They didn’t remember Logan because he went back in time and changed the timeline. So Instead of meeting them when they were adults… they meet when they were still teenagers
And also he doesn't remember because at the end the original consciousness wakes up in 2023 in the revised timeline. So during the time between 1973 and 2023 he is the one who's not gone through everything.
You have to also remember this is an alternate 80's timeline. The events we saw after the 80's in other films have been changed. When Logan came back from the 70's in "Days of Future Past" Jean, Scott, and Hank were alive again. So, Jean apparently did not go evil Phoenix in later years, kill Scott, and die herself.
But Dark Phoenix movie messes up the end of Days of Future Past. One character would not have been there, unless another movie is made to explain how that character would be. Using these words to not spoil if someone hasn't seen it.
Quicksilver's powers don't work without his legs. He has to begin to run for things to slow down. He's not like flash. Guys, I know time doesn't actually slow down. I'm just putting it in terms that they use. I'm not about to sit here and explain like a crazy person to them how fast running works. 🤓

That wasn't just Stan Lee, but the woman was his actual wife.
The reason why there are different actors for several X-Men movies is because of the time the movie takes place. Some of the movie take place in the past (earlier than the original X-Men movies), so therefore different actors portray the younger versions of the mutants. This is also why they do cameos of Wolverine in the movies that take place in the past - it shows how Wolverine doesn't age and is always played by Hugh Jackman. ;)

Fun fact about Phoenix vs Apocolypse...
As the Phoenix was the light and life of the universe, the Dark Phoenix represented power and destruction. The Phoenix became Dark Phoenix due to allowing human emotions to cloud its judgment. In this state, Phoenix was the strongest, but also an evil entity that thirsted for power and destruction. Either form could easily beat Apocolypse.
Dark Phoenix is the amplified version of regular Phoniex. In this amplified state, Dark Phoenix is the strongest mutant in the universe. With the ability to create and destroy things. Though since Dark Phoenix is bad, you do not want Dark Phoenix in control.
Phoenix is not a mutant at all. It is a cosmic entity that usually uses a host and jean has become the most popular host which is why people confuse it constantly.

11:40 Days of Future Past completely re-wrote the whole timeline. So they completely changed a lot of things.

To remember the timeline for the films:
- First Class was the 60s
- Days Of Future Past was the 70s
- Apocalypse was the 80s
- Dark Phoenix was the 90s
- Original Trilogy are the 2000s
In Days of Future Past, Logan told Xavier what William Stryker was going to do to him in the future and tells Xavier to find the X-Men. But in this movie, Xavier somehow forgets about all of this and just lets Stryker capture Logan...
Stryker capturing Logan is a destination paradox, and a fixed point, both. Also, Logan did not include himself in the list of names for Xavier to find.
He knew he would have to go through all of that in the Weapon X program before he would end up with Xavier. Considering that Deadpool also came from that later, and we saw it in his first film, it is essential he go through that, because Wolverine is important to the development of other characters and their histories.
@@shauntempley9757 The destination paradox shouldn't magically make Charles forget what Logan told him about Stryker. Also, Logan literally said to Charles: "Find US. Lead US." So he was indeed including himself.
Xavier had no intention of forming the X-Men. He said so himself in the movie. So he wasn't going to find Logan. He thought that humans and mutants were completely at peace and was unaware of Weapon X's existence. It is a plot hole.
Also Hank said you can try to change the current of the river but it always corrects itself. Meaning you can change the past but somehow someway things will still happen even if you change it

Fun Fact: He didn't amplify Magneto because he was already an Omega-level mutant. This was also interesting because so is storm, but I guess in this universe he upped her to Omega level.

well storm isn't always an omega level mutant., they change her to omega level sometime before due to her supporters and fans.. but when they first created the character, she wasn't an omega level

I think Justin was confusing Psylocke in this film with Blink from Days of Future Past (the one who throws teleportation portals during the fights with the Sentinels)
If they'd kept Blink's purple skin and magenta hair (only highlights in the film) from the comics, it probably would've been more obvious.

Days of future Past changed everything; all the mutants you remember from the original movies have changed because their timeline has changed.
I think Erik's change makes perfect sense, you see it as a loss of a few people versus the world, which... isn't the bad way to see it, but you have to recognize, this is days out of loosing the most important people in the world to him, he is not the first one to loose sign of everything when that happens. And remember what Apocalypse is selling, it's exactly what Magneto has always wanted, Mutant supremacy because if it hadnt been for humans and their overreactive fear, his family would be alive. Finally, you're expecting reason from a man who has always had to be on the recieving end of a lack of reason. He's seen his parents taken from him because of Mens hatred, killed for mens benefit, himself literally been made into a tool of the Nazi's, his extermination being ordered by the leaders of two world powers after trying to help them, super robots sent to wipe out his species. And you want him to show reason and balance? No, no human would be like Charles in the face of all that.
This movie is in a different timeline from the previous X-men movies. They changed time. This was made evident in the scene from school where the teacher was teaching how a young mutant saved the president. Where in the old timeline, it was much later (the people were older) and information about the mutants was not a public thing and those who did know felt they had to eradicate them. So in this timeline being a mutant is less stigmatized. Therefore Archangel's father would be less stigmatized. Therefore Archangel would possibly not feel the same way about being a mutant. Hope that makes sense.

During a Q&A session while promoting the Marvel series Moon Knight, Oscar Isaac was asked what was the one film or TV show he regrets making, and it was X MEN Apocalypse. He says that they "turned the character into a 2 dimensional James Bond villain who wanted nothing more than to wipe out humanity and repopulate the Earth with his mutant brethren."
He even said that he didn't like the costume or the make up as he felt claustrophobic.

I can understand Peter’s hesitation when he tries to tell Erik he’s family. As an adopted child, I know first hand meeting my biological family and them not knowing who you are. A lot of things run through your head like ‘what if they don’t accept me?’ Or ‘what do they think happened to me’ or ‘why did they give me up in the first place’. Shit like that is very stressful, so I can understand why Peter got choked up.
Days of Future Past was supposed to have changed the course of history. So apparently some people were born earlier or later and met each other at different times etc. Its comic books, they are like that.

If you go by feats alone, even live action Flash is still faster. He spent what seemed like a few hours from his perspective, but in reality was a split second when a nuke went off.

Despite the flaws I still really like this movie
Some villains know only pain. Pain that left them scarred for life. Magneto, Thanos, Joker, Killmonger, Atrocitus, all children of tragedy and birthed to changed things for revenge.
The lack of continuity of the Foxverse of X-Men is definitely the series weakness. This should’ve been a multi movie series kinda like Thanos. Apocalypse should’ve been as difficult to bring down as Thanos. This movie still has killer parts!

What people don't understand about apocalypse is that he wants to get rid of regular humans to pave the way for the next evolution in mankind which are mutants the same way that homosapians killed off the cromags. I'm not sayings his way is wrong but that's the way of nature.

I believe the end credit scene mentioning Essex Corps. was intended to be alluding to the character/mutant Nathaniel Essex ( aka Mister Sinister) who in the animated series was a common rival of the X-men and one Apocalypse's biggest supporters. Mister Sinister was known for working heavily in the areas of genetic engineering or eugenics for the most part when it came to the topic of genetic mutations.
I think New Mutants was supposed to elaborated more into getting a Mister Sinister movie before Disney bought Fox and the FoX-Men series is officially over

In the X-Men days of the future past Logan traveled through time and changed past so this is a different time when Raven didn't kill Trask and the robots weren't made that's why this movie is different than the ones you saw....

I was at opening night at my town theater for this movie with all of my friends and we know the comic lore so seeing Essex Corp was one of those small things that I forgot about it but when I turned to ask one of my friends and ask "Who runs Essex Corp?" My friend replied "Mr. Sinister..." It was one of those "Oh sh!t" moments I will never forget

When apocalypse said " all is Revealed" while staring at the Phoenix Force. He Knew he wasn't The one who's gonna Consume the Whole Planet. And jean's Nightmare was not caused by apocalypse, but the Phoenix force. She was Gonna cause the Ends of Times
The reason Jean and Scott were alive last film is because once they sent Logan to the past they created a new timeline. The one we knew was blinked out of existence. That's also why Logan didn't know anything about his new timeline, his consciousness was the Logan of the nonexistent one; which, as we seen, becomes the main conscience.
So these films no longer lead to the original trilogy, and why some mutants appear different from the ones portrayed in those. Think of the Ultimate comics universe were things happen sooner than the prime timeline

In the flash series season 4 ep 15 the flash made quicksilver look like a sloth compared to the quicksilver scene in this movie

Quicksilver can’t stop time. When he chooses to be fast time slows obviously way down. But mystique said wait and he looked back so it stopped him.
wolverine has a insane healing factor which makes him almost impossible to kill by normal methods

The Flash has a much higher threshold for speed than Quicksilver, but Quicksilver has a dramatically higher level of control and stability overall- if you wanted to compare them directly.
47:16 You can't outrun something if you don't know it's coming. If I snuck up on Quicksilver and very quietly hit him in the back of the head, I could probably knock him out. The Flash has been knocked out that way in the TV series.

Well remember at this time, X-Men movies weren't exactly an accurate timeline. MCU sort of made sure things stayed in order the best they could. Since we are getting a rebooted Xmen series, I'm sure these old movies will just be labeled as taking place in an alternate universe. That said, the X-men movies had a soft reboot and thus the movies with the younger X-Men really seem to throw things off.
It's kind of a mess. I still love the series mind you. But anyone who defends it as perfect missed all the errors with it from at least a time line sense.
Quicksilver's power is speed, not time manipulation. Flash's power comes from the Speed Force, anything that moves, gives the Flash more power/speed, so Flash can run fast enough to manipulate time...Quicksilver can't move that fast. Proven when Quicksilver fought the Flash in the mini series Marvel vs DC. They also have a series that combined Marvel/DC heroes and villains to make new characters: BatMan + Wolverine= DarkClaw, Sabertooth + the Joker = the Hyena, etc...
speed = distance ÷ time. distance = speed × time. time = distance ÷ speed. So, yeah, technically you're right, but you are also wrong. Another way to look at it is that the Flash doesn't manipulate Time, he only can move through Time in any way he wants, FTL = backwards in Time, approaching C = forwards in Time.
Quicksilver definitely looks better in the X-Men movies than any other speedster. You might say that Quicksilvers injury weakened him forever. If it wasnt for Apocalypse, Quicksilver mightve been even faster
Well xmen 3 wouldve taken place almost 20 years after this Xmen mobie so it could make sense that this young version of Angel an Nightcrawler are the same ones just younger.
This movie was in the past when storm ,Scott and Gene were still kids I just don't think you guys caught this.
Apocalypse unlocked their full power potential.
Storm can only just manipulate the wind, after apocalypse enhanced her she can now also create electrical currents to control lightning and she can now manipulate the weather(wind, cloud, rain, lightning).
Psylocke can only make psychic swords, after apocalypse enhanced her, psylocke can now make psychic whips and any shape she wants.
Magneto only can manipulate magnetic field around him, after apocalypse enhanced him he can now manipulate the entire earth's magnetic field. He can cause earthquakes and tsunamis when he manipulates the earth's magnetic field.
Angel obviously, his feather wings is replaced with metal sharp wings that has the same strength as adamantium metal.
Yelp. The Angel can't possibly beat The Blob, but!......
