      Yeah Kimi in McLaren was so unbelievable at times, how fast he was at qualifying with a heavier fuel load or qualifying at the start of a session due to a DNF in the prev race (strange quali rules back then with the 1 lap qualifying etc), and then in the race would just be fighting forwards all the time. Super aggressive. Not saying he has changed but he was a beast back then.

    Kimi has to be one of the most beloved drivers in F1 history, whether it be casual fans or dedicated ones; you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who genuinely disliked Kimi. He's pure and honest, never tried to act like a celebrity, never chased fame, a class of his own - a true gentleman. I know it's common to montage Kimi's rage moments, but to me the most interesting are the moments when you catch a glimpse of how much he cares for the sport and his fellow drivers. When Charles Leclerc crashed, Kimi's radio message asking whether he was okay was a genuine moment. He cares, just doesn't need a t-shirt or social media posts to show that he does. Truly inspiring. Fun fact: Max's debut in F1 came along with a lot of criticism because he was so young and inexperienced, Kimi however made his debut, well being older, but with less racing experience compared to Verstappen.

    • @DimitriMoreira
      @DimitriMoreira Před 3 lety +12

      In the 00's was considered "very young" if you debuted at 22 or 23. Alonso did it with 21 and was right away taken back as a test driver.
      When Schumacher begun it was about 24-25 that was considered "very young". Same goes for Verstappen, the FIA thought 19 to be "very young" and Verstappen debuted at 17 if I'm not mistaken.
      The problem is that, at 23 or 25, you're already a man. At 21 you're kind of, depends on the person and level maturity, but at 19 and younger? You're a kid.
      Max's debuted so young that the FIA had to implement a rule to prevent it happening in the future.
      If not what else would we be seeing? 12 year old kids by 2030? Or just plain 7 year olds by 2060?
      Jokes apart, we won't be seeing anyone younger than 18 thanks to the rules.
