Canboulay 2019 - Remembering The Riots Of 1881

Each year on Carnival Friday at 5am, the streets of East Port of Spain come alive with the re-enactment of the Canboulay riots.
It is a significant event in Trinidad and Tobago's history that has been celebrated for decades.
The re-enactment portrays the efforts to resist the push by the colonial British government to suppress Canboulay celebrations on the streets.
