I know why they have 25,000 to begin with. There was a problem when you realised that Celeste and Christy had the same last names as another pre-existing family, so you put in the Motherload cheat so they could take a portion of the money.

It was nice seeing a roomate family for a change :D I'm very curious to see how the fact that stepping in someone's toes can ruin her career so much she had to change her line of work. And again with the ammount of law related sims in this town I'm very curious to seem them trying to tackle large crime figures like that lady (I forgot her name) living in the high rise building. She will NOT be easy to take down. Very anxious for that :v
I really love how you started build character around Celeste. With her love of ocean and job in politics she does seem like person who would be really passionate about marine conservation.
Feeling upset they didn't meet Lindsay, Lily and Dominic... and also Ray in person, yet 😂 so I'm starting to like how these buildings are a community within themselves. This one I would live in in real life if I could! Lol I loved the diving in the ocean anology of the downstairs living area and it looks so comfy.

I love these two they seem to be interesting characters already. I love how you think about their job titles and not just their career, makes me want to consider job titles more often in my game. The apartment turned out really nice, I love the unique layout and the nautical decorations.

I think it is because of the mod I mentioned: modthesims.info/d/379432/si-down-with-your-drink.html If they can't find a comfy chair to sit in, they will pick the floor instead of a kitchen chair, funnily enough 😂
yayyy so excited to watch this!! i think an aquarium could be on the waterfront of a downtown and fit the oceanography career that way. also omg the door staying open while they're in the bathroom, lately i've been noticing that in my builds so much! or even worse, the door is open and they're standing looking in the mirror/using the sink with the entire door clipping through their body. ugh I gotta do some rearranging lmao. Their apartment turned out super cute, I especially love the kitchen!

This looked like the beginning of such a cute group of friends, with their interest in books and nature and possible movie nights. And their apartment is absolutely adorable and fitting to their characters with the pastel colors and the subtle sea theme. Your explanation of Celeste going into politics to stand for what she believes in is a really nice angle and I can totally see that for her. I'm definitely getting some teacher vibes from Christy. She and Ray might actually be really cute together btw. Although I have no idea if they will agree. 😊 Can't wait to see their next round and what community lot you'll send them to. If not a library or a zoo, maybe some sort of small sealife exhibit lot? Or maybe combined with a swimming pool? 🤔 That might also give some more options for some of the Oceanography careers. I have also combined the more research oriented ones from that career with the science facility and I think that works really well also. I really laughed when you skipped over level 10 of that career. I was curious to hear your thoughts on that, and I completely understand you skipping it. I never know what to think of that one, or how to fit it into anything. It's so specific and quirky.
Also I actually did play with both of these sims a while back, I've made them playable a long time ago, but I completely forgot those were the same sims by the end of this episode. You've created such unique characters again! lovely and relaxing watch as always. ❤
Thank you so much 🥰❤ They are not the kind of sims I expected would show up in Downtown. I had prepared for a lot of party girls, but interestingly enough, a lot of them have turned out more introverted with strong interests in hobbies. I adore it though, and I agree, these three will make a cute friend group.
Oh good point, yeah, Christy could get along well with Ray. I look forward to see them all interract on community lots too, it'll be exciting to see who gets along with whom.

Ah that's cool! I find it so interesting that even though we play with the same sims, they become so different from game to game. It's also very interesting seeing the sims' unique personalities shine though in some ways - watching your videos with the PV townies really hammers home how although they are different, they still have very strong personalities that carries through no matter who plays with them it seems.
I’m so happy you shared this new episode with us! as always, I loved how you really try to get to know the sims with all their backstories/previous hobbies etc. It was fun watching you struggle with the bathroom space, we all know how it is to have some irregular space and trying to fit everything in there. You did great! I really like how it turned out in the end.
I hate it, to call sims who are at work and not knowing when to call again, therefore I got the mod better phone messages by cyjon, which besides nicer phone messages also tells you when they will be back.
First, you said you wouldn’t let Celeste write a novel because you tend to default to that, but in the end, you let her do it anyway. I mean, she still had that want and was very persuasive, but it’s nice to see I’m not alone in defaulting once in a while :D

Haha yeah, she wore me down, but yeah you're alone - there's not much else for film & literature sims to do except reading and watching movies sadly, it's easy to get stuck on the writing
Always excited when I see you've uploaded! I really liked these girls, Celeste's interest in oceanography and the environemnt was especially interesting. I feel you on the pain of trying to re-arrange bathrooms! It's funny, I play with half-walls so I never really noticed the door issue until you mentioned it in your videos, I always keep that in mind when placing toilets now though xD

Hello Ani! Quick question, @ around 41:00, you spun the sink around. How were you able to turn it the way you did? When I use the < key I’m only able to turn items diagonally, etc

the place looks so cute, makes me want to go on a cc downloading spree but i'm meant to be removing a bunch of junk i downloaded... What as that mod?? Selecting learning speed on the bookshelf? Never seen that before. The girls look super cute, love how you keep their original look in mind. Aw Rod, I have him banned or modded out but watching those Life by You videos lately, he sounds like a sweet guy. Do you have any interest in that game btw? It looks a lot like sims 3, and i prefer having control over everything but i like the active careers. The toilet struggle lmao, i wish the game was better with them navigating diagonals and smaller areas but there's only so much we can ask of this ancient game modded to an inch of it's life.

I actually tried modding Rod out of my game not too long ago, and it started throwing fun little error messages whenever I moved in a family 🤭 So I guess he's staying.
My interest in Life by You, Paralives and any other life sims besides ts2 (the other sims games included) is very lukewarm at best. I think it's just that I'm so invested in ts2 and I don't feel the need to replace it, but that's often what I feel before actually starting to play any new game. Could be that once I sit down to play Life by You I fall in love with it, it's happened before, but right now I'm good, if that makes sense. From what I've seen it appears to have a lot of cool features though - like you mention, the active careers, but also the way the characters interract with one another. Could be really fun 😊
Haha yeah me too - it's very intersting how some things work perfectly well no matter how you turn it or place it down with snapping off (like excercise machines for example). And then there's stuff like wardrobes that just refuse to work if anything else comes too close. It's fun to figure out though - the feeling you get when you get it just right is really satisfying
@@AniBats ah it's just the time control clock, i must have missed that, i thought it was a good learning speed mod lol.I haven't had any issues with getting rid of Rod as far as i can tell, don't even know what i'm using for that though so the need to sort my mods and cc ..again. I don't think anything will ever quite have that charm and grip on me like the early sims games had, and of course the lore everyone is still obsessed with. I think a lot of the new sim games seem to forget that the original characters and mysteries are what kept a lot of people engaged with the game, and it's more important than adjusting my sims breast size. I think you had to use your imagination and be creative more this way too with how you envision their character. But i would be happy for a good alternative, so i hope that Life By You offers us something new. Paralives never looked too interesting to me though because of the art style, and I feel they won't be able to deliver on what they are promising anyway since they are a little too ambitious with all that they hope to implement.

That sounds like a cool mod though! Imangine being able to adjust learning speed sim by sim, that would be really cool. Haha I feel you, the work of sorting out the mods is never-ending it seems!
Yeah I agree, the lore is so important, but I'm sure it's a lot of nostalgia too, besides it being an incredible game of course. The early sims games were really enchanting a whole generation ❤ Haha indeed, the story, characters and, I agree, the mystieries really are so engaging - the focus has really shifted way to much to the visuals, and it's become far too superficial because of it I feel like. We could really hope for goods things when it comes to Life By You, and who knows maybe Paralives as well. Although I agree with you that the art style isn't very compelling. It's great that some competition is coming EA's way though, that's healthy for them 🤭
@@AniBats ah maybe one of the words i used was flagged by youtube, who knows, they get really picky with the language you can use nowadays. I'm tempted to play a bit of sims 1 again since i didn't experience it all as a kid, i think it had some features that didn't even make it into the newer games, or i will just play the old town remake for the sims 2 with the ancestral sims, though i might have done that too many times already haha. I guess it is nostalgia but the old games were just so magical, i wonder if it's possible to recapture that feeling at my age now lmao, i miss how amazing it all used to be, but it was kind of the golden age of gaming then, with all the studios trying something new and you experienced it for the first time, now it's just slight improvements over the old stuff so i guess it's never going to be the same. Anyway looking forward to seeing more of your videos!! Love re-watching while i play myself.
TS1 is such a different experience than TS2, but there's a lot of great stuff in there - don't know how much of it is nostalgia though for me, since I did play it as a kid, but I'm sure you'll have lots of fun even without that. As you say, there's a bunch of stuff that's really cool but that didn't make it into the newer games. Especially "Making Magic" had a lot of cool magic related features that the newer games can only dream of. The magic system in TS2 is a joke next to it, I remember being so disappointed when Apartment Life came out. 😂 The downside is of course that the sims don't age, and every day is the same (no seasons or days off work) so it's easy to get bored I find.
I've never tried playing Old Town in TS2, but I really love the idea of it! That's awesome that you've played it many times; it must be a thrill to see the story you know play out differently each time, sort of like parallel universes. The old games really were on a different level. I hope we get back to that again eventually, when visuals stop being the priority over gameplay. One day ❤
