- The ALL NEW Rogue is here and Nissan is ready to even make the base a compact SUV standout. Under the hood is a naturally aspirated 2.5L inline-4 producing 181HP that is mated to a CVT and is getting power to the ground through optional AWD. The exterior of the Rogue has been totally redesigned from top to bottom and has all new wheel selections. On the inside you will find some of the biggest surprises ever in a Rogue. Thanks for reviewing a base model of a vehicle. We regular working people can’t afford or do not want to put a lot of money on a higher trim of a car, so having an idea of what we get on a base trim model of a car is very nice. Thanks.
For real I can think of so many better ways to spend money than a $600 car payment, and I could technically do that if I wanted. It’s just a dumb waste of money to me.
Some of us HATE leather and don't want that "upgrade" that takes the back of our legs off in 110 degree California weather!

@WheelsAlwaysTurning I’ve had no issues with my cushion seats. Smell great after 6 months. Leather gets dirty, rip, and wear out after a while.

I think it looks good. Most people will like the base model and it should serve them well. For the price, it’s a nice suv. I’m old enough to remember when cars had vinyl seats, manual stick shifts, manual doors locks, hand crank roll up windows, no standard air conditioning , seat belts for extra money and only an AM radio. This base model Rogue Is a luxury car for most people. It’s job is to go from point A to Point B carrying stuff and people in some level of comfort for a fairly low price. Great review on this base model that most folks would love to own.

Compared to base models like ten years ago this is really well equipped there’s nothing you would need that it doesn’t have tbh, it can connect with your phone and all.

Im a owner of a 2020 392 scat pack in Orlando. Thanks to you , I've become a car guy and appreciate the art of cars.
I like how even for a base, it still has led headlights, actual rims no more hubcaps, big screen infotainment, not a small Bluetooth only setup with a tiny screen for a backup camera like in previous Nissan models for the base trim. I can’t wait to see how other trims differ in value vs tech.
And the base actually has the sportiest wheels with that nice dark gray rims.

Base wheels look better than platinum ones. And they are better for off-road! S trim is where the most value is. Great job giving us a look at the base trim. Nobody else does it. You Rock!

Thanks. Good review. Purchased the Rogue SV and I have been very pleased with new Rogue. The side pocket is more functional than it first appears. The split center condole is so convenient. If Nissan could give us 200 hp, the Rogue would be Rav4 killer.

To people complaining about the CVT - considering the CRV has a CVT and so does most of subaru's line up, theres very little chance of nissan dropping the CVT at this point. Mainstream small SUV's will keep moving to that direction.

I have 2010 CVT so far no problems _if_ you service it on *time* and just bought 2021 Nissan Rogue hoping no issue with the Xtronic CVT.
I haven't had any problems with my transmission. I just traded in my 2013 altima for this same car in the video two days ago. I just get my transmission flushed and filter changed. No problems at all. Some people just don't want to do that because it's pretty expensive. I paid $500 for my altima and it worked just fine with no previous issues

Great video! I see that even in the base model in your video, it is equipped with Nissan’s Propilot assist. However when I look at other base models, I don’t see it equipped. Is pro pilot assist an add on to the Nissan rogue S but not standard?

great review , just purchased one, should i worry about the cvt transmission? or are they inproved
i have never been a fan of the rouge, but in early 2022 i wanted a small crossover/suv. after a few test drives this was ultimatley my choice and the best choice. even though i am not a fan of the cvt i have no complaints with my rouge awd s. the price, looks good roomy and comfortable. nissan did a good job in redesigning the next generation rouge.

Thats a nice SUV I like how it look underneath they tucked the muffler up to give in a clean look underneath good for snow and passing through water.

I recently got the 2021 SV with premium package and it’s not wireless :( I think it’s in the sl trim or even platinum
You only get wireless in platinum trim.

Cooled seats are pricy. There’s an induction motor under each and they’re not cheap. They’re trying to keep this vehicle under a certain price point. You want cooked seats? I have a nice Murano here, how’s your credit?! Blahahaha

I kind of wish they would make the roof rails standard just like they do on the nissan kicks..

Joe, after reviewing the comments below in regard to the Pro Pilot assist and looking closely at your video. You can see that on the right hand side of the steering wheel there is the small "blue" button and below that the button for the following distance. I also see to the far left by ones knee and in the advanced drive assist display while you were toggling through it, it said "steering assist" which is part of PPA. This could not have been an S model as Pro Pilot Assist is only available on the SV model. I'm quite confused as I'm a corporate trainer for Nissan, I've been training on this vehicle for 3 months and I have all the info in print and in the PIG. Thanks

I have a 2015 I'm definitely upgrading this year
I bought mine last night, exact same trim level and color. The one thing I did notice that was different though, is that mine has a nice glossy knob for the drive selector.
Does this trim have the zero gravity seats like the SV does?

I don’t like any CVTs, but I’m now forced to begin accepting them. I like the way this one puts power down way better than that CVT Accord. It’s a very nice car overall. The Nissan Qashqi has been a best seller in Europe for years. There’s a lot of similarity. Thanks for the video.

Seems like a pretty well appointed base model. Better than expected from Nissan
I honestly dare to say people need to stop complaining about cvt, in the future it'll be much cheaper than a full automatic transmission and cheaper. Give it time people, everyone is doing great. I have over 200,000 miles on my outlander sport cvt and never had an issue, yeah it sucks. Yeah it's boring, but as long as it's not on a sports car *SUBARU* then I think it's okay. It's going to be the norm for normal sedan and suvs.
