  • Welcome to the Invokation Akademy Duelist Theater, where I'll showcase a Genius Invokation deck gameplay, along with a quick guide on how to effectively play it!
    I particpated in the Cat's Tail Gathering Season 2 preliminaries, and I'm proud to say got to 12th place, securing a place in the Top 16 and earning a spot in the Knockouts! One of the ways I got there was accurately predicting there would be a lot of FiNaLy (Fischl Nahida Lyney) players, and trying to find a deck that not only has a great matchup into that deck, while also being decent against other common decks like MEW or Yelan OTK.
    With an undefeated 6-0 record against FiNaLy, and the preliminaries now over, I'm ready to spill the secret! Though big shoutout to KevinZ, Juslin, and Glasse who were the original brains behind the deck - I just was lucky enough to borrow it for the tournament!
    The deck trades offensive characters like Fischl and Nahida, for equally strong defensive characters in Seahorse and Yaoyao. The deck also gets to benefit from Seahorse's two passive abilities - reducing summon damage by 1 a turn and drawing a card. Both of these let you slowly outvalue FiNaLy, while also matching them for damage too! If you've been struggling against that deck, I would highly recommend giving this a try!
    If you're a newer player, I'd recommend you check out my TCG-101 series which is aimed at beginners. You can find the series at • TCG-101

    I didn’t really think about this earlier bout as soon as magic made rainbow meta I should have known dendro/pyro/electro was gonna be extremely strong, even before magic you could slap almost any unit combo of these elements and the deck would work pretty well

    • @blepthecat
      @blepthecat  Před 3 měsíci

      Yeah you have really strong reactions combined with Nahida's raw damage output. Definitely very strong. Same idea with the Liyue friends deck, which already existed but just got way better with magic

      @JustAPal Před 3 měsíci +4

      @@blepthecat I don't think it's right to censor an opponent's name. Put yourself in your opponent's shoes. Imagine. You play the best TCG of your life. A game so good in one way or another that your opponent decides to share it with the rest of the world. And then your name in the battle gets censored. I'd be a bit irked, ngl.

      @@JustAPal I've just done it by default since I started to be polite. There's reasons either way but not everyone may like having their mistakes shown since I tend to feature the winning games from my side. I'll think about it though

    • @JustAPal
      @JustAPal Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@blepthecat Well you're playing with meta, so the mistakes are generally related to not knowing what you're opponent has. That's just normal gameplay. You're not relying on your opponent making mistakes to make your videos, but instead of clever and powerful tactics. And I'm pretty sure you wouldn't make a video on an opponent who obviously doesn't know how to play the game very well.

    • @blepthecat
      @blepthecat  Před 3 měsíci +5

      @@JustAPal its true, but some players can get anxious about having any misplays shown and I do want to respect that when adding the name doesn't really add anything to the purpose of the video. I appreciate the feedback to help improve the videos, I'll keep this in mind if I hear more players voicing the same idea!

    4:41 wasn't it better to equip veteran first (for 0 dice), so that gilded costs 1 with yayoi, you ended up saving 1 die, not 2, correct me if I'm wrong

    Nicee video, would be great one for a counter deck for yelan and thunder manifastation since that deck it’s soo op

    • @blepthecat
      @blepthecat  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Haha well... the counter for that deck is more or less aggro decks like Finaly... which are then countered by this.
      If you've watched the TCG101 on Archetypes, that's kind of how matchups are, the counters go in a circle.
      This deck can fight Yelan OTK though - you want to try to dig for Tandoori round 1 and open on Lyney to overload and threaten Yelan

    GREAT PLAY!, the btw, ive seen a lot of videos showcasing how Ailhatam is secretly op with his low-cost burst and NA, do you have a good deck on him that can be competitive for pvp? i don't like pairing Ailhatam with Beidou because it takes too long

    • @blepthecat
      @blepthecat  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Anyone that applies Electro on the first hit would be fine - so Dori or Fischl could both work. Then the idea is R1 you just Skill on your electro, skill on Alhaitham, then just NA/Burst on R2, and then end on a different 3rd character - probably Electro like Cyno

    3:58 is gilded+paimon ramp an option? (your play puts more pressure on the opponent round 2)

    • @blepthecat
      @blepthecat  Před 3 měsíci +2

      Watching again I think this might have been the better play overall since I never ended up playing Paimon which is losing out on 1 dice of value.
      Against Finaly though I like skilling early because you can only trigger the +1 shield on Seahorse once a round, so if you skip R1 you're also missing out on 1 health.

    i'd like to know why not baizhu rather than yaoyao?

    • @blepthecat
      @blepthecat  Před 2 měsíci +2

      Yaoyao provides more overall value 2 heal, where Baizhu is only is 1 heal. Also, you don't always want to skill on Seahorse R1 which means you might waste Baizhus second dendro application.
      Yaoyaos burst also can all work in one round which can be important

    I went 9-2 against Finaly on Keqing overload deck, however, with 23-12 score overall, I wasn't able to make it to top 16 unfortunately, EU was a bloodbath with the amount of invaders this season 🥲

    • @blepthecat
      @blepthecat  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Nice, a classic deck! That's a lot of Finaly matches though haha damn, almost double mine. That's a really good score though - honestly the difference between going 23-12 or 25-10 and making top 16 can come down to some amount of luck in matchups.
      I didn't match against that many leaderboard players while I was playing so it probably helped boost my win rate a bit.
