@@YouseeMourinho He was always losing even with the moye off the top. As long as paulie had beast or spheres to out the swordsoul token, swordsoul couldn't make anything happen even with ashuna. Plus the followup from spheres guarantees the game afterward.

After 39:10 you can just see on Juan's face change to a smile after seeing Paulie planning the normal of Recharger after comboing through Nib, basically showing how much Paulie puts in the work and deserves his wins with the foresight of that play
I mean every dragon link player knows how to extend thru a nib on seals….it literally summons any dragon from deck😂
@@Ezj9727 sorry, but I don't think you exactly understand what I'm getting at, seals has nothing to do with it. It's the point at which he normal summoned compared to when it should have been used to summon Tracer when Ravine was up. He recovered the missed normal summon hella quickly and went for a Recharger add back line to end on Borrelend+Savage still minus a Boot Sector Launch, which was a cool line to watch

@@Acholight. its like he can normal tracer poping ravine, and later summon the rokket added back via boot sector launch. its, ideally, still a small misplay as losing both field spells is obviously minus, but ye as u said, he fix that misplay really well. Moreover, while i was watching the match, wondering how he could change a token to a body since it cant be used to make triple burst, and his cool move reminded me that he hadnt normal summon. What a move in the wcs finals

It's combo and complicated. People didn't mass spamm it because people are just too lazy too learn complicated decks. That's the reason it was underdog for so long.

It also used to just completely fold the moment its gameplan was neutralized by cards like DRNM, now it can pivot between different styles of play in one combo, play around DRNM, and even play after getting DRNM'd by followup and grind game, which were all things it could barely or straight up not do.
What is DRNM? (serious question, trying to return to ygo after 10y break ahah)
@@alexandrubragari1537 Dark ruler no more. Card that negates effects of all opponent monsters and they can't directly respond do it. You also can't deal any damage the turn you use it.
Very useful for clearing nasty fields, essential card.
Damn if the swordsoul player did his turn the other way around in game 1, he might have had a better chance. Veiler on mo ye, chain dragon circle, search shthana, special summon, then paulie does the same with branded beast to clear them both and Juan would have had longyuan into baronne or qixing
Yeah Search Vishuda ends him on Monk+Chixiao and you couldve even sent the branded beast back to hand with Vishuda so no weird shenanigans on Paulie Turn, even if Chixiao gets veilered it's Chixiao negate vs Lubelion+topdeck, better odds than moye pass

Magna and Druis are at 1 there and he went through both of them and no way he plays more than 1 Baldrake which was banished facedown so Saronir is the last one left and if he really had Saro in the hand he for sure would've summoned it in his turn as an extender and get access to Regained + Beast.
Meaning he definitely had no more Bystial left in the hand.

Finally, a finals that ends with two fucking awesome decks squaring off. No bullshit mill garbage, no non-Eldlich trap archetype cancer, just two fantastic decks clashing. May the best man win.

it's worlds format. all the hits the deck has are from the ocg. all the bystials are limited cause ??? chaos ruler. don't get me wrong I'm not opposed to a lot of the ocg hits and I'd want them here but some are wacky.

Tbf bystials are a mistake and abyssmal card design. They all need to be gutted regardless of worlds but I dont see it happening next list, possibly after the mega tins tho
Why the heck are yall saying that D Link is getting hit next list? Worlds is it's own format and has nothing to do with the TCG. Did they hit Blue Eyes after it won worlds? D is good at the TCG sure, but there are like, 3 better decks than it running arround
Why DB keep saying Droll is not good againt Swordsoul? Droll turns off all their plusses the way i see it, if the use Emergence or any search card and you droll they cant do the draw 2 and search and put them in having the cards in hand. Unless i am missing somethings Droll and Nib should be best hand traps againts Sowedsoul in my book.
Droll doesn't hurt the normal combo. Ash hits a hand that needs emergence way harder then droll as they don't get any monster, droll still gives them the level 8 synchro minimum. And Nib is useless because of Baronne.
@kirkprice8456 your banking on them having the perfect hand, Ash is useless againt them as it only trades one for 1! Also if they already have the combo in hand Ash does nothing if you are being realistic and pointing out situations your going Neg 1 using Ash as they will + 2-3... Furthermore Baron? All SW players cannot make a 10 before their plays, if that was the case NiB/Token collector wouldn't have been blowout cards againts them in SW format. We have even seem this on Stream how NiB blowout SW at many YCS, Just saying.. Droll cuts off the combo, which would only give then a Baron or Grandmaster and putting them on having the rest of the card in hand from drawing and no searching and or drawing 2 more cards. 1 negate is easy to get over! If their hand is bad a well timed Ash can cripple them, but I would rather have Droll and or NiB againts them for you maybe different.

If they draw starter+Long, or starter+Emergence (not even that rare if they play Desires), they can go for a level 10 before Chixiao and search Blackout at the end of their combo; this is standard level play for SS, even more basic than the Chaofeng lines.

Because leaving seyfert on field means opponent can go into striker dragon, which will bait out your ash anyway or letting it resolve and allowing opponent to special their potential rokket on hand. Remember we know their hand but they do not.

Paulie really improved throughout the event his first feature was not very good he got lucky vs an unexperienced player. Amazing deck choice I knew 1 of everything didn't matter the cards just plus you just go get other dragon cards lol

dragon link is really hard to play, this deck is like containing tons of bricks and soft bricks and the one who can solve all such hands will make it undefeatable. making mistakes while playing dragons is not something thats strange tbh.

Dragon link isnt that good in tcg though, its just a very good take foor this event because the current top decks (and some from recent formats) are all basically unplayable due toi the combined list, lets say they limit Quick Launch and outright ban something key like romulus or striker, that does nothign to rebalance the current metagame, other than make the few people doing things with dragons play a different deck. I think master duel has a better chance of seeing hits since worlds actuzlly uses the master duel list, but i honestly wouldnt be surprised if they do hit dragons somehow.
Bruh this D-Link list is already nerfed than in the TCG or OCG & still won worlds.

@@jboyzboas This is just a "made-up trend" that people made, and it is actually straight-up untrue. Let me hit you up with history from 2013 to 2019. Note: Long wall of texts.
2013: Dragon Ruler was the 1 of the 2 playable deck in that format before the Worlds, and after the Worlds, the deck got hit'd, but is Tier 0 for 3 months, and then Tier 1/2 for 8 months.
2014: Infernity was the best deck in TCG, but is a bit underrepresented before Worlds. After the Worlds, only Soul Charge and Infernity Archfiend went to 1. Yes, in Worlds, Sou Charge was legal at 3 copies.
2015: Tellarknight sucks, and is more of a tier 2/3 deck before the Worlds. After the Worlds, only Rota was hit'd on the next banlist. However, this was 5 months later after the Worlds, and during that time, Nekroz was a deck. So actually, it wasn't because Tellarknight won Worlds, but it's because of another deck that didn't exist during the Worlds.
2016: Blue-Eyes fucking sucks. They literally did nothing before and after Worlds until the August 29th, 2016 banlist. Now, after winning the Worlds? It was decent, but later got powercrepted. Also, there were no hits on this deck at all.
2017: Dinosaur True King was a tier 2 deck in a Zoodiac Format, and after winning the Worlds, they got murdered alongside Zoodiac (keep in mind there were a lot of context behind why TKDino got hit'd as well).
2018: Trickstar Sky Striker is probably the second best deck behind Gouki, but it has the most representation overall, even in tops. After winning the Worlds, they only got minor hits. Like Hornet Drones to 1.
2019: Salamangreat was 1 of the 4 best decks, undoubtedly tier 1 for several months. But remember, after July Banlist, Circle and Gazelle were hit'd to 1. Then after winning Worlds, Salamangreat receive no hits in the next banlist. No hits at all. It's only the January 2020 banlist that finally murdered all 4 decks not because of Worlds, but because it was getting stale.
All of this are telling us that Decks are NOT getting murdered after winning Worlds. Yes, some decks were hit'd, BUT there are contexts behind them.

i have a really hard time accepting yugioh worlds as some sort of criteria for what is the 'best deck', given the heavily reduced card pool. also given that worlds is literally its own format, being the winner has no actual value.
Win is a value no matter what happens the next day/month/year it will always change
For the deck, sure, but the format is the same for everyone, so being the winner is prestigious.
If you can't play with a restricted card pool, that's a skill issue. A REAL champion is gonna win; regardless of the condition.
