This is a new group of people that I can intimately communicate with. Listening to Siko is just like listening to my next door neighbor in Haiti. How beautiful.

No, Creole has a long history in Venezuela, specially in the regions of the Paria gulf and more recent in the Callao, not only settlement of Trinidadians but Venezuelans descendants of slaves that spoke the language.

Wow I’m so surprised and amazed as someone with Haitian heritage. I actually understand what they are saying. Before this I was watching an other videos like this but it was about Trinidad and an other one from Louisiana. .

Martiniquais accent you mean, given that their ancestors came from Martinique 😉. It's much more likely that your father got his accent from his roots in St Lucia, where they also speak _Patwa_ (French Creole) than from Trinidad, whose Creole is English based.
@@Basauri48970 My fathers accent was a blend of his native St Lucian twang and the accent of his adopted home Trinidad. Btw the gentleman in the video said that his father was Trinidadian. Trinidad also has Kreyol speakers because Trinidad was settled by enslaved and the slave owers from neary French ruled islands (Cedula of Population). But the language is only spoken in pockets in a few places now. My grandmother, a Trinidadian also knew Patois. It was her first language. But they were discouraged from teaching it to their children and there was the pressure to learn the "King's/Queen's English.
