Jimin at age 11 strudied, performed, & competed (winning every competition) in hip hop, popping (which he excelled in), & street dancing, attending the renowned Busan Just Dance Academy, where an instructor waived the quite high tuition fee for him at one point, because he was that good! He did this while attending middle school, loving sports, being quite athletic, he joined the football team! Jimin is also a quite good basketball player, as well as lightning fast on track!! He then went on to study & perform contemporary. After a certain performance, the media called Jimin, 'The rising star of Busan'. He also started attending Busan High School of the Arts where he was top student with honors, continually! Jimin also studied ballet & traditional Korean dance! Jimin excelled in academics, especially math & science, continually getting perfect scores, which is why he was class president for 9 yrs consecutively throughout his schooling! Jimin even had offers to dance overseas, but declined, because he also wanted to become a singer, to the dismay of a dance instructor who said 'The world of dance was going to lose a great artist'!!
Jimin also trained in various forms of martial arts for 8 yrs, achieving a Blackbelt in Taekwondo, also trained in Kumdo (Korean form of kendo). He even was given a scholarship to study more extensively in China because he was so good!! Jimin has been able to apply his martial arts training which gave him his astounding flexibility & amazing inner core strength, as well as incorporate all the very vastly different styles of dance into his own unique phenomenal dancing skills, that include all his outstanding gravity defying moves, and attention to every detail, cleanest of lines, his grace, & lyricism, focusing on every detail all the way to his fingertips, as well as being able to show, (just like he does with his vocals), all the emotion & whatever feelings the particular song, is trying to convey even to his facial expressions!! His stage presence is unlike no other!! There is a reason BigHit Entertainment officially gave Jimin the title of both Main Dancer as well as Lead Vocalist!!

Jimin is just...mesmerizing to watch. His movement is so graceful and elegant, and it shows even when he's just walking regularly. And I love how that fluidity carries over into the more hip hop or modern (is that the right word? idk) choreos that BTS often does, because it comes across almost like an intentional laziness? I don't know how to put it into words properly, but it just seems to affect every little move he does, whether he's dancing or not, and I think that's beautiful

Love the explanation about the arm movements and moving the elbows first. Glad to hear it explained and recognized. I've always thought his arm movements even in the faster choreography are so beautiful and to me what make him stand out.

I am a new subscriber and I am enjoying your reactions. It's nice to hear the perspective of a singer/dancer for a more technical analysis. I am always blown away by their styling. They sometimes wear things that are traditionally feminine (lacy, flowy garments) and when combined with their masculine dance moves and mix of masculine and feminine voice tones combines it all into a beautiful mix. I too am a Jimin bias and often have to rewind segments of his dance for "research purposes".

People don't understand that you can dance on the back beat, the mid tempo, or on top of the beat. When I freestyle a lot of times I like to hit the back beat to give off a different vibe. To many people who do not sing, play instruments, or have limited musicality it looks off beat because they may not hear the back beat clearly or can't separate the different parts of the song.

If you are concerned with the song itself, so many reactors do indeed listen to English lyric vids, from the studio version straight from the album, also without a problem!! But it is a different story the vid came from the official Japanese DVD!! I so appreciate your concern & that you're aware of the precautions of seeing anything Japanese though, because they are indeed known for being very strict about copyright violation!! I'm so looking forward to you seeing that Jimin 4K focus Fancam of "For You" from Heartthrob Jimin, that was recommended here from the 2018 Osaka, Japan Fanmeet concert!! Jimin's dancing is truly breathtaking mesmerizing, just so stunningly beautiful in it!! So elegant, seamless, & effortless!! Like he's gliding on ice!!! The fan made Fancams made by Fancamers from Army fansites, some who've been filming for yrs traveling worldwide specifically filming certain BTS members are usually exceptionally made!! They post the vids for the sake of Army worldwide who'd otherwise never get to see some legendary spectacular performances that would have otherwise been missed!! Most of the time they are not only safe to see, but some are actually filmed better then the professional filmed vids that at times zoom in on certain members, or pan out at some of the most inopportune times, missing some amazing choreo or a vocal sung by another member, or certain dance move!! Like in the newer 2019 ver.of Let Go, I highly recommend you see the Jimin focus Fancam by JIMIN BCD so you can see Jimin's stunning dance moves that just aren't captured in the vid you saw a few days ago!! Jimin over the years have had some so iconic legendary stunningly spectacular performances that would have never been seen nor documented would it not have been for these incredibly awesome Fancams, that I will forever be grateful for!! The professional cameras so often have zoomed in for closeups of other certain members while JIMIN'S amazing dancing has so sadly gone unnoticed so often!! Some of the best fancam channels are from JIMIN BCD, or SLOW BUT STEADY, & Jamjam Park (who has filmed some of the older now iconic, legendary Fancams) to name a few!! I, myself recommended Jimin focus Fancam from Speak yourself: LA "Fake Love" from the Rose bowl performance by JIMIN BCD, as well as also from the 2018 Osaka Fanmeet "Best of Me" JIMIN 4K Fancam by Slow But Steady! The one you saw was from the next year and missed some of Jimin's amazing intricate footwork which this choreo has but is missed quite a lot if not filmed properly!! I did leave you links!
