For sale is a 3D printed shifter that fits into your Tesla Model 3 or Y's cup holder location.
This shifter was designed to feel as close to a real shifter as possible with resistant and makes a subtle clicking sound when you shift into gears.
It features a 5 speed with Reverse (R) gated shifter top cover.
Majority of the shifter is printed in PETG filament which is known to its strength and durability to withstand outdoor usage.
However, there are a few hardware used that is not 3D printed, such as a 3/8 in.-16 X 3-1/2 in., A307 Grade A bolt as a shift shaft, (4) M2 bolts and PTFE tube as a sliding rail.
Shifter fits snugly into cup holder location and surprisingly the position of shifter is perfect when you rest your arm on the arm rest, your hand naturally falls onto the shift knob.
This shifter does absolutely nothing other than a display and provide a fun gear shifting experience, it does not actually work as a gear selector for your car.
Please use with care, although it is printed with strong/durable material with weeks of testing to ensure durability. It is still a 3D printed movable object.

Such a fun idea! I have a manual NA Miata and will be getting the Model 3 as my daily next month. Question: Can a real shift knob be used or would the weight/thread pitch be an issue? Could there be an option for a longer threaded bolt for a vertical fist pull action rather than a claw like form where the fist is horizontal as shown in your demo?

Haha to be honest, I have no idea, I would assume it would fit but won’t be exact since this is designed pretty precisely to fit a Tesla model 3/Y.

Thanks man, however i wouldn't buying this for another vehicle since this is designed specifically to fit the Tesla Model 3 cup holder, if you put this in another cars cup holder, fitment maybe loose, may stick out or sunken in, or don't fit at all

I never wanted something that was so fun and unnecessary haha. Would it be possible if you make the default knob removable to accommodate actual shift knobs? I would imagine you would have the change the thread pitch to allow for actual shift knobs.
I just watched the video all the way through and it looks like you actually chose the auto industry standard? Is that right?
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find an affordable option to use standard thread for the actual shift knob. (Most are 12x1.25 or 1.5) so I used 3/8-16, very odd size, but a simple and effective way to adapt is to add some electrical tape to the thread of the 3/8-16 bolt, it holes and threads fine

Simply just buy a cheap manual car, simple. If you can afford a worthless Tesla that costs over 10,000 dollars just to replace the battery incase it explodes, then you can afford a durable car or truck from the 90s or early 2000s that’s a manual too.
