Two closest moments, as I recall, of ending the streak before it finally ended: Tombstone by HHH and that beautiful chokeslam reversal into an RKO. I thought Randy certainly has it there!

That Wrestlemania Chokeslam reversed into an RKO made me a legit Orton fan.

That RKO reversal out of a chokeslam was the first RKO outta nowhere

Last Wrestlemania that I followed WWE on a daily basis. This was a lot better match than I ever thought it would've been.

They came to my small city of Peterborough, Ontario while they were working this program. Only chance I've had to go to a live event and a memory I'll never forget!

It was reported that Taker approached Randy about ending the streak but Randy said NO because he couldnt carry the weight of being the guy who ended the streak.

The chokeslam reversal to the RKO is still one of my favourite spots of my wwe viewership. Complete surprise when it happened, thought Orton had it there cause of the legend killer gimmick. Fantastic match in my opinion.

When Randy Orton came out and challenged Undertaker for a Wrestlemania match, at first i thought he was absolutely crazy and way over his head to call out a true legend of that stature but once they got together for the contract signing which led to him slapping the deadman, my reaction was woah he's really got a death wish. I thought they had one of the best matches of the night and the chokeslam into the RKO really did come out of nowhere, it was the first real time that i thought the streak was actually going to end. The Undertaker Randy Orton feud was one of the best ones of 2005 and really helped put Randy back on the map as a true main event player.

Orton was coming off his failed babyface run. The feud with Taker gave him back his mojo.

Randy stepped up in 2004 when he beat Benoit.

Thinking back to 2005 Orton made me reflect on how much better they were at building stars then. By 2010 Randy was a credible top guy over as a real star. These days there's guys that make me stop and go "oh he's been here that long already?" because theres no real progress with their build and their gimmick essentially remains "sports entertainer trying to win and just happy to be in the WWE™"

Yeah but what was the original plan for survivor series. Because randy lost a qualifying match to eddie, and eddie pass away and randy take his place. I am always curious what was the original plan? Was taker supposed to return even later..
