What a great job you made here... i agree bout the winner...great harmony of Milk and Honey...as well as great arrangement of Oshrat as a composer.. i also agree that Ted from Sweden, was a great singer unfortunately he's not with us-RIP...i also think that the Austrian song was good, although doesn't belong to ESC. your footage is just fantastic!, great graphic on the video, nice explaining your vote and stuff..hope to see more videos from you! .

VERY nice work, thank you - got yourself a new sub..👍😁. Although I should be old enough to remember, but Matia Bazar at the ESC? I totally forgot and considering the song I rightfully did. It obviously took a little work and time to finally come up with the epic "Ti Sento"

Micha Marah (Belgian entry) didn't like the song she had to sing at the time. But 44 years after, she released in the summer of 2023 for the first time a single and video clip of "Hey nana". You find it here: czcams.com/video/z1c9hrJBdVg/video.html
For the record, who came the closest to being a two-time ESC winner like Johnny Logan so far; Anne-Marie David, Lena Meyer-Landrut or Aleksander Rybak? Did I forget any others?
I'm glad that someone else likes "Satellit"! Poor Ted didn't perform it the best on the night and was terribly nervous (the Melodifestivalen version is WAY better), but the song is just a belter. It's better than "Hold The Line" which it usually gets compare to.
The Ultimate Truth about 1979: 1. Israel (all time record of modulations: three) 2. Spain 3. Luxembourg (this is very, very underrated, and the singer is by far the best) 4. Portugal 5. Finland 6. Norway 7. Greece 8. Denmark 9. Netherlands 10. Monaco (song is ok but a bad singer) 11. Italy 12. France 13. Switzerland 14. Sweden 15. Austria 16. Germany 17. Belgium 18. Ireland 19. UK
Israels song i such a gem and should have won. Love Tommy Seebach (being 50% Danish). RIP Tommy. Also RIP Ted Gärdestad from Sweden. Anne-Marie David is a good singer (she won 1973), but had a terrible song this year.
Here's my top 10: 10th: United Kingdom 9th: Sweden 8th: Norway 7th: The Netherlands 6th: Portugal 5th: Germany 4th: France 3rd: Israel 2nd: Ireland 1st: Greece
But Schlager-Lucas forgot to rank the very small stage. I've seen it on a journey with a guire from Black Forest in June 1992. I don't see the lyrics of our German entry in the 2nd place. The choreography of the newly organized group was good. The lyrics of the French entry telling the story of a captured Jewish man from occupied France in Southern Vichy-France make me sad. Most dresses and hairdressings were terrible. And it's a shame that official Turkey didn't allow Maria Epik and her group to perform in Israel; this would have been the best Turkish entry for ever.
My top 3: 1. Israel 197 points 2. Germany 96 points 3. Sweden 94 points As a Christian, I want Hallelujah to win by a very clear margin. 101 point winning margin shows that how God thinks of this song.
The year 1979 is certainly the best to date. For me, 14 songs could have won and Luxembourg should have been disqualified. My ranking: 1 Israel 2 Germany 3 France 4 Denmark 5 Finland 6 Spain 7 Italy 8 Greece 9 Norway 10 United Kingdom 11 Portugal 12 Sweden 13 Netherlands 14 Ireland 15 Switzerland 16 Belgium 17 Monaco 18 Austria Luxembourg: disqualified because plagiarized song (absent pour raisons d'amour of Pétula Clark)
You are the only one who thinks Anne Marie David looks intimidating when she sings (I'd argue borderline scary - I think it's that she borderline inhumanly unblinking and starey) or doesn't really like her song(s) that much. I do to the first and I don't to the second - her winning song is one the least liked by me ever. And I love you have Dschengis Khan 2nd - awesome!
My top 1. Greece 2. France 3. Spain 4. Denmark 5. Portugal 6. Belgium 7. Germany 8. Sweden 9. Norway 10. Finland 11. Austria 12. Luxembourg 13. Netherlands 14. Switzerland 15. Israel 16. Italy 17. United Kingdom 18. Monaco 19. Ireland

Thanks for the 5th place
What a great top! Even if we don't agree very much, your comments were great and I love your top 3 very much!
Thanks! :)
As a German, I can say that we had one of the best Eurovision entries ever that year! I don’t know why we didn’t win, I listen to that band every day.
