The more manifestations of a shipgirl the stronger the concept becomes.
So the strongest concept of all was The Bulin all along.
Loved that some of the scenes after D3 was just Pamiat Meta getting "corrected" by our branch.
She wasn't ready for the real stuff
Yea our branch is definitely different for sure, and between things like the Commander, Type II riggings, and recruiting Meats, the factions are becoming far more powerful then in any other branch seen.
@@Direwolf1618The factions being stronger than those in other branches is very debatable, as Guam's event suggests that the playable branch is actually lagging behind in multiple, multiple areas.
@@Practitioner_of_Diogenes I think you are looking it in the wrong direction, in guam event you interact with a fleet possible after the 2011+ years, or more (have to see operation siren files for precise date), while in our branch if we give a date, we will be around the time after WW2, maybe cold war at best, maybe not yet since we still have the northern parliament.
So this branch is actually really ahead on time when you look at the dates, we have alot of things that other branches at this time never had.
@@Zergling. Missiles aren't supposedly a thing in the playable timeline, as Ulrich wasn't familiar with the word in her own event.
Meanwhile, Gneisenau META's timeline does; the line from the Dragon Empery girls about them being there at SKK's command isn't in CN or JP, and thus it's believed those two are from the same timeline as Gneisenau META. So, no, this timeline is still lagging behind massively.
I read “Peregrination” as “pregnation”, my brain rot is getting out of hand 😭
I feel this pain
Fool of a Took!
youre not the only one, there was a whole thread on reddit about that. Guess we all just want super soldier babies, completely natural i say
It's interesting that the global announcement for Rodney META referred to herself as a concept.
Not gonna lie, this event was next level. Honestly, the events just get better and better, it's Amazing, even the mini event was way above what I expected. I gotta say, I can't wait for more, and know what we know from this event, knowing that Observer is disconnected and got a rough estimate of where her main frame is, I do have plenty of guesses of what it is to come.
Just a bunch of crazy theories here but, I think Observer will end up leading us to a second Operation Siren, this time in the South Atlantic, and instead of defeating her, we might end up saving her and learning why she is helping us from the shadows, maybe saving her from Bon Homme herself in a first meeting Commander vs Bon Homme or saving her from whatever is attacking her, maybe the Arbiter Lovers, we still don't know for sure.
My other guess is that in the JP anniversary event we might finally get Yamato this year, I think it's the case because we got Shinano, Shimakaze, Musashi, Unzeen, so I don't think Yamato is impossible now, but, knowing that Akagi is trying to do something, my guess is that in the JP anniversary we could see how Amagi is saved, but Akagi might so something not exactly ideal for that, that's why I think Yamato will try to stop her or at least do something to investigate.
My last wild guess for today is that the Commander might find a way to use this concept idea to try to save Lexington since we know that Type II was not enough to save her and a few others. We know that Hood is now stable because Repulse and Renown Meta could help her out but they do say the corrosion from Meta might grown again due to the damage she got from Bismark with the black cube, so my guess is that we will have some focus on how to actually control the metamorphosis and I think that could be the way to help Lexington, although we still don't know how she is like other than being stable, so we don't know if Meta is what is holding her back, while with Hood we know it is.
So linking my 3 crazy theories, I think Akagi will do some crazy stuff, Observer will meet the Commander personally in a way or another, ask for help in exchange for info on how to help the girls that are suffering like Lex, Yamato will try to stop Akagi and that might bring a way for Bon Homme or the Arbiters to Actually start being a threat bigger than the Sirens we know, we will learn more about the fight the Sirens are doing and maybe lead the way to Actually have a true alliance with some Sirens in a nearish future. Also, we could see Enty Meta, she's being 'very quiet' lately. My bet is that Enty Meta could eventually be the first UR Meta, and if we ever get a UR Meta, it will certainly be in a Big event, but UR Metas are a thing I think we might only see after we got a few more UR girls.
As my crazy wild guess for this year URs, Ark Royal 2 or QE 2 in CN anniversary, Yamato in JP anniversary, another Iowa by the end of the year. If the CN anniversary don't have a UR, my guess is a Dragon Empire big event and then a UR in EN anniversary, being the second Iowa or a Midway class with the end of the year event being a KMS UR.
Love doing those crazy theories, hahahaha, I guess I just love too much this game, hahahaha. Loved the video buddy, can't wait for more.
Or maybe we might got Amagi II/Kai instead.
Just want to make a suggestion, when you are writing to to make paragraphs, before i did write like that but after someone said to me that is hard to read so much text, now i have a habit of after 3 lines of text i press enter and make a space in between, using your text will be something like this:
"Just a bunch of crazy theories here but, I think Observer will end up leading us to a second Operation Siren, this time in the South Atlantic, and instead of defeating her, we might end up saving her and learning why she is helping us from the shadows, maybe saving her from Bon Homme herself in a first meeting Commander vs Bon Homme or saving her from whatever is attacking her, maybe the Arbiter Lovers, we still don't know for sure.

Hope it helps.
Very much appreciate this kind of video Birdman! Always nice to have a video of someone explaining the lore. Helps me keep more interest in any game.
It should also be noted that Hierophant is able to weaponize the power of faith and concepts via her wand as well.
Other than that I really enjoyed watching this video, keep up the work Hawk! Maybe during the next major event I'll have time to watch your stream ;D
Always nice to see more lore vids from you. And I'd be pretty down for you doing more of these.
Also I always interpreted Souryuu meta having a Hiryuu pawn around as the Sakura/Akagi using the pawn to manipulate her and keep her under control.
Since she was described as a mindless berserker too deep into metastasis to have coherent thoughts other then combat. Using her instinct/love for Hiryuu to keep her in check.
I really enjoy the divergence of ideologies among META sub-factions. It's just nice to see how they respond to disasters in their own ways and form their own group around said ways.
Oh boy! More lore!!
In regards to concepts, funny that since we were talking quite a bit in the BA stream about Touhou, the way you describe concept here is pretty much the same way youkai are born in Touhouverse. Just that their concept is revolving around various kind of fears instead (fear of dark, unknown, bugs, getting lost, etc) and their anchor is actually the humans in the Human Village. That's why there's a deal where the people there are put under the stronger youkai's direct protection and no harm are to come for them as long as they are inside. If they lose the people there's no one to fear them and the youkai would just die out. Same goes with the native gods like Kanako.
I know this has nothing to do with AL but I just find it fascinating that they're ultimately using the same concept (heh..) for the story.
Same goes with servants in Fate.
@@acertainmysteriousvirtuoso6150 The only contact I ever had with Fate franchise is Fate:Extra on the PSP, so I have zero idea of that similarities.
@@datlynn781basically servants are just emanations of the being they represent. Said beings have ascended into a higher plane of existence called the throne of heroes. What masters summon aren't the actual person but just a copy of said person.
new UR event LightOfTheMartyrium is out now and woah, it seems like a whole 'lore goldmine' for me with a bunch of interesting stuffs. Really looking forward to your next vid!
Very much so enjoyed the event but there are 5 cutscenes which I never got to see which I really do want to see given that Code G was doing her own thing again and more of the Ashes as well as Miss D. Helena META and Rodney META to the rescue once more as well as relations between our Kan-sen and those of the METAs, especially Code G/Enterprise, becoming more positive with even active cooperation it will be interesting to see what the commander ends up being thrown into in the future
No idea how I missed this for so long... Anyways... Great video.
I do think its noteworthy that Pamiat Meta came from a timeline the Russian revolution doesn't happen and its still very much Imperial Russia. I also found this event interesting because of the whole Saratoga situation and the similarities (and differences) with her and Akagi... Plus the fact that its now clear that pretty much all the factions are gathering their own sets of Meta shipgirls whose loyalty is their new homes and comrades.
I don't think they're necessarily gathering them...but a good number of the factions have something to bring to the table.
I've just noticed after watching this video hawk is that, the kansen is almost near identical on how servants work in Fate.
Quite a lot of interesting stuff. Though, I still don't fully understand how/why Observer chose to disconnect herself from her mainframe, or why she decided to do it when she did (it's implied she did this a while ago).
It's obvious, isn't it? She discovered the Commander's browser history. It took desperate action to purge it
I really love these lore videos, great for a recap plus catching stuff I didn't notice or realize the first go-round. It kinda reinvests me in the lore! And honestly the events recently have been absolutely fantastic. Thanks Hawk!
Amazing video with some thoughts-provoking theories as always Hawk.
I have a problem though. Whilst I love reading every and absolutely any event story in Azur Lane, at this point I'm treating it like I am watching a Zack Snyder movie.
Everything is all about the world-bulding and lore dumps, not about what stakes or importance of events taking place right here and now but more focused on the outcome of them to set up for that ending in god knows when. Maybe, just maybe we'll come back to this plot line in another 2 years.
So. Shipgirls are basically the same things as antiochus/computers. One server - multiple bodies / / one concept - multiple kan-sens. Wisdom cube could easily be just a computer displaying/accepting information from the big server called concept. If a computer/wisdom cube gets all the information from server, it becomes server(exact copy). tldr. becomes whole.
Imagine how bitter Kent meta would be if we go by Hawk's theory
Memories of every Kent ever retired...
I swear i read the event title as snow realm impregnation
Dear Hawk, I'm delighted to see your new video. It's incredibly interesting!
However, regarding the conceptual aspects, I'd like to share with you some insights from a renowned expert I know. It might be long and I hope I can tell more clearness.
By the way, since as player from CN, I'm mainly referencing CN texts, which may lead to some textual discrepancies (you know what I mean).
😃
First, let me introduce some basic semiotic settings that will aid in understanding the following.
A "sign" consists of a "signifier" and a "signified".
The signifier is the "material layer" of a sign, referring to the object that can be designated within the sign.
The signified is the "definitional layer" of a sign.
The connection between the signifier and the signified is arbitrary; as long as their combination adheres to social conventions or customs and is widely accepted by society, the connection can be established.
Using the plot as an example, the external image of a KAN-SEN is the signifier, while its name or its more essential content is the signified.
Even if a KAN-SEN changes its Rigging, undergoes meta transformation, or exists in a parallel world, its essence remains unified. This corresponds precisely to the commander's identity verification in the previous plot,--" Causality Transposition." Despite only 1% similarity, regardless of where you are, in what form you exist, or how many fragments remain, the commander remains the same "signified" as long as the frequency band is the same.
For the Wisdom Cube system that constructs the entire setting and worldview of Azur Lane, the content preserved in the Wisdom Cube Network is these concepts the corresponding signified. This aligns with the emphasis on high-dimensional unity by that renowned expert.
Or, in simpler terms, the most essential and important content of a concept is the signified, while names, titles, code names, and specific images are insignificant as signifiers.
But there's a crucial point here: how names and images can be independent from each other "for a period of time." The core difference lies in the consolidation of concepts. It's not so much a matter of time as a limited scope.
For a concept with a specific physical image, within a limited scope, before consolidation, a name is just a name, a signifier. At this stage, a name is more like a code name. After consolidation, the name itself can refer to a specific image. Without involving conflicts, the name becomes the signified. Different situations arise for different specific objects.
For instance, in the " Swirling Cherry Blossoms" event, the name "Takao" refers to the ship itself as a signifier, and the ship itself is the signified. However, when it doesn't involve the person who named it, the name "Takao" and the ship are highly intertwined. Whether it's the regular Takao or the Takao meta, they are both signifiers of the concept of the "Takao-class ship," and the "Takao-class ship" becomes the signified.
The "period" that determines whether names and images can be independent from each other is essentially related to concepts like "spread" and "public perception." As mentioned earlier, as long as the connection is widely accepted by society, it can be established.
It seems to me,that the Sirens are trying to get our shipgirls to Awaken in order to properly fight X. As for the Metas, they seem focused on trying to turn our shipgirls into Metas as well,in order to fight the Sirens and/or X as well.
The Sirens look like that's what they're very much trying to do...the METAs...I'd say it is more or less the same. The Ashes for example used to work with the Sirens until they started disliking how the sirens went about doing their stuff.
Here’s a question: do you think the reason why the Sirens/Antoich (sp?) is trying to merge Kansen with their concepts is because once they do, they can draw on the experience/power of all of their manifestations? Could this be the way to defeat X that the Sirens were tasked with finding?
That's possible. Think of what Shinano did to Tester when she got back from her dreams. Nothing Tester planned worked...and was completely shut down by her. That knowledge alone is powerful...but if this leads to increase in power...that would be scary.
Hawk would you be willing to make a sort of "This is what happened since" video to the original "Azur Lane's lore" video?
If concepts apply to ship girls and by exstention there cube doesn't that mean that ships with flaws in there hull data could have a problem with there concepts i.e. it's all in there head
2:45 some say she's our 100kg calculator has grown up
also Rodney META is concept so some of them are concept then.
(dem you yongshi, i asked for retrofit Rodney not META)
Our Heaviest Calculator after one too many Gomen from Noa and just acknowledged she had no chance, graduated, moved out of Kivotos, then formed a drinking problem.
@@datlynn781 what getting gomen'd too many times does to a calculator 😭
that is a interresing view point that i did not consider
Soyuz is the 1st shipgirl that got a retrofit before she even got released...
Whats the flooring in the top left of ur dorm at the beginning of the vid?
I can't get the full name but it's Lounge something...some kind of tile set.
@@Hawk2zer0 thanks :3
This event was good lore NP wise, but what's next for observer? We now know and she now knows that she can "die". Will she be more cautious and paranoid or with she look for outside help?🤔
THE LOOOOOOORE!!!! WOOOOOOOH!!!
No BHR, boo...
The prelude mentions Orichi, another anime link.
And it left me wanting to know more about Observer Zero, but this event just glossed over it entirely.
Not from the event but did 253 pulls and one ur that wasn't pity. And it is 1.2% chance of getting her.
And got the .5% 3 times!!!
Other events got the characters to limit break. This one was bad. Bit great video
#1 pamiat merkuria keep meta taking L, except for DD
oh wait ark royal meta
Love the lore vids 👌
My question is what are ship girls. And do they have biology at all.
The artbook gave some information on this, but there isn't much:
A KAN-SEN's body composition differs from that of humans (they don't go much into it), they still live in the same manner as people, and some things can only be eaten by KAN-SEN. Outside of combat, their physical capabilities isn't much different from humans but, during combat a KAN-SEN that has mastered their equipment becomes an incredibly strong source of fighting power.
