We were recently in this neighborhood when we provided FREE Lawn Services to a home where a neighbor was about to call code enforcement on the landlord. We seen this house while we were traveling through the area. In this episode we revisit the property that was overgrown to find that it was still in the same overgrown situation that it was weeks prior.
In this video to our surprise, someone was home during the weekday and willing to let us tackle the property to get it back in curb side condition. The residence (2 Sisters) said, “Yes” to the free lawn work for Halloween while we encountered many of the neighbors lending their thoughts about our work along the way. That's what I said to my son, when we watched this. The least the home owners could have done was give them some lunch. The neighbors were kind enough to offer drinks.
My parents were legally immigrants from Europe and when ever they had someone come over to help they would pay them and make sure they had a good meal and plenty of non alcoholic drinks while they were there

You know one thing is an elderly person, a disabled person, that may not be able to mow the lawn, but the woman that answered the door looked perfectly healthy. I'm 78 and I cut my lawn with the weedwacker. My lawnmower broke and I don't have the money to get it fixed, but my lawn is cut.

Whether the yard is kept up after this is immaterial. When a gift is given, it’s only a true gift if it is given without any “strings attached.” You gave her a real gift. ❤
I have said this all my life, as far as a gift having no strings attached. It's rare. Expectations usually rears its ugly head.

Accepting the Gift Freely Given, honors both those that Gift and those that Accept.
Apparently, the neighbors are not the type to help out. Otherwise, someone would have done so by now.
I live in South Africa and if I have anyone doing anything on my property, I give them something to eat and drink. It’s called “kindness”, even if you are paying for their service. My garden service get their beverages etc every week. For my birthday I bought cake for them too. I always make sure to be kind to others. What an amazing duo you are. Same in UK, I live in a council property, whenever they send anyone to do maintenance etc I always keep them supplied with drinks and biscuits, let them use the toilet. A few years ago our bathroom was refurbished, the following year our kitchen, so there were plumbers, carpenters, electricians etc, they all got looked after.
Im also from South Africa now living in the UK. I brought that habit with me and treat my garden service workers and window cleaners the same here.
I disagree. If I pay a good wage - they are working a job for me. Pay them well and feeding them is not necessary.

I always offer water to anyone. Even garbage men. I fed my roofers lunch when they were working. Shame on some people.

Everyone who does any work on my house or garden gets food and drink always. Even the delivery folks get a drink.
@@lindac6416 it’s not that you have too.. I just do it. Normally they have water but I do offer. The crew that was doing my roof did not speak English at all. But I managed to tell them to come eat! They were all so shocked and happy. The supervisor told me that no one had ever done that for them. Made me feel good.

So glad to see someone give you a drink. Wasn’t even their house. Homeowner didn’t even ask if you wanted any water or anything. And mowing their yard free.
This yard rescue was a boost for the entire neighborhood!
Did anyone pick up on what the next door neighbor did to his side of the fence? That tells me that maybe this is the "normal" way that property looks and he's tired of seeing it? I had to put up a VERY expensive wooden privacy fence because my neighbor on that side's yard always looked like a scrap yard. The neighbor on the other side of them did the same thing. Didn't faze the neighbor one bit! Thankfully, Hurricane Michael took care of the problem for us.

So glad you did this for the neighborhood. I hope the home owner watched you work and will use your model for keeping things clean in the future. A little each day or each week will keep it clean. A tip to the homeowner for the porches.Dawn Dishwashing Liquid will cut the grease in dirt. A broom makes a good scrub, brush water hose to rinse.

Her skin is still flawless and youthful. I thought she would be around 40. She looked dam good even doing this sort of work - i would look like something the cat brought home if it was me at her age.

I am glad you happened upon this property. Just the way she came to the door and covered herself spoke volumes to me. After my husband died I met a man who I did not know for his true self. He berated me for going outside in shorts to work in my garden. Long story short, we never know what goes on behind closed doors. This yard may be over grown to keep people away from the home even. You are making it pretty again. The neighbors and everyone who passes here are so happy about the yard being cleaned up! The after views look wonderful! On a side note....yes when I first found your channel it took a minute for me to figure out you were Mother and Son! I enjoy your content and look forward to your videos! I think the neighbours sick of the feral yard and people have been helping, but sounds like take and no give , obviously nobody does anything there and i hope there is a reason, shame for neighbourhood kids to even say thankyou for mowing. I hope it was appreciated by the woman who lives there and they learn how to use mower now and keep up with it, i just never understand 😢 ive mytiple disabilitiesand mow nine and 3 ederly neighbours.
