  • In this video I will be installing an 8 inch Joying android 10 touchscreen stereo along with an aftermarket bazooka 6 inch subwoofer. The system runs on Android 10 and features an internal DSP with coaxial and optical audio outputs, along with a dedicated subwoofer and front and rear line out ports. I will retain the factory aux in port and steering wheel controls and show you how to do everything to install this in your Ridgeline, every step of the way.

    Thanks for this video; was able to use this to install a new radio (although didn't do the sub); took about an hour - of which I'm pretty sure about 20 minutes was trying to get the wiring harness for the dash climate controls back on.

    I know this is old and not sure you even check this anymore but... Thanks to you I just did this to my 06 Ridgeline. Trying to get one of the three blanks out below the dash (where you're usb port is) to put a USB hub in one but can't figure out how to get them out. Tried prying with a razor knife but the blade was about to break.

I realize the description has a lot of items in their that I won't need. As I'm not changing amps. I don't have an aux port , etc. Would appreciate a little list of things to order besides the joying unit itself .

You initially said you planned to put in a couple set screws and then said you placed a couple of 1/8" screws. thanks.

    • @JackofAllMasterofNone
      @JackofAllMasterofNone  Před 2 lety

      No. I used a 1/8" drill bit to drill through the plastic male and female parts and then used some small screws I had laying around that fit the 1/8" holes to help retain the head unit tightly in the plastic retainers

    Ставил себе такую же китайскую балалайку, за не маленькие деньги, подключил все , кнопки на руле подключил, все играло и работало, было красиво и здорово, ставил экран 10 дюймов именно этот джоинг, как в видео. Итог отработал полгода и начал глючить экран и вскоре сдох окончательно. Хочу сказать , что по сравнению с этим китайским говном штатная голова от пионер играет на порядок круче. Теперь если буду ставить подобное, то через штатную голову . Магнитолу можно запихнуть в бардачок под штатной магнитолой и через AUX.

      Original subwoofer is powered by the head unit. It requires installing a external mono 2 ohm amp. But the factory subwoofer is garbage and is not worthy of the attention. It would be a good time to install a better subwoofer like I did in this video. I also had a factory subwoofer.

    Question for you, I have the RTL, with navigation. There is no little pocket and space next to it for the hazard switch, it's actually the face of the radio with the hazard switch mounting through it. I have the same exact head unit as you, I connected key 1 and key 2 (both from the headunit's side) to the steering wheel control cable (pin 15 on the car side). The ground cable on the car side, I just connect it to the 12v ground). I still have to figure out how the other 4 push to talk buttons get recognized by the head unit. I think the cable for those 4 buttons is actually located underneath the driver seat (gray, pin 10).

    I follow your videos and needs some help please. I also have a 1st gen Ridgeline and cannot get a good answer on if a head unit with 5Ch Preamp RCA Outputs; Front + Rear + 4V Subwoofer and
    2-Ohm Stable 300w Max 4Ch. Full Range Amplifier Built-in would be able to run all of the stock speakers and stock subwoofer? I'm a novice for this sort of thing. If you are inclined to help, the specific unit I am curious about is the Power Acoustik CPAA-70M Double Din. I'd like to avoid installing an amp but retain all speakers and the stock sub. Just wondering if this unit can accomplish that. Thanks

    • @JackofAllMasterofNone
      @JackofAllMasterofNone  Před 2 lety

      That unit would not support the OEM subwoofer. The outputs you are referencing are RCA outputs that require an external amplifier. You could run the door speakers with the head unit and would just need to add a small 1 channel mono amp to power the factory sub. The OEM head unit is a very unique piece of equipment that has a separate amp built in just for the sub.
