It’s ABSOLUTELY created.Children are born neutral and ‘imprinted’ by what is modelled around them and how they are treated.
Temperament of the child is also a factor…but NPDs have arrested development-why because they were neglected either psychological emotionally physically or all 3.
Invalidated by their caregivers which is why they are always seeking validation.
NPD is an ‘adaptive’ survival mechanism employed to self protect them in childhood that shapes their personality.

If it is true, why didn't my eldest sister, who was traumatized by both my parents, become a narcissist?

englishteacher3253 because everybody are not the same. Stop thinking that ALL people who experienced childhood trauma will ALL respond the same

I think it's a mixture of genetics and life experiences. It's probable from what I know of my Narcs past life etc that he was of a disposition where he learnt how to get the gest from people, as some people are cold and calculated in their methods. 🍒

Agreed. I think it’s formed, too. Babies come out ‘clean’, but through ancestral/ family epigenetics and upbringing it shapes them. At least that’s my take on it.

Yes, it does. Parents don’t provoke your children to anger.

Good informative video. How can this guy be a narcissist though? He has too much self awareness to be narcissistic. He may have done bad things and treated people in bad ways, but surely a narcissist wouldn't have the self awareness or emotional maturity to be able to recognise this, much less admit to it..

The narcissist I grew up with had narcissistic traits and became full-blown once she became an adult. I strongly believe that it is nature that loads the gun and nurture that pulls the trigger.

@foreman_spike Does that mean narcissists are born with fragile nerves, which get affected by parental negligence or abuse?
