Beautiful work awesome video thanks for sharing it. I need to make one suggestion which I hope you receive well intended.
For a right handed shooter the bolt needs to go to the right side. So you can pull back the bolt without your face being in the way. Or you have to lift your head several inches to work the bolt. This is a left handed shooters rifle as I see it.
If this is a left handed shooters rifle then the scope adjustment nobs need to be on the right side or you cannot support the rear of the weapon when looking down a scope as you make adjustments. This is a right handed scope you have made.
No professional shooter would make this mistake but it’s something a civilian would miss. I hope this detail helps in future designs keep it up!

Hey there friend,
Try not to use many tri faces or tris. Just a tip... plus those boolean modifiers!!! Dude if you're gonna be exporting that gun, its gonna be glitched. Not a big problem.

Blakb1rd Just a question, but what are the disadvantages of using tris over quads?
Ngons and triangles can also cause some strange issues at render time. While everything may look good in the viewport, once rendered you may notice some very strange artifacts happening.
Plus many more such as UV unwrapping and smoothing the mesh.
I was thinking just the same, I'll will look glitchy when rendering. Also Uv mapping is going to be so tedious! But overall is good :)
it would be the same, exporting triangulates anyways, and the render will only look glitchy if it's non-planar faces

@@starshine3796 triangles aren't that bad, a game engine triangulates all faces so it doesn't really matter that much

i thought everyone modelled in queds for importing into game engines but guess ngons and tris are okay to have if you aren't using your model for anything other than reference, might have been because of speed modelling dunno?
This is great! The only things I see wrong are 1. A bit too chunky for the gun you chose 2. The bolt is supposed to be on the right side
some guns come in special configurations for left and right handed people
I think youre mixing your left and right up because in the video it is in the left hand side, it should be on the right hand side. The reason most rifles have the bolt on the right hand side is because the majority of people are right side dominant so having it in the right hand side 1. Makes it easier to arm the bolt with your right hand, 2. Stops the bolt recoiling into your face and smashing your teeth, and 3. Stops the jacket/shell of the round from hitting you in the face when it ejects. There are rifles that have the bolts and ejection ports on the left, but they're usually custom made for left handers and not common.

I think you got good skills and I wonder how you're doing now. The rifle you selected is much more curvy -- it's not just one or two bevels on the edge. You make it look boxy. Also most places of the gun you need to double the geometry so it doesn't look so blocky. The barrel, the scope, the suppressor, various places. Also the little holes on the stock are not just recesses, those are actual bolts. And your bolt handle looks like a piece of spaghetti

+Robin Eid The whole project, including video editing and draft modeling took about a week. Obviously, the video was recorded on different days in multiple 'episodes'.
+Mol3 qul The raw recorded footage alone is just over 12 hours long however.

oh god, those booleans will crate nasty glitchiness if imported, I see you tried your best to create tris and lessen the amount of 5+ edge polys, over all great job, just use more extruding and less booleans
I was wondering about that. Like, is it alright if he just practically disregards clean topology like this, since it won't be deforming?
"if imported" - the creator never said anything about bringing this into a game engine. On a different note, topology doesn't matter if you're building a 3D asset for any modern game, because when you're done with the high poly you will create a retopologised lowpoly anyway

Vertex extrude
he meant how to create a single vertex
Click on a vertex on any shape, Shift+D (duplicate) and place it on any part of that circle, then press e to extrude and make the circle.

How and where did you learn blender, because im doing something wrong.
CZcams, groups, forums and various websites. Learned everything on my own. Search up a tutorial on anything you're interested in and pay attention to the tools, shortcuts, methods, modifiers etc. that they're using. You'll be surprised by how much you can learn from a single article or CZcams tutorial if you research those aspects a little further

its trash coz UV unwrapping is pain in the ass for those kind of gadgetry and textures wont look good on it coz it has booleans.
once this kind of model is made the way hes made it. fixing it and making it quads is not easy. even tho you convert it to quads the geometry wont remain the same. looks wise awesome. practical vise useless
he did everything right imo, flattened n-gons, boolean holes without too much subdivision and quads. Just usual non-subdivision surface modelling

@@dassatisfan he meant to say that this model can only be used for still renders. It ll be almost impossible to make uv maps for it so he ll need to remake the mesh in quads and non Boolean model. But it still look epic without any texture.
