honestly it doesn't surprise me, I have a friend who starred in a movie a few years ago (I wasn't aware)... I was watching, and as soon as the scene came up with her in it, I couldn't finish the movie. It's like it completely took me out of the magic because I knew the person? the character faded and it was just the actor. I reckon it's like this for a lot of actors who don't watch their own movies.

Also, it makes sense that Milla Jovovich wasn't included since her character barely spoke throughout the entire movie. I love how in character Wiley (Mitch) is.
Funny thing I noticed too about that is they have a tendency to include her on the box art of the movie as well, and you’re exactly right, she barely spoke a line.
Sasha Jensen is doing a really good job. I wonder if he’s still acting ? He’s really on point keeping his character consistent with how he was back in the day
Dazed and confused came out in 93 and halloween 4 came out in 88 so that doesn’t add up. He just never got offered big time roles, mainly regulated to side characters in shows/movies
i dont know if he is wooderson now, but he definitely was wooderson when they hired him for the role. the way he got the role was completely random. he was in a bar in austin and chatted up someone who worked on the film- either the director or casting director. either way, his whole demeanor being himself was what got him the role.
John Hughes & Richard Linklater are unparalleled as filmmakers in connecting to the YA experience. They have both worked outside of this genre very successfully but inside it they have no equals.
Poor Slaterson, really taking his role seriously. LOL This has been my favorite movie since I watched it for the first time at the age of 8. This started my classic rock love.
Lmao Donnie is awesome man! This brings such a smile to my face. I was born in 95. Didn’t discover this gem til like 2017. And instantly loved it. Such a feel good movie. And Michelle Burke (Jodi) has always been beautiful af to me. Loved how Darla’s character has the same energy too when she does the air raid. Wish Ben woulda been here. Seriously I can’t shout out everyone but they did great and this was brilliant to do this

I grew up in Cleburne Texas and watched this film just a few years after it was released. It is as authentic and true for the 90s as it was for the 70s. Cheers to a wonderful portrait of adolescence in a corner of the world that is still magic.
Everybody Wants Some is great but I can’t speak on the authenticity since I wasn’t alive yet!! I can say that Dazed & Confused was COMPLETELY authentic for my high school experience
This was so rad! Thanks so much to everyone for doing this one and only readthrough. I was a freshman is 1976, and even though I grew up in the Santa Clara Bay Area of CA and not Texas, I can really relate to this film and those times. Everything about this film is so great, includng even lighter touches like the authentic props; from the concert t-shirts, the bicentennial Kiss poster, and characters ending most sentences with "man". Dazed and Confused is such a modern day classic.
Parker Posey was the best part of Scream 3. Joey Lauren Adams hasn't aged a day. She's gorgeous and so is Adrianne Palicki as the teacher & Pickford's mom. I loved her in the movie Legion.

And nobody could ever play a better Pink than Jason himself. he IS pink. you see how he tries to keep everybody on their toes and kind of participes in everything... i love jason london man... i love this movie so fucking much, i didnt know rick would participate in this, but hes the man!!!

There was a dazed and confused 2!! It was called everybody wants some!! made by richard linklater as well. he didn’t want to call it dazed & confused 2 because it’s different charcters
@@kindkidbk yea... it was it's own Dazed inspired movie in the 80's... but i think what thunderbird and many others like myself mean by a part 2, is a movie that catches up with the characters from Dazed and Confused.... not a movie made in the same format of capturing youthful party days... though after seeing how some of them have aged I think there's only a few of them i'd like to see another movie made based around their characters... I think the obvious route and solution to go in making a part 2 is to just go with a Wooderson spinoff, because Matthew is the only name and actor that still has any real notoriety and the talent to drive the movie. I think you add Jason London, basically all the seniors... with maybe just some mini cameos from the rest of the cast

@@kindkidbk well of course a dazed part two with them all in college is what we would have all loved but the ship has sailed on that script and storyline... it would have to be more like what Cobra Kai has done, giving us insight into all the characters 30 years later into their adult lives... but again... they couldn't shoot it as present day, it would have to be the 90's early 2000's, because even though it was made in the 90s, the characters were from the 70's, so to match the 30 years the actors have aged, the story would have to catch us up with them and be landing around 1996-2006.... which actually would be an interesting dynamic, with the way Linklater likes to capture the times... to see "the older 70's" generation dealing with aging in the 90's and “90's kids” It actually makes the most sense if we're gonna include Everybody wants some as the Dazed Part 2... then you've got the 70's movie (dazed), the 80's movie(everybody wants some), and the 90's movies (Still Dazed and Confused) that brings us full circle back to the original cast... and then Boyhood covers the 2000's. And Linklater will have captured what life was like in story spanning over 4 decades.

Watching Matthew McConaughey do this table read has convinced me, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that he actually IS Wooderson.

It actually makes the most sense if we're gonna include Everybody wants some as the Dazed Part 2...
then you've got the 70's movie (dazed), the 80's movie(everybody wants some), and the 90's movies (Still Dazed and Confused)
that brings us full circle back to the original cast... and then Boyhood covers the 2000's. And Linklater will have captured what life was like in story spanning over 4 decades.
