Sirius has two other things going for her (no not her boobs lol)
1: Uses a DD gun rather than a CL gun, which has higher DPS (on all armor types, assuming you use the correct gun), vastly superior firing angle (360 vs 115 to 120) and faster rate of fire. Her damage is still quite low by modern standard thanks to power creep, but it's still something.
2. Her CV buff does not go away if she dies, unlike the ARA users.
Just to let you know: Everything points towards the Dido's being basically the brittish Atlantas.
Yes, it means that Dido, Sirius, Hermionie, and Charybdis, are all basically San Diego as a maid...

But there exist a historical reason for why that's the case: The Atlantas used the 5-inch twin-mount guns, and the Didos used the 5.25-inch twin-mount guns, both Dual-Purpouse/AA-Specialized guns, as their main guns. I could go in detail, but Drachinifel does it much better in his AA-gun ranking video.

Si-ree-us, or 'Siri'-ous is how it should be said. 'Sirus' is.... missing an I. It's somewhat amusing how frequently herself and Dido get mispronounced. Though I admit, you're the first I've heard pronounce Dido correctly off the bat like that. Though that said, it could be the speed that you say it, breezing quickly over the second I. So... ehh, figured I'd point it out that the second I should be more emphasised.
Review itself is fun and enjoyable! Sirius was introduced back in a time where I feel yostar/manjuu actually cared about history somewhat. Giving her a better AA, and worse FP makes a lot of sense in this regard as the Dido class were meant to be AA cruiser escorts. Not quite the 'All rounders' of the Town and Edi subclass. Her torps being lower, by such a significant margin is something I was aware of, but unfortunately does throw something of a wrench in the works for the historical side as, iirc, when Belfast had torpedoes, they were the same as Sirius, and in fact, Sirius's probably had better launch angles.

Note that the Dido class was a British response to the Atlanta class, so they're also AA cruiser but with better surface combat capability.
Sirius’ buff stacks with Kazagumo’s (or other Air Raid Assist ships); she’s really really good on Op. Siren bosses because of that.
Honestly I am a fan of Sirius and have Oathed her, she is in my main Royal Navy Fleet alongside Dido and Charybdis (both oathed) now I only need to wait for Queen Elizabeth to get a buff so the Fleet can be truly terrifying (I run Unicorn and either Formiddable or Illustrious depending on the map as the carriers... all oathed)

While flawed (Belfast isn't an AA CL), there's not much else to compare her to beyond her sisters. So yeah Fp/torp will be tilted; it's only certain newer cases being exempt from this penality.
Also, are you taking post-buff results in that Sandy and Reno comparison? (That being said, Reno'd beat base Sandy at many other things)
Something to keep in mind that Sirius can use DD guns (a AA CL trait), meaning she'll generally have better DPS (barring Belfast having her unique module with skill buff enhance, that might change things) and her barrage is 100/100/100 attack mod (basically ignores armor)
Though these days, things favor bigger ships on average.
Not Post Buff which is why "technically" is used.
I forgot to put this point: Belfast may not be an AA CL, but it's still important to show that difference in stat-line and build from what I've mentioned in Belfast...this should show newer players that difference exists.

Sirius Overall stats is quite Expected for a Light Cruiser of Her Type, but Her Firepower and AA is due to the Fact She and Her Sisters are Anti Aircraft Cruisers, their the Fleet Air Defense Ships of the Royal Navy, like How Sandy and her Sisters are... There's an Item in Game with is Essentially their Main Guns as AA Guns, ment to be placed in the AA Slot, which is Good for them (Imo atleast)... They're Essentially Atlanta-Class Girls in Meido Uniforms... Great... Now the Image of Sandy and Her Sisters are Maids are Engraved in my mind Now.... We need Meido Uniform Skins for Sandy and Her Sisters, ASAP! Bet thats gonna Stir Up the Hive in a Way... And Wallets will be Emptied once more...
Anyhow... Sirius is a Good Girl, and will do anything in Her Power for the Betterment of Shikikan, her Fellow Royals, Her Sisters, and Friends.

Sirius got me through world 12 and 13. Kaga, Akagi and Ryuuhou as the backline Sirius and London in the vanguard along with an Eagle Union Heavy Cruiser. The high AA definitly helps in worlds with lots of planes.

What you don't seems to understand is every ship is made for particular fleet template.
Sirius is made for absolute air control and anti CV warfare : Good AA, Hard buff to CV and nice self buff for CV backline.
Works well with Illus to obliterate any plane incoming and getting more survivability
Works better with heavy hitters with some defensive capabilities so iron blood are must have such as blucher or roon to back her shitty firepower.
As for equipment, anything AA related is good enough... I prefer giving her shitty guns with AA perks such as some DD guns ( sakura twin 100 or royal 120 are perfect for her ). She won't do much damage but she's not worth trying to make her do some in the first place. As said, she's not the hitter, she's the AA.
I do though, I even say that she works best in carrier dominated fleets where her skills will be best utilized. Now she can work in multiple fleets....As you suggest, CV counter fleets can also work (if they aren't one and the same). Newer players might not have the luxury of having all the ships to work for a template, so finding one to fit the bill might be what they are looking for too.
@@Hawk2zer0 Sirius isn't easy to get. There is one in a thousand chance a new player draw her. Illustrious can be buyed easily on the medal shop and blucher was for free points and map drop in the last event so pretty much anyone could get her too.
Yat Sen from dragon empery can equip 2x 150 mm guns as main gun.

Houshou, a carrier for the Sakura Empire, can equip a gun. She's absolutely horrible with it though. There's also Zeppy and Bearn that can do this, but are actually not bad with them.

It is nice to see a maid ship be reviewed. As a maid lover, I have used her plenty of times, but not as much as others. Someday, my wish of having a maid ship be in the main fleet might happen....

Yup. Most will cite Roon and Taihou as the scary mentally ill of the bunch, but I'm more scared of the Dido class to be honest. Hermione seems pretty normal though.

Haven't watched your video in about half a year but recently I realized your format of reviewing ships are terrible. You compare ships based on their class and not their functionality. In the first place Sirius is an AA focus carrier buffer and Belfast is more FP and burn damage. The buff she gets on her skill based on her terrible surface damage stats just isn't strong or even worth considering yet you focus on that aspect. You also mention carrier buffers better that Sirius but don't name drop them (Curlew retro, Kazagumo) or provide reasons why they might be better. Perhaps you can also suggest the type of fleet she is best suited for rather than a size fits all format which wouldn't really help anybody, especially those that are just starting out. Cheers!

My format for comparisons fall under two categories:
1) Character's I've reviewed against. I'm building off of knowledge of previous videos for those that may binge them.
2) Comparing against a reviewed character tells nothing or very little (e.g. Roon vs Prinz Eugen - being better than Prinz Eugen damage-wise is a broad spectrum and yields no value...It's why Prinz Heinrich was the target there of which I gave a brief intro on her).
In this case, Belfast not only satisfies the first even being a well-known shipgirl, but for the newer player...this shows that it's important to see how ships can vary in stats and give them roles. I've mentioned many a times that this series' main audience is newer players not veteran players (because they should know all of this by now). I could have compared against Swiftsure or the other dido class..but a newer player would just see nearly (or somewhat) two identical stat-lines that don't show this point that shipgirls within the same ship classification can and do work different roles.
Comparing against Belfast further shows that role difference...of which I even explicitly say is more AA focused on top of showing the differences in their stats. There's reasons I do everything in the scripts and in the editing. I have a main compare target (Belfast), but I also include saying (above average, average, or below average) in comparison to the whole SR CL category as a whole. This is done to give people an idea how they perform against all others with that stat alone. Even mentioning how competing with the Eagles is a thing that gives implications towards strengths of a faction rather than a unit by unit basis.

A 41% increase in base FP in not something to scoff at. Sure it may not be awe-inspiring, but it's still worth noting that this helps her catch up a little bit. It's why I mention that it makes up in that regard. Is it the best? No. I didn't say that. I'm not going to compare everything to the cream of the crop because 90% of the game's roster will be in the "garbage - don't use" tier...at which point why make the video? I should just focus on the cream of the crop then. A overwhelming majority of this game can be played with using just about any ship under the sun here. Her damage isn't amazing? Yeah sure, but compared to what...the cream of the crop cruisers? This skill makes her go from horrible surface damage to "serviceable" as many tier list people would probably say. And for most of the game, that's good enough.

Fair point. I usually do. That did escape my mind this time around. I forgot that one, so I'll show make sure to remember that.

That can be difficult to do. I don't know what people's rosters look like. I've thought more on a video for fleet building covering things like (mob vs boss fleets, vanguard positions, team synergy, etc). I'm more the fan of showing the underlying concepts for things rather than just giving the answers. It's a teaching style I adopted for a couple years when I, to a degree, taught and tutored people.
