- I found this sweet sampler at my local antique mall and want to turn it into a wall hanging. Instead of binding, I chose to finish the edges with a facing. This is a simple technique. Enjoy!

I didn’t know that technique, it’s great for small projects!!! Your wall hanging is adorable. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much! 😊
I’ve seen several ways to face, but your version is the simplest I’ve seen. Thanks!
Awesome! Thank you!
I agree the fringe has a charm you don't want to lose, your fabrics are perfect.
Sooo cute !!!
Thank you! I love the fringe too.
Simply marvelous. Julia you make everything you do look easy!
Thanks so much 😊
what a sweet little cross stitch piece! I've never seen that saying before but I love it. And the fabric you picked to go with it is just perfect, the final result is really nice. Love those little suffolk puffs with the crochet pieces. And thanks for showing the facing technique, I'd never seen that before either and it does make a really soft nice soft finish.
What a great find at the antique mall - a pretty needlework piece! The completed wall hanging is beautiful and I love how you turned it into a wall hanging! The facing technique is a finishing I've never seen it before but definitely one I'd like to try! Thanks for the tutorial!
I love the facing method on these little wall hangings. I hope you give it a try. Julia
wow !!! I have never seen this technique before. What a find that sampler was. This just turned out fabulous with those little doilies and yo yo - tfs
I love this little sampler too. I sell many of my creations but this one is hanging in my sewing room. Thanks for watching!
I've faced quilts but have always hand stitched the facing down. Sewing that last step with the machine will make it much easier and faster! Thanks.
Some will prefer to hand stitch but on these little quilts the machine sewing works great. And so much faster. Thanks for watching:)
This project is adorable. I love how the fabrics match the sampler colors!! Great inspiration. Hugs ❤
Thank you so much! I'm glad I found these fabrics that have a vintage vibe. It really helped.
That is so clever and you have a place for a dowel to hang it on the wall. William Morris had a tapestry design that said Love is Enough. Thanks
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment! Julia
Hi Julia - I love your finished wall hanging. Those fabrics are perfect with the sampler. I’ve used this method before and it’s so much easier to hang your finished project. I love the way it looks with the pockets for hanging. Have a great week sweet friend. 💕🧵

Thank you sharing this !!! Once a month I get together with 5 friends for a pot-luck lunch and each of us brings a project to make with each other. We each provide the materials to make something .... that should take about 1/2 hour to make. I am going to use this as my project to share......@@swantjegramann5875
I love adding yo-yos to projects. They add a homespun look with a little texture. Have fun with them.
Great project Julia! I love the saying - will it be in your Etsy shop?
Hi, This one I'm keeping. I have it hung in my "very small" sewing shed! Thanks so much for watching, Julia
