Kindergarten teacher sobs when Secret Santa surprises her with a car at school

- Secret Santa is back and this Christmas is bigger than ever!
The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local man gift more than $500,000 this holiday season. A lot more. Secret Santa is a real person who wants to remain anonymous and hopes to help as many people as he can.
We will be surprising deserving people and families every day from now until Christmas with gifts unique to their circumstances.
Darci Orchard is the type of person who makes everyone in the room feel loved and cared for the moment you meet her. But behind her smile, there is a woman who has experienced tremendous hardship.
She is a single mom of three awesome kids. Her oldest daughter has Down syndrome and is much like a toddler trapped in a teenager's body. Caring for her daughter is often exhausting, both physically and mentally, but Darci carries this challenge with love and grace.
Darci has supported her kids as a kindergarten teacher at Templeview Elementary. When COVID canceled classes, Darci organized a teacher parade and even delivered graduation signs to each of her kindergartner's homes so they would know they were loved and valued.
Last winter, Darci was out of work for nearly a month as she was very ill and her daughter was hospitalized with influenza and pneumonia. This led to further financial strain as she paid medical bills and worried about how to help her young students continue to learn while she was incredibly sick and caring for her own children.
Darci's modest vehicle broke down last fall and the repairs have been too costly for her to get fixed. Her neighbors sold her an old car that had been intended to be driven by their teenager and she has been limping along with this for a year, though this vehicle is not reliable for any form of long-distance travel. She had been saving to pay for repairs on her car, but this summer someone helping to water her lawn while she was away with family neglected to turn off the hose and she returned to a flooded basement. Once again, money that she had been saving had to be used to cover repairs on her home.
Darci needs a reliable car that is big enough to fit her three teens and their gear. She needs to be able to safely travel to Twin Falls so that her kids can spend time with their grandparents and she can have some respite.

Right. I’ve watched these surprises for 2 years now and I would be slightly excited too meet him.
If I was rich I would give gifts like this.
You know, I used to feel the same way. Over time I came to realize that I was probably never going to have this level of wealth. I do however feel blessed to have the things I have. As I have grown older I have found that even small gestures can help someone through a tough time. A $50 tip to a waitress, paying for someones groceries ahead of you in line, baking cookies for someone or just lending a listening ear to show them they aren't alone can all be an encouragement to someone. Never underestimate your act of kindness, a little can go a long way.

Nate is simply the messenger, albeit a very effective one! The donors are wealthy individuals and sometimes local companies. Personal charity is a very important part of the American way of life.
Nate is just the messenger but he does it so humbly and with such care that he moves a lot of us.
It's wonderful isnt it. I dont think we have an equivalent here in the UK, but I may be wrong.

@@jennifernolan4524 I suppose the shows that Davina does, come the closest to altruistic surprises for unsuspecting people. Or that old show, Secret Millionaire, maybe? I've watched a few vids of a guy called BI Phakathi in South Africa who surprises people living or begging on the streets or those living in poverty in homes without power etc.
It's so heartwarming to see the genuine happiness her fellow staff members expressed. I think I'm moving to Idaho!

@@davidp8627 Not necessarily. He may just have a signed a deal w/ Hyundai where he gets discounts for using them regularly.
These current times haven't been easy, but I'm glad Secret Santa is still going strong to give us some wholesomeness in these times. Secret Santa has a direct impact on these people's lives, but I think it's safe to say that they're giving every viewer a gift as well. Thank you, Secret Santa, if you're reading this

She’s such a sweet lady I love how all of her fellow teachers were jumping for joy with her.
By far my favorite.... after the first check she said, "I need to hug somebody!" and the total outpouring of love from her colleagues immediately broke me.

There are wealthy people doing things like this in every state but most often they don’t put it online. We know of many people who provide funds to local charities and others who need help. I think it is a HUGE privilege to be able to do this. I appreciate that people want to protect their privacy. But I’m also glad that here they’ve a way to share these stories so that we can be encouraged by their generosity and maybe step up in our own way. It warms my heart to know that we have people here in America who do this. They’re using their wealth not only to provide jobs for many people but also to bless those in need. It strengthens the fabric of our communities and our Nation when we are made aware of a tiny fraction of these blessings. We all need reminders that Santa is real.

God sets the limits of Satan’s power to cause pain in this world; and tho that concept is way above my pay-grade, Job in his unspeakable sufferings was able to say, “I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will take his stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes-I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!” Job 19:25-27 . I live in chronic pain, in the here and now. My 16 yr old niece died of cancer on christmas morning, 2008. No matter the story, and least of importance my own, we live in a world of suffering/death; agreed. For now. I believe as Job did in antiquity, millennia before my time, that I too will see my Redeemer, when He returns to take his stand upon this earth, with the final say on Satan’s current rule. The corruptible to be raised incorruptible; bodies made new, to live upon the earth, renewed. And tho I live in America, and can see why that might be held against me, I can only reply with the words of the Christ on that one, when he said, ‘many who are first shall be last, and the last shall be first.’

I’ve watched these East Idaho secret Santa’s for a few years now and everyone seems so appreciative and blessed. I’m not even from the US! With all that we’ve been dealing with all over the world, a little early Christmas cheer is great! Love and blessings from England 🏴
This one really hit me. I remember being a younger mom, and going through some really tough periods when I wasn't sure how to pull us out. I cried right with her. It's amazing what you do, but in this year, I think being able to watch these beautiful acts of love will help so many of us through. I wish there was something beyond Christmas to help us the rest of the way through winter.
