manual, you know the one!
EmilG90 Lol ah I see, yes, the 90's was exciting, it felt more futuristic than the actual future that followed it, it seems like vibe culture has completely died if that makes sense, no real image springs to mine with the 2000s... I don't know, I just think the 90's were where it was at!
***** It really was, Sitting in front of the TV with the Gamecube on, ready to embark on the nightmare! and that epic moment when you run into your first zombie.. Damn nostalgia man. Good times. They sure don't make games like they used to.
It calls for another remake today though. Exploring the hallways of that mansion with a modern over the shoulder camera angle is how the game should be experienced in the 2020s. If any of the RE games need a remake it's the first one, as the 2002 game definitely looks aged with all due respect.
On the ps3, my father and I, who until then were not very close, started playing this incredible game, it was very incredible to discover the countless puzzles in the game's mansion, he would tell me his stories about when he beat the game with his cousin on the ps1 and that they didn't have a memory card so when they died they came back from the beginning of the game, I miss that time. I miss this feeling, I love this game!
This is the first videogame ever to make me go HOLY SHIT and absolutely blow my mind back in 2002. I could not believe a videogame could have those kind of graphics. I don't think any game has shocked me as much as this one ever since. Not even the most modern ones, the magic is gone. The jump from n64 and ps1 to GameCube and ps2 was something we will never see ever again
No, you will see it again when we get the "real life" graphics where you basically are playing Resident Evil but the graphics are equivalent to literally an episode of Walking Dead.
I absolutely love how this tune manages to capture both soothing calmness while at the same time maintaining an eeriness that keeps you on edge. These two things should be in conflict with each other, and yet this combines them seamlessly. Beautiful.
I feel like a lot of us that listen to resident evil soundtracks for the save themes all share something in common in life that makes us all feel very unsettled and we all try to reach for that feeling of safety, like the main characters in these games.
This song is apart of my childhood, so lucky to have experienced it the way I did. So amazing to grow with a series like this. This song symbolizes safety to me, long live Resident Evil!

I grew up with this series, my bedtime story as you'd call it. Flipping through the game guide and telling my dad as if he hasn't beaten it 100x before. On our Gamecube, box TV, late at night and storms rolling in. Done it for years... now 20 years old and still will do the same.

@@nickenhead500 i do know, i was playing it when i was 13. lol. but the save room music is practically the same, its the same tune at least. just suttle differences.
Two of my friends and I were coming back home late at night after a party, we were baked , and I had this song on my headphones: They had their hood on and they were slowly driving their bike juste in front of me , in this long straight street where all the houses seems to have been copy-past next to each other. We never met any sign of life during our journey, everything was so quiet. Just sounds of leeves swept away by the wind and upper branch of trees shaking.... There was a light rain falling, and the road was almost fellow as it was wet and reflecting the heavy lights from the street lamps. I've never had this feeling before but for about 20 mins I felt like we were the only remaining souls on earth. Powerful music
I've been playing REmake for 16 years. I always beat this game at least three times a year and I even got into speed running it for a little while (my personal best was 1:32 new game mode normal 'climbing'). I've beaten this game countless times on every difficulty setting. I've beaten this game countless times with challenge runs such as "knife only" and "no healing" on every game mode and in every difficulty. I've spent nights 12-14 hours at a time just enjoying this game and learning every nook and cranny to every piece of lore you can find in the game. No matter how far away I tread from this game and no matter how long it's been the mansion always calls me back. This game is like a ghost that haunts you and you can't escape it's intoxicating appeal, charm and subtlety. It's so stoic in its embrace that it keeps you held in its arms as if you were a foreigner in a strange land seeking knowledge and wisdom. This game is a part of me and has buried itself deep into my soul. From the first moment I saw a preview of this game on TechTV back in 2003 I knew that this was going to be something special. I know there's a lot of you that will probably feel like this game is boring compared to the newer resident evil titles and you are definitely entitled to that opinion. What I would like to say is if you are on the fence about playing this game I highly encourage it. This game is a masterpiece of gem that is unlike any other. Sure Resident Evil 0 comes close visually but I can say that gameplay wise and level design wise it doesn't even come close. This game stands alone and it is every bit a part of me as I am of it.
Imagine, just barely surviving a journey through a mansion filled with zombies, barely armed. You get to a safe room with a box, and a candle. I cannot think of any motivation to leave that room in such a horrible situation.
I used to stay in the safe rooms for hours, just listening to this, back in 2002. This theme is just... I can't really describe it. I feel so relaxed yet so anxious every time listen to it. My emotions are conflicting each other and the outcome is me almost ready to cry! Yes, this theme is THIS amazing!
we are here all over again brothers and sisters, gaming life is one of our best classic childhood memories. started RE 1 when i was 12, now i am 38. life is good, folks.
Damn, you stole my idea! XD I want to get an actual typewriter just to put on display in my bedroom and I literally had the same idea about having a save room theme going 24/7 lol. Great minds. ;)
I remember running from a hunter with low health while I ran into this room, I felt comfort. I stayed in this room for 10 minutes of rethinking my strategy. This music is perfect for thinking!!!
And the memories come flooding back... Such an amazing piece that gave you some sort of eerie relaxation. You knew you were safe for the time being but at the same time looming in the back of your head was the thought of what lies on the other side of the door. What horrors you left behind but can't be avoided, wether it be the hunter you ran past to get in the door or zombies waiting outside that you have few rounds left for. That's horror and that's what today's "horror" games need, not countless jump scares or huge action scenes but that one feeling. They really got it right.
I am not ashamed to say this. This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music to listen to. The thing turns in such a sad and yet beautiful way, the way it slows down just before it repeats, and the swelling sound in the background is like the wind blowing through the door, wailing in sorrow. The whole piece is very nostalgic...so much so for me, there was a time I couldn't re visit this on that account. Thanks for uploading:)
This is one of the only videos on the internet that truly calms me down whenever my life feels like shit and have stuff in my mind. Just sit back in my dimly lit apartment and soak in the melancholy until I fall asleep.
My dad loves this game. I just picked it up recently and started playing it. It's fun, confusing, and tedious. That's the charm. Nowadays everyone hates their dads or even parents in general. But I love both my mom and dad. Sometimes they piss me off but that never outweighs how much i love them. Playing this game feels almost like I'm doing something for my dad. I'm not very good at it though. 8hrs and I've only gotten to giving Richard the serum and 10 saves. It makes me feel like I wanna make a game like this. For my dad. But I'm on Mac so I can't use rpgmaker as I did on windows [sadly wine isn't compatible for new versions of Mac :/ ] The saferooms are always such a nice place. I set whatever I've gathered in there, take something, and leave. I feel like I'm not a true resident evil fan for whatever reason even though I'm only really playing this game cuz my dad said it's pretty good. As if I need to play the "newer better games." Honestly I really don't care for tall vampire lady. I like Jill and solving puzzles. I also sometimes wish I was around for the release of this remake and the 2000s horror craze in general. But one day some kids in the future will wish they lived through the release of fnaf and other stuff. So I appreciate what I have now. That's all. I'll make my way out of this safe room. See ya guys later 👋👍
SuspAnimation Followed closely by Wind Waker and Twilight Princess while RE ZERO plays in the corner around the 15th spot. That game had terrible inventory systems.
+Bionic Tang Not really.RE0 was a true survival-horror game.Items were limited as fuck and most of the times you were helpless with no healing items on you cause not enough space for everything.RE0, to me, is better than REmake, maybe the best classic-Resi and had a real plot twist.
I can honestly see a modernized return to this type of save system. Seeing as a lot of the focus is on camera perspectives and found footage to help solve puzzles and progress the story, I can see areas or moments where they have a really serene track like this play while you load up a camcorder with new footage or upload your progress to a computer or something. That'd be a little outdated feeling but still be dope af
reminds me a lot of the loading screen from Dark Souls 1, song is called "Souls of Fire", similar harp arpeggios with some ethereal background droning melody, awesome combo
Well this came first, but it goes all the way back to Aquatic Ambience from Donkey Kong and that probably took it's inspiration from classical music. To me, that style of composition makes for the most relaxing music.
the save rooms and music offered a very important element to these series. A lot of horror games today have forgotten this but having moments of calm, moments where the player is completely aware that they won't be attacked, help heighten the tension when they are being attacked or hunted. Giving the player a momentary respite is good to keep horror working. Outlast didn't do this. Instead it kept the tension at maximum the whole way through. Outlast isn't a bad game but I got tired of it really quickly and I haven't bothered for a second play through. Unlike Amnesia or RE or Silent Hill.
Im not sure if Im remembering correctly but I think at one point in one of the games (1,2 or 3, probably one of the later ones) there's a bit where one of the save rooms gets invaded, oh! I think it was Re2, the second back entrance to the police station (you know the garage-ie looking one) and when you opened one of the doors, 2 or 3 zombies came in and ruined the party. That room had a typewriter and it sort of made a play on your feelings having felt safe in typewriter rooms up until that point
today i was playing Resident Evil HD remaster and i entered the save room, i just increased the volume and slept like a baby! i woke up and jill was waiting for me 😂 it is very calming i love it ❤️❤️
Iconic music that transports you back to the survival horror glory days of 1996 to early 00's. Battaling for your life and finding the sanctuary of the save room with it welcoming warm glow and its calming music. You will never have a gaming memory like this ever again.
This song is amazing. It just sounds very sad yet at the same time there's a sort of peace to it. Like a spirit shedding their regrets and moving on. The gentle howling and the plucking of what I can only assume is some sort of acoustic, adding a sort of ethereal feeling to the song hanging around it like a dense fog. This song wouldn't be out of place in Silent Hill I think, yet it works so well in RE too.
"Nearly out of ammo, my nerves are shot... my sanity is failing... let me rest for a while here in this safe room". This brings back so many good memories....
I go to sleep listening to this every night... there is a pure sense of security and tranquillity behind this theme that make it very surprising to know that it is actually in a Survival Horror title. Truly a masterful composition from Capcom.
the distant sound thats always in it makes it feel so eerie, yet.. somehow calming, you know youre sage from the horrors outside, the warm light.. calming you down, the old typewriter clicking reminding you theres still hope out there that is what goes through my head every time, re1 became almost a comfort game due to this
I ran into this audio on Instagram while watching reels, and this music struck me. I had to go look for it so here I am, just savoring the beautiful eerieness of this music. It gives off an eerie, off putting feel to it, like, where am I, I've been lost for as long as I remember... until this save room appears. Really good composition. It looks like I have a game to play.
A few years back, while I was procrastinating on studying for my criminal justice class as I did so often back then, I was browsing CZcams and looking for something that I could try and study to, and I was recommended this gem. This was my first time hearing the music, let alone anything from the series. I’m not saying it captivated me in some super poetic way, but the imagery and the music combined with reading other people’s stories was enough for me to want to get the game. And I’m beyond glad I did. Great game. Great series.
I don't know how to describe the feeling I feel for this great melody. I like listening to her because for a moment she forgot all my problems and just like in the game I feel safe in this place that I call home.
It's the perfect music for a safe room. It provides a subtle comfort whilst making sure you still feel haunted and lost in a nightmare world... Neither wanting to stay and let your thoughts wander in fear nor leave and face the horror... Love and Hate it.
there is nothing like being in danger for about 4-5 minutes of gameplay, having 4 bullets left and walking into an unexpected safe room in these older games. the sense of security you get after surviving all of that is amazing
One of the BEST games I HAVE EVER PLAYED in my life! Heck, I am playing it to this day, too! It's amazing! A truly amazing experience! The REmake, Zero, 3, and the first Outbreak are my favourite ones! Anyway, this theme is both relaxing and terrifying! That "ambient scream" (can't describe it in a different way) freaks me out!
I'm playing the whole series for the first time and out of what I've played so far, the REmake, RE7 and RE2 Remake are my favorites of the series. RE5 was okay and I struggled getting into RE6.
This song means a lot to me. The save room themes from RE 1-3 are really the best at what they do - a way to comfort you with the horror of what's going on. Taking the stress and making it palatable. They have a deep meaning for me and have been in my life since I was 9. Good ol' RE for 24 years. Rest never meant so much. 🥰❤️💘
I was 12 when this came out, I'm 26 now and the wave of nostalgia from this song, man. I remember just sitting in the save room hoping I didn't have to leave but at the same time I was all, "'I gotta get out of this scary ass mansion! " but then I'd go, " I'll leave in a min....maybe 5.... "
getting into this room after running away on a droplet of health left and hearing this music just made me immediately feel safe and sound like nothing could get me anymore fucking love the old days

The music that plays in your home on a summer night when no one is home.
A year ago I was having trouble at work, hence dealing with a lot of stress every day.
I was at a really dark place and somehow that one hour of listening to this with headphones, saved me.
Grateful that I saved the game.
Life doesn't always give you ink ribbons..
Hope life is better for you now bud
***** god bless you

Lol ah I see, yes, the 90's was exciting, it felt more futuristic than the actual future that followed it, it seems like vibe culture has completely died if that makes sense, no real image springs to mine with the 2000s... I don't know, I just think the 90's were where it was at!

my favorite game by far.
It calls for another remake today though. Exploring the hallways of that mansion with a modern over the shoulder camera angle is how the game should be experienced in the 2020s. If any of the RE games need a remake it's the first one, as the 2002 game definitely looks aged with all due respect.
I said both of these exact things to my girlfriend moments before I read your post. Are you me?
@@PlanetShlorpianFixed camera angles is what made it so great IMO.
Whatz with the blasphemy geeza?
No, you will see it again when we get the "real life" graphics where you basically are playing Resident Evil but the graphics are equivalent to literally an episode of Walking Dead.
Honestly, how the fuck was this a GameCube game?
Agreed, I felt the same way when I first got the PS2 and saw how realistic the asphalt looked in Gran Turismo 3.
@@boxwiHell ya! A TWD comment, I’m watching it still!
I absolutely love how this tune manages to capture both soothing calmness while at the same time maintaining an eeriness that keeps you on edge. These two things should be in conflict with each other, and yet this combines them seamlessly.

Two of my friends and I were coming back home late at night after a party, we were baked , and I had this song on my headphones:
They had their hood on and they were slowly driving their bike juste in front of me , in this long straight street where all the houses seems to have been copy-past next to each other.
That's how great this composition is.

When I got my ps5 I downloaded re1 remake and beat it 4 times

I remember running from a hunter with low health while I ran into this room, I felt comfort. I stayed in this room for 10 minutes of rethinking my strategy. This music is perfect for thinking!!!
The warm light makes you relax.
+badBrad2288 Couldn't have said it better myself.
This deserves a Grammy for best sound bruh
I love this song that the fact is you are safe in one room and the terrors are at the other side of the door but can't get to you....
Despite it being eerie as hell, no song ever made me feel more safe.

For my dad. But I'm on Mac so I can't use rpgmaker as I did on windows [sadly wine isn't compatible for new versions of Mac :/ ]
The saferooms are always such a nice place.

Yea they need a safe room with a soudtrack that can match this
As far as I can tell, no auto-save functions were mentioned in the demo so it might be possible to see the return of typewriters
That would be too good to be true!
That'd be a little outdated feeling but still be dope af
it was. already confirmed that RE7 it's going to have a save room system. Also, the theme has been released too. Search for it here on youtube.
reminds me a lot of the loading screen from Dark Souls 1, song is called "Souls of Fire",
similar harp arpeggios with some ethereal background droning melody, awesome combo
Well this came first, but it goes all the way back to Aquatic Ambience from Donkey Kong and that probably took it's inspiration from classical music. To me, that style of composition makes for the most relaxing music.
You know when you understand a piece of music so much it became timeless.. this is one of them.
the save rooms and music offered a very important element to these series.
@116565723865593323323
But it didn't play the music, did it? That was a pretty scary scene though (it was RE2) Sure made me jump when it happened.

It's very strange how a tune like that with a very scary meaning can make me feel home and in a state of peace that i barely get in the real life
there is nothing like being in danger for about 4-5 minutes of gameplay, having 4 bullets left and walking into an unexpected safe room in these older games. the sense of security you get after surviving all of that is amazing
