This is a big part of why, when I watch "drama videos" I watch as many different creators' perspectives on the situation as possible, to make sure I've gotten as much information to form my own thoughts about it, to make sure it is even something worth forming a thought over.

@@aaronlandry3934 if people have emotional problems and go to Charlie or any other internet youtuber, streamer etc... and gets healed from the entertainment they put out or atleast helps them feel better, I'd say that's the best para-social relationships can get. People who cross the line beyond that should, I agree get a close person to talk to or a therapist and they shouldn't go to strangers for advice, comfort, or agreement .

I was literally talking about this with my buddies earlier. People can't think for themselves so they "educate" themselves with youtuber's opinions. I watch Charlie's vids for entertainment, but it's sad to see so many people forget that they have a mind of their own then change their opinions to Charlie's words. Yeah I was unfortunately like this with Jim Sterling, hanging on every single word they said and even saying "oh Jim Sterling said this" when commenting on video game industry BS. But now that they've devolved into this angry bitter person who seems to actively hate talking about video games and labels their dissenters as transphobes I have to wonder why I wasted so much time engaging in this unhealthy hero worship.

In the pre-internet era, kids who were neglected by their parents, or kids who rejected their parents' guidance, would supplement it with TV personalities. Their TV dads would be who they looked to for guidance. Now in the internet era it's actually worse because there's an illusion of interaction. "Oh my gosh, he read my dono and laughed!" These poor kids will all eventually be hit with a wake-up call that their content-creator mommies and daddies don't know them, don't care for them, and are often not the kind of person who should be looked-up-to.
