BRUH I FEEL YOU. I've been waiting to have the motivation to finish this series for like 2 weeks now
actually learned som much from the series compared to the in-game tut. After in-game tut i was crushed as italy by the allies, next run i choose canada to just learn the game supporting the tommies. And now realy thinking about doing a middle east independent faction making my own war there.

@@Microphunktv-jb3kj sorry so what's your point? are you claiming that 'dark races' haven't actually been oppressed for centuries but we've been convinced that they have so we would then feel guilt or something? which would then bring about communism across the world? and why have you posted it here? as a reply to a comment that was blatantly a joke referencing this youtuber calling supply lines 'snacks'.

@1 2 bruh, the comment is a joke, sure its informative, but is said in a wrong place.
Goering has plans called "The Great Pringles Drop of Stalingrad" but that Russian AA was just too effective. Actually Pringles used to be flat but they needed a more aerodynamic shape to accommodate the Luftwaffe.
Interesting that the Panama Canal was located in Egypt in the 1930s! I never knew!

No, the trade system in EU IV is static. A dunamic trade route would be amazing if implemented

19:10 My grandfather's sister was in Leningrad during the siege. She was a young girl back then.
My dad has a book that his father took with him from the public library in Viipuri/Vyborg/Выборг when the Finnish troops retreated from there for the last time (he was a truck driver in the Finnish supply lines).
The siege of Leningrad was a terrible event. So much civilian suffering.
Glad she made it through.
I am sorry to hear that

I bought this game during 2021 Autumn Sales because I was looking for a fresh RTS game. This series, although it might be a little outdated but still doesn't matter because it pretty much covers the entirety of the game mechanics, helped me a lot in understanding as well as providing me with advanced tips as a veteran.
When I started playing Hearts of Iron 4 for the first time, I had no idea what to do (which was hours ago actually)
So instead of headbutting, I searched for tutorials and this series popped out.
I thank you for making such amazing tutorial videos.

i was attacking finland as what you did but then the allies and the axis helped finland and i died
When did you attack them? As a communist or fascist country you want to get these small wars done early. At the beginning of the game, the democratic countries aren't able to interfere, because their population doesn't want to start another great war, but as countries do aggressive things, world tension goes up and at certain thresholds, the democratic countries can intervene. Try to do the Finnish war before tension gets above 40%, or wait until the allies are distracted by fighting Germany. In fact if you wait until WW2 starts, Germany will probably also not intervene, since they are fighting the allies.
Keep in mind though, Germany will attack you eventually, so be ready for them.
@@Maladictem uhm as communist but france was helping him and then i got into war with france but italy and germany sended volunteers so i was fighting against allies and axis it was really weird and i died. i will try to attack finland late game then. btw thanks for the help
@@rickvanengelenburg6471 he just said do it early. Not late
@@Maladictem i know this is 3 months to late. But there is an amazing fallback line you can deploy that makes it almost impossible for germany to invade you. There is a river That makes a great blockade a little but before the Poland border. When war with Germany starts. Id recommends focusing on putting all of your defenses on that river, and let Germany take over the current starting border.

The first game I played as Finland, did not turn out so well
I'm new and i could only conquer bulgaria with turkey
I conquer netherlands and poland with german reich
Leningrad was actually surrounded by the Germans for over a year I think, they survived by shipping supplies across the frozen Lake/sea and also from Air-drops. Are air drops in the game?
will this video be updated to show the new rail mechanics and such?
Hey, if I'm not mistaken, air transport can send supply too right?
31:44 I'm pretty sure that it is done by faction and major nations in that faction
2:17 when he takes all that land is oddly satisfying
oop i meant 21:17
I think i've gone almost 100 hours without even knowing the extra mapmodes existed.
rly can't get over about how he called it the panama canal10:30
I need more knowledge on Navy and Air
I'm not getting the numbers information or green outlier when on supply mode (f4) is it dlc dependent?
Hi I just wondered can you just take a Country's overseas territory without having to defeat the country itself and also, if you defeat a country will their overseas territory automatically belong to you? Thankyou
regarding the capital and supplies dosent it means that if i just suround (sry for but english) the capital and not conquer it the troopers will eventuall run out of organization and die right??
LOL, 10:30 that is definitely not the Panama Canal.
it's only enough if you have as much convoys as the enemys population is large!
Everyone’s talking about the Panama Canal accident in the video but what about when he called the United Kingdom, the United States
Great vid
Thanks
10:31 That's the Suez Canal, just to let you know.
"karzhala" killed me
13:43 ah yes, United States!
10:30 wait did he just call the suez canal the Panama canal?
3:24 Actually fighting with empty stomach is good, as gut shots won't be as serious.
question here, im only part way through and I could just be an idiot and misheard, but im fairly new to hoi4 and he said that supply runs out of your capital and infrastructure is a multiplier for how fast it arrives, shouldn't it be that supplies are based on how many factories you have in said state then run out of that industry in that state instead of the industry in the capital?? If its not the latter point and its instead all out of the capital and that local industry and supplies play no part, that is rather disappointing when I think about it.
Yes and no. Same as in HoI3 eventually you'll hit a cap limit to how much supplies your infrastructure can handle (even you build up more factories). That is so because at least in HoI3 you were not very likely to build factories unless you changed the endgame to the 80s by manually changing the file in the game's folder or if you played a faction that was out of harms way for a long time e.g. the US or countries in South America. I'd wager to say it functions similar here only that I don't see a Supply resource like HoI3 had that you could actually run out of (which was the only way to actually beat the Soviets as Germany, just Blitz them and then push them over the limit before the US can enter the war properly).
only 2 more videos to go yes
What you're saying doesn't make sense. In my game I have provinces which have all numbers way higher than certain provinces my arrow (route) goes through. I still don't understand.
Can you specific what “province numbers” you’re talking about?
Since you trade one civilian factory, and GET 8 items, what does the other person get? Do they get to use the civilian factory? do they get an extra? Or can it only work with AI
Yes, factory. You can sell your stuff for factories
10:30 wrong canal bud 🤣
I did not know that the every capital had a diamond by it. xD
*Immediately checks comments when calls the Suez Canal, Panama Canal*
...the panama canal...
Is it possible to go for war without enemy knows it?
Do you need to manually supply your troops?
no
Nice series of vids, but ... Suez Canal, not Panama Canal
You cannot drop supplies with transport planes ?
You can ever since the air rework
Wait as a Russian player i need supplies? This isn't lore friendly 🤣
But after v1.5 you can sent supplise from airport
Taha Hassanpoor Suplies Jackass.
"out of snacks"...LMAO
I have a question: What do I get from exporting materials to other countries?
You get extra civilian factories
i don't get why all supplies flow out of the capital. what's to stop me from paratrooping into a country's capital, surrounding it, and just exhausting the whole country's supply? seems like a broken mechanic to me
Generally Your opponents will have entrenched divisions around their capitals and other important cities/infrastructure. If you have the troops to pull it off then go for it, but your boys will have no supply themselves being dropped behind enemy lines. Fail to take the capital and all you have done is send your brave brave soldiers to their deaths. :)
Panama
lol
Thanks for this video! I just won my first war :D
What was the war?
Why you cant train paratroopers? The icon there is grey
He's over the special forces cap. The Soviet Union starts with a bunch of big mountain divisions that even with the huge starting army it makes impossible to recruit more special forces battalions.
@@sld1776 Thanks
Can we escort somehow convoys
No but you can place submarines on the convoy path I think
Yes. Put a bunch of destroyers on the 'escort' mission in the areas in which your convoys are moving. I build the cheapest destroyer possible for this mission because the most important part of the escort mission is the number of ships in mission.
34:57 "That will make Finland Communist, which means we would rename them the Democratic republic of Finland or something like that." Communist Democracy at its finest :P

What determines the amount of supply generated in capital?

More infrastructure = more supply can go through
36:17 how to take manpower from puppets
18:30 Too real for a game.
quill my man you need to make 40 width infantry, im cringing but thankyou for the tutorial
Eh, against the ai, it isn't really necessary.
17/3 is all you need against AI in my experience. Plus maintaining production for 40 width while trying to make a tutorial might blow past most peoples heads.
Why not 20-width infantry? Two 20-width are the same as one 40-width, right? Or did I misunderstand something from this tutorial?
I figured that 20-width might even be more flexible. But I don't know anything about it, myself.
40 width infantry including 4 art is better across the board and that why its preferred in multiplayer @Bill Garthright
@@Darmix
OK, but wouldn't two 20-width infantry with 2 artillery each do the exact same thing? Plus, you could fit them into more places, right?
I'm just trying to learn the game, and I'm not interested in multiplayer, myself. I just don't understand why a bigger division would be better than two smaller divisions which add up to the exact same thing.
Blitzgreig.
Holy fuck this game seems complex.
You didnt tell us how you would prevent being encircled
Why when I invaded Finland did I just annex the entire thing automatically?
When a country capitulates, a peace deal might not happen for a while. Also if you're at war with multiple countries, check if one of them is a major power, as a peace deal cant happen until they have been defeated.
So the lack of onions did affect the Iraq army to fight
