I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Although my channel is mostly known for dance analysis, I am currently inactive in the dance community.
If Jimin wasn't an idol and he would've continued training as a dancer, I have no doubt he would be one of the top 3 dancers in the world.
Yes, definitely🙂 But I’m glad he became an idol because otherwise we would possibly not be able to discover his beautiful voice which is for me one of the most unique and distinctive voices in the world❤️
@@mimimaria4987 i like his dancing more than his singing to be honest. A part of me wishes that he continued training as a dancer so that he could discover all the hidden abilities that he has and possibly become one of the top best dancers of asia

This is why Jimin is my favorite dancer in kpop. He is just so beautiful to watch. I've never seen anyone express themselves and the story of the music as wonderfully as he does. And the thing is he's not constrained to one style - he's so damn versatile and does everything from hip hop styles to urban styles and krumping to ballet to contemporary to jazz and MJ inspired moves and excels at each one. I'm sometimes shook by just how much innate talent and absolute dedication he must've had as a student (and now) to be doing things that take years to learn for even professional ballet dancers when he only went to art school for a little over a year. He really is a dance genius 🥺❤

The thing about Jimin is he’s a really big perfectionist. It scares me sometimes cause I don’t want him over doing himself. In the end he always does a great job and his dancing is so beautiful.❤️💙=💜
I really worry about it too. he can be really hard on himself is no one keeps his perfectionism in check.
And he has problem on his neck... (chronic neck) ( muscles spasms) but still he is hardworking... he NEED to take care on his health
I am a perfectionst too and trust me, I know the struggle. ☹️
Especially, Jimin, as a performer,
I know that's extra hard on him because he is not just affecting his mental health if he did not reached his expectations but also his physical health if he push himself too hard.
This is one of the many reasons why Jimin is my favorite artist of all time, his passion and dedication go beyond all logic and imagination, I feel really blessed to be able to live in the same era as him to appreciate his art and beauty without limits. thanks for this reaction.
That "This is what sets him apart from KPOP" is on point. Not even into kpop before, when I got into BTS I got addicted watching all Jimin's fancam and other performances. He is just beautiful and satisfying to watch. I think Jimin gives an edge to BTS because of his skillsets. One of many reasons why BTS is more than just a kpop and bigger than kpop itself.
That´s why Jimin is recognized as one of the best dance body lines in kpop industry . The way he moves always tells a stroy behind the song.
The kick move you were taking about at 5:20 is called an illusion! And yep professional ballet dancers have all watched him do it and been really impressed because it's an insanely difficult and risky movement to do and if you don't pivot properly you could injure yourself really badly or even break your neck but he does it really effortlessly 😅 And the leap was a Grand Jete! Again a movement that he slayed with perfect placements
It is an illusion, but the jump is more coupé jeté, not grand jeté I think, because Jimin goes into it from the turn
That is so funny because we have a similar move in figure skating and it's ALSO called an illusion! I always find it cute when things are called the same name even in different styles.
Jimin has a history in different styles of martial arts, which I think also helps with his dancing. Hes such a perfectionist. But hes amazing to watch in whatever he does

i could talk forever about jimin being the best dancer ever; words aren't enough to describe how talented, captivating, hardworking and mesmerizing he is. you watch him dance and you realize he was truly born to do it. his talent is out of this world.

You should watch the reactor Z's reaction to this video. He is a dancer + does martial arts just like Jimin and he talks about how some of Jimin's moves are moves used in martial arts.
Lets not forget that Jimin has a long background in not only poppin, hip hop dancing, some street dance and then contemporary + some ballet and traditional dance from school but also is a black belt in Taekwondo, did 8 years of Kendo + some hapkido and chinese martial arts too.

Jimin studied contemporary dance and he was THAT GOOD to the point that his teachers want him to stay in that field. But he took the hard road and left the promising future of it and came to Seoul to be an idol trainee instead. One thing about Jimin is that once he put his mind to it, he'd excel in it so much and he works the hardest to show the perfect stage. The excellence of him is a combination of natural born-talent and endless hard work.

This whole thing gets even more amazing, when you realise that he has a chronic back pain, yet he is always so professional on and off stage. It's truly admirable. I really hope that something could be done about his condition as he truly loves being on stage and I hope that he can be there as long as he wishes
4:43 the dance move is called an illusion. With adequate technical training this dance move isn't very risky at all, especially with a lot of practise. This dance move is frequently added into dances. He does it so amazingly!!!
4:42Jimin uses a lot of his martial arts training/moves in his solo performances. That's why you see jumps and kicks that don't look like what you're used to seeing in modern dance.

I cried so hard. That mans dancing is the only person to ever bring me to literal tears. He is so impeccably talented I often can’t find the words to describe how incredible he is 😭
Jimin for me is the most complete dancer on Kpop industry he is a such amazing wonderful dancer!!!! Sometimes I'm afraid that he get a bad injury in his precious body!!!

I really wish words could express just how incredible I think this man is. I man not kidding when I say I think he is the best dancer/performer I have ever seen in my life. I have never seen someone utilize their body in a way of such power yet beautiful fluidity. The way he feels and hits every note in the song leaves me speechless. This mans talent is out of this world and his beauty is unreal along with it. There will never be another ParkJimin 👏🏻

Also appreciated when you pointed out particularly risky moves Jimin makes, but I think with the kicks Jimin's martial arts experience and excellence helps him a lot! My heart was in my mouth the whole way. Firstly, because we got to see Jimin's dance elegance, excellence & stupendous performance energy. Secondly, my heart ached to see that despite the muscle pain Jimin experienced he kept going, pushing through even when director said he was perfect. He's such a perfectionist, insisting on a second take to satisfy his own demands - BUT more for the fans! THAT is why he is the standard bearer for many Idols/Artists. Jimin's dedication to his craft is the stuff of LEGENDS! Jimin is truly a Consummate Professional, Phenomenal Performer & Stage Genius and this video proves it! I LOVED your reaction!

He’s exquisite in every sense of the word! Don’t forget, there’s a lot of martial arts influence in his dancing (the kicks); also, I’ve seen a lot of CZcamsr reactions of Filter with zero problems getting blocked.

Seeing Jimin so tired after that helps me to understand more about how much work goes into the dance.
I understood how much exercise it takes to be able to do that, but seeing him in this video helped me to feel or just sense the vibe of what the dance felt like for him.

What amazes me so so so much is that he suffers from chronic back pain, which I do too --from an accident-- and sometimes I can barely walk for half an hour forget about DANCING. He is one of the most talented (THE most, in my own humble opinion) dancers in Kpop but what endears him to me SO much is just how... hardworking he is. He gives and gives and GIVES in his performances, even during simple rehearsals, you can tell he puts out a 100% of not only his effort but also of himself. He is such an amazing performer (they all are, Jimin stands out in his own Jimin way haha). And he's so humble as well. He stays kind, humble and empathetic throughout it all and that makes him an amazing person to me.

The coreographer is Sérgio Reis, a brazilian. I practiced capoeira and it looks like a moviment from it. The dangerous spin. He said that he wanted to emphasize the interpretation of the members in dance.

As far as that twist he said that he could get injured on, I think his training in martial arts helps with those movements.

I don't think a lot of ppl talk abt all the work Jimin did that day alone, recording his solo, doing the shadows for both SG and JK, doing the general Black Swan choreo with the group and with addition the other takes of him from the video. Like literally that day for him was non stopping filming unless the other member were filming their parts. Such an amazing artist that takes his work so seriously.

The reason BigHit has release this behind the scenes video of Black Swan MV so late, like 1 year later is because they really don’t want all the attentions, praises & all the credit goes to Jimin, which is so ridiculous!
Jimin is the one who has done most hard works & put all the extra hours to perform this beautiful masterpiece & all BH wants is to use Jimin’s talents & hard work but they have always trying to minimize & diminishing the fact that Jimin & his incredible talents is crucial elements to create Black Swan MV & Performance!

Jimin is so amazing
As a dancer myself I see jimin as a huge inspiration he may not admit it to himself humble as he is but he is an insanely good dancer and honestly if he would only dance and would be able to fully concentrate on that well let's just say that wouldn't be fun for other dancers at all that said his character switch on stage is always such a baffling thing for me he dominates the stage so much so that I am kinda jealous yet it also just makes me beyond proud of him and being an army since I still remember him from when I first became an army which was in like 2013 right after they debuted he was always a really really insane dancer but he seriously stepped up his game okay gotta leave

4:57 I know what you're talking about because it has happened to me, not while dancing, but on a trampoline... lol. What sucks is that after that happens once, it'll happen much easier the second time even after healing.
The last jump jimin did is something I admire the most. I’m a hiphop dancer and it looks so easy and graceful but I know how hard such a jump actually is. You have to look like it was so easy but it is actually a very hard step to do and needs a lot of practice
