Kimi is the greatest among other drivers. he could have a nice 3 WDC but unfortunately, 2003 and 2005 were his unlucky years. and he's the same as Vettel, that he needs a proper car that suits him. now he's driving F1 just for hobbies and I proud of him of what he achieved. especially the last Ferrari WDC in 2007.

Kimi changed the driving style for Ferraris car in 2007., the car with more stable back. In Mclaren he loved to have little bit loose back so that he can attack kerbs and I tihink he made a mistake with that, so that is not a true what are you saying 'proper car'. Every driver needs a proper car for winning, Lewis, Fernando, Alonso, Michael, Senna...
watching kimi in the mclaren era is just beautiful and heart breaking at the same time.
He was at the top of his game, beautiful cars and brutal speed sometimes just smashing the other cars in qualifying. IF ONLY they had been more reliable, I reckon Kimi would be a three time WC now. So much potential just thrown away due to the unreliability...
Yeah Kimi in McLaren was so unbelievable at times, how fast he was at qualifying with a heavier fuel load or qualifying at the start of a session due to a DNF in the prev race (strange quali rules back then with the 1 lap qualifying etc), and then in the race would just be fighting forwards all the time. Super aggressive. Not saying he has changed but he was a beast back then.
Easily 3 wc !

Kimi has to be one of the most beloved drivers in F1 history, whether it be casual fans or dedicated ones; you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who genuinely disliked Kimi. He's pure and honest, never tried to act like a celebrity, never chased fame, a class of his own - a true gentleman. I know it's common to montage Kimi's rage moments, but to me the most interesting are the moments when you catch a glimpse of how much he cares for the sport and his fellow drivers. When Charles Leclerc crashed, Kimi's radio message asking whether he was okay was a genuine moment. He cares, just doesn't need a t-shirt or social media posts to show that he does. Truly inspiring. Give us a Podium, Kimi!
The man, the myth, The LEGEND! F1 will never be the same when he decides to retire.
Are you any change a relative with Bonita Pietilä,(casting director of The Simpsons) just lookin your profile picture.
@@tomi_9212 Unfortunately no I'm not (at least by my knowledge). Never actually thought someone would point that out.
I don't believe in luck being a major factor in winning championships, but Kimi was by far the unluckiest driver on the grid in a McLaren.
Yeah I agree. It's sport, luck has a small part to play, but in Kimi's case I remember just being so gutted at nearly every race seeing his car blow up or he get taken out by someone. He seriously was the unluckiest driver.
I mean his 2003 season was lost just becasue of 1 race where his engine blew up when he was leading. He had 2 more retirements than Schumacher, had he finnished only 1 of those he would almost certainly have been champion.
And 2005... well where do you start really? It's seriously amazing how bad his reliability was in 2005 and that he even managed to keep his spirits up to fight for the title. But when that car worked... man did it work, i might even say it's my favorite Formula 1 car ever.
03 and 05 should have been his. Apparently one of the engineers said back then, Kimi was never one to nurse a car, he would always push to the limit. It was all or nothing
_Alonso & Vandoorne have entered the chat?_
@@lzh4950 yeah but they weren't going to fight for a title even if the honda engine didn't blow up every five seconds. Sure they were unlucky but it isn't on the same scale as loosing a title because your car didn't work.

Exactly better than Alonso imo, if he won at the Nurburgring in *that* race in 2005 he could give won the championship
How can you even not win championship if you score 7 wins and 5 podiums in one season...
Answer: Engine failure in rest of the races. He was the absolute best, no question about it. He was the fastest driver on F1 by landslide. He was like prime hamilton, but didint have overpower car and team.

Young or Old
Kimi is the real Gold
Fun fact: Max's debut in F1 came along with a lot of criticism because he was so young and inexperienced, Kimi however made his debut, well being older, but with less racing experience compared to Verstappen.
In the 00's was considered "very young" if you debuted at 22 or 23. Alonso did it with 21 and was right away taken back as a test driver.
When Schumacher begun it was about 24-25 that was considered "very young". Same goes for Verstappen, the FIA thought 19 to be "very young" and Verstappen debuted at 17 if I'm not mistaken.
The problem is that, at 23 or 25, you're already a man. At 21 you're kind of, depends on the person and level maturity, but at 19 and younger? You're a kid.
Max's debuted so young that the FIA had to implement a rule to prevent it happening in the future.
If not what else would we be seeing? 12 year old kids by 2030? Or just plain 7 year olds by 2060?
Jokes apart, we won't be seeing anyone younger than 18 thanks to the rules.
+ Kimi drove against Max' dad which is pretty dope
