- Vamsi Custer was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Her family pushed and encouraged her to seize the opportunities that wealth gave her and become wildly successful. Sure enough, she became successful, but not in the way that her family had anticipated... Now, her daughter is growing older, with ambitions of her own. Question is, will she make it to superstardom, or has her mother's profession colored her worldview too much?

I like to think Vamsi is old money because she shares her last name with one of the main streets in downtown, Custer Blvd. Maybe her family was instrumental in building up downtown!

Downtown has drawn tons of Military and Criminals to its streets 😂
I do have one question. In Pleasantview, with Angela debating about taking that Medical job in Downtown - if she does - will that crossover with this play-through?

I really like the idea of a crossover like that, but sadly my Pleasantview series would slow down the Downtown series too much if I connect them. One of the good things with having Downtown as a second series running parallel with the Pleasantview one is that it will allow me to post episodes more frequently, whereas the PV-eps will be further in between due to the machinima scenes. It's very possible that I'll add in some cutscenes from "Downtown" if it fits in Pleasantview 😊 It'll just be a different Downtown
The kitties sleeping under the covers are so cute! I love the makeover you gave Swan. It's true to her iconic style but looks more updated.
I can see Swan being the popular girl in school, and I really hope she go steady with a girl, her friendship with Lakshmi suits her very well, I think they would be best friends in the end. I can see Swan also beig rebelious, but she is a little scared of her mother (because of the criminal job), so she doesn't let her mom knows about anything she does outside their house.

Suan kinda reminds me of Meadow Soprano because of her parent being involved in criminal activities. In the Sopranos, Meadow knows about her father being a mob boss and she does her best not to disclose that info to anyone else. Though deep down she is suffering because of his life choices.

Whoa, Vamsi is a criminal? Perhaps she's selling poorly made household appliances, or maybe even stolen cars! Her hobby is tinkering. For Swan, I could definitely see her as a future rock god or something.

Loved it. I love the while John Smith Tricou situation. Like the tea is real. I’m assuming that there is going to be a really big storyline with that? Also maybe since she is about to be friends with Loren and Orion maybe they are like going to figure it out that they are related since all the Tricous are pleasure sim I feel like that’s genetic lol. Can’t wait for the next part.

omg i loveee the kitchen, good use of that wood barrier from kitchen basic. I never know how to attach island counters to a regular block of counters, it's so annoying. I'm going to try out your trick next time! Their apartment is gorgeous, watching you decorate and go through all the different recolors was such glamorous eye candy lol! Yesss so happy you got to try out the island counter desks, they are so fun, and the laptop on the island looks so good. Omg I know, someone needs to make a mod so we can click "go here" on rugs lol it's such a hassle when you have a huge area rug in a small room! aw the cat under the covers was so cute 😭
Thank you 🥰 I love the island counter desks - thank you again for showcasing them in your video ❤ Haha I know right, that's such a hazzle to direct the sims on rugs. The maxis rugs don't have that problem so I'm sure it must be possible to create a mod like that or modify the rug files themselves 🤔

Dear Vamsi's occupation is quite interesting, also interesting to think about her connection with Swans father. Vamsi might know Jessica through her job if she is smuggling art, or as you said from back in the day. She could also smuggle exotic pets as the bengals are quite rare.. There is many options. They might have meet Jon Smith at the ballet, where Lindsey also might have met him, as they are high society ladies. Or he might have been a shady fertility expert, but that make it strange with lindseys story..
Swan looks so cool! I have always seen her a geek interested in Japanese culture, but I like her more like a preppy yet alternative uppeclass girl. Would be so fun with a sibling band with Swan and Orion, hopefully another of the Teen also enjoy music.

It would definitely make sense if Vamsi and Jessica became friends if it's to do with smuggling art - that makes a world of sense what with Jessica filling up her townhouse with artworks and always looking for new pieces. Good point about the cats too, that could definitely be a "benefit" Vamsi got from her job. I have been waiting to see the first household to move to the high-rise. It turned out great and plays pretty well with saved camera positions - and using the sim menu to move around is also a good tactic 😅.
Since every apartment household in sims 2 is it's own sublot, I wonder if you could save more camera positions and fill all the available slots.
2. I love how you decorated the apartment. That counter desk mod blew my mind. Can't believe it's been around that long and I never saw it.
Btw, there are defaults and retextures of the nectar bar to remove the top part - then you can integrate it anywhere. I usually put mine on a BB countertop. Pineapple forest has some cute defaults of the bottles and tumblers too.
3. I sense that some community builds will be popping up soon 😏. Playing with the families first and building the town as you go really allows you to see what your town needs. I'm here thinking - oohh she might do a health centre and spa, some type of cosmopolitan build 😂!
4. When you where buying a cat for them all I could think about was the big cats recently posted to Mod The Sims. Imagine if they had a tiger, jaguar or panther😅!? That's pushing the criminal/super rich angle a bit far haha - maybe for the diva 😏.
I'm kidding of course! I love their cats 😺.

Thanks! Yeah the camera angles really is a life-saver in houses like these. Each apartment is its own sublot, as you say, so the camera angles won't be saved in between - I'll have to set them up for each unit. But yeah absolutely, more than two are definitely possible. As far as I know, the numbers 4-0 are available.

Haha yeah definitely, this city will first truly come alive once the community lots start popping up. Yeah, and I think it's also a good way not to get overwhelmed at once, getting trapped in the desire to finish everything all at once, which is so easy to do with this game.

my second comment of the day, on my 5th rewatch of this video! i agree with a lot of everyone’s sentiment that vamsi reads as a art smuggler. i think it could make for a very interesting story, where she comes from a family of prestigious art critics or gallery owners; something she never really had the greatest interest in besides just appreciating objectively beautiful artwork. i think she got into the smuggling aspect by wanting to cut corners when it came to filling the family’s art gallery. but upon seeing how much money she could make into smuggling art herself, alongside selling/displaying stolen or replicated artworks, she just couldn’t resist the idea of saving money and making twice as much.
likewise, i think with jessica being so into art, she’s become one of vamsi’s favorite buyers. largely because she doesn’t do too much digging into the origin of the art she buys, and trusts vamsi implicitly when it comes to the things she buys. after all, why would she suspect vamsi of selling stolen or smuggled works?
as for swan and vamsi, i got the feel that vamsi isn’t the type of mother who cares to lie to her daughter about anything. she doesn’t see much wrong with the business she does, or the fact that swan’s father was a married man with enough children to start a make up a sports team. poor swan though. i’m sure part of her could appreciate any honesty she gets from her mom, but depending on the extent of that honesty, i’m sure there are plenty of things that she wished her mom just never told her in the first place.
apologies for me going on such a tangent and letting my thoughts run so wild with your sims! but you really bring out the writer in me! the way you create stories for you sims (or even just get minds racing with a one-off comment on your own assessment of them) is truly so infectious. and very entertaining! i hope you’re having a good day!
Thank you, I'm so glad and flattered that you're enjoying the series that much 🥰❤ Yeah I think it checks out that it would be art too, and it'll be a lot easer a story to tell for me too - I can somewhat sympathize more with her if she's a comparatively "harmless" criminal than what other things she could be up to. I really love the thought of Jessica and Vamsi growing closer through that art, it just fell into place really neatly.
Yeah I think you're right that Vamsi wouldn't lie to Swan about anything - I feel like she's super realistic and tough-skinned, and that she wants her daughter to be the same way as her.

As always, love seeing what you do with the sims and their apartments, your teen rooms are always so atmospheric and I can really see the art smuggler route. What default replacement do you use for your pet’s eyes? They look nice!
Thank you 🥰❤ The camera angles is a basegame feature. There are actually pre-set up camera angles in some of the premade houses. If you pop into the Pleasant House for example (if I recall correctly), there are a few you can switch between. That's also how I switch from a hood overview to directly go down to the houses during my Pleasantview intros - I set up the camera angles before I start filming, and then click nr 5 on my keyboard to zoom in on the house.

Why don't you transform the garage into a gym for the building?
You can use a cheat to place objects in common areas. But if you want to enable full build mode and further customisations you have to move the Sims out, turn the lot back to residential and then back to apartment base before you can move the sims in. She would lose all the decorating she did because the apartments reset to the base - she didn't decorate the apartment base.
Yes, exactly, and also: I want to encourage myself to bring the sims out to community lots. I think especially in a city like this, it will feel much more alive and bustling if the sims move around across town a lot 😊
