We are a family of 6 living life in North Pole, Alaska! Where Santa Claus House is right down the street! We love spending time together as a family, having fun, learning through homeschooling, growing in our faith, and building our forever home! My husband and I have been together 48 years and married for 47 . I became critically ill in Aug. Ken only left my side to come home and take a shower for the 3 months I spent in the hospital and rehab . I love that man.

Thank you Bert for so eloquently verbalizing the appreciation of the contributions of all the women out there who make a house a home. I know my husband believes as you do but just can't bring himself to express it because it's not his way (he's of an older generation than you), but I know he feels it it when my daughter tells me his whole mood changes when I walk in the door from a trip. Mom's home--all is right with the universe again.
Let Audrey know that she is a Champ! She got a responsible position. It is to keep Dad and Garrett straight and to hold down the home front! You really didn't get left out Sweetie. ❤️

Bert, my husband passed away and then the next day my dad passed away, left both my mom and myself beside ourselves!! Us women feel the same way!!

My husband traveled to jobs that took anywhere from 4 - 7 months when our kids were teens. He missed so much of their growing up years and the team work that goes into a marriage. It was a real learning curve when he came home.
Amazing. Even before Everlyn took her first lesson, just her joyful "flipping" around the house showed talent. Look at her now, WOW. She is blessed to have parents who are so involved and able to go the the extra mile to help her to develop into the best that she can be. She is a natural and I look forward to following her career. Love your family. The extra joy that Olivia brings to all of you is priceless.

Wow Evelyn has gotten absolutely INCREDIBLE with her skills. Im so so proud of her. Keep on it. She could dance and do so many amazing fun things with all she is learning. I have been watching you for the last several years... Just want to say how inspiring your family is and to thank you for sharing your life in the far north with people from all over the world. I'm American but have lived in Greece for many years...because of my wonderful husband. And yes, when your spouse is away for the first couple of hours it's kind of fun... but then, time for them to come home! But, it is important to keep in touch with family that is far away too. Wait until it's 49 years I always think my home is even cold drab until I come home. Kids are growing up so fast. Olivia is beautiful and so lucky. Audrey is so responsible. Garret is a boy and I am waiting on Olympics for Evelyn
WE got married in Vegas in 1993. We went to the Excalibur for our honeymoon dinner with family and saw the same show with dinner! Brought back many memories!! Your daughter is so good! I see a career with her. Should be very proud!!

My husband went away for a week for work. I sobbed at the airport when I was dropping him off. It was one of the longest weeks of my life.
I feel EXACTLY the same as you Bert. A few days is good... kinda feels like freedom to have your own time. No schedule nothing you have to do to please another as the kids don't care. HOWEVER.... I also say that absence truly does make the heart grow fonder when you truly do miss someone that just fits with you!!!! I think someone's it's important to have that rare time away!!!
There isn't anything that Audrey can't do. She can take over and do it all. If she doesn't know how I bet she asks or looks it up and does it. She will do great in life and I can see her being a nurse (from a retired RN). She is always alert to what is going on around her and with the people she is with and was so great with her great grandma. Slow and steady wins the race girl.

Well done Evelyn at your meet , Las Vegas looks nice . We’ve been married for 20’years this august, been together for 28 years, virtually since we left school . Im a long distance lorry driver and I could be away from home for days at a time , while my wife looks after and makes a home , looks after our disabled daughter and her needs , my wife is amazing .
I been with my partner 17 years and god I enjoy those moments when we aren't together for a few days. We are rarely apart for more than a few hours so i do enjoy it when i get that me time alone for a few days.

We’ve been married for 28 years this year! Praise God! And without Him, our lives would not be quite so blessed. We have raised 2 grown, wonderful children and we are a new Mimi and Pa to the most precious granddaughter EVER! And of course, we’re prejudiced that way….
I can probably count on both hands the days/nights we’ve been apart and my kids will tell you we’re a hot mess that way.
I’m lost without him and he’s lost without me.
I think I’ll keep him!

It's a fine line. I love being needed, but when my husband makes a big deal about how needed I am, I feel terrible guilt for being gone and cannot enjoy myself while I'm away. So as much as I love my family and I am grateful they need me, I also need them to be okay if I'm gone for a few days. If all I do is worry that they are okay, then I might as well not have gone in the first place.

My daughter danced competition jazz,tapp,ballet, and hip hop for 10 years... she is a senior now and sticks to cheer only these days.. definitely fun stuff... good luck to all dancers and girls competing 👏🏻

To be fair it goes both ways. I cried a lot when my husband was gone for 5 months. It's nice to have someone to comfort me.

Ev!!!! That was AMAZING! really Solid routines! Just a few bubbles in beam, other than that you are graceful and at the same time really strong and powerful on your tumbling. Sharp and confident moves, perfect hands and legs... you can get as far as you want! The dismount on bars? Is part of the process, is called being a gymnast and you were a brave one, competing the alternative. You even tried the dismount on the warm up you didn't give up. And that's how it works, you don't give up, you enjoy the process and be confident that the exercise always get back!!! I know that I'm gonna see you competing that dismount soon girl!! .congratulations! Amazing meet ❤
My husband and I hate to be separated for any amount of time. We have been over the years with his job but now he is retired so we have every day together. Its so great. Making up for lost time. We are Blessed.

My husband and I have been together for 4 years (not legally married but we call each other husband and wife) and I woke up this morning to a really long post my husband put on Facebook saying basically the same thing. That he was so happy to have me and how much I do around the house (cooking and cleaning) and how well I am with our children (and his children from his last relationship) and it just made me so happy to see it ❤️❤️
