    Even after you’ve earned your degree, there is no guarantee you’ll get a good job. It’s a scam.

    This video is RIGHT on time! I was unemployed for 7 months and exhausted my savings. I was unable to keep up on my credit card payments and everything has snowballed and is out of control and are MONTHS overdue. I managed to get a new job making less money but still too much money to qualify for BK (trust, I looked into it). My plan is just to charge it all off to the game haha, and start anew. If was a tough decision because I had an almost 800 credit score before I was unemployed. Moving to Mexico with my now remote job for a few months to save money is an option I'm seriously considering.

      I really hate how one stint of unemployment or illness can completely knock your house of cards down. I’m still only partially recovering financially from the aftermath of a health condition I developed 7 years ago. I’m earning more but my situation is still precarious and I have a lot of debt now. I’ve been looking into BK but unless my side job ends I make too much too. 😪

    Great video and insight from you both. It’s no joke the way we are set up to fail financially, from the get go. This is especially true for our people. But, the more I give myself grace and release mistakes (which I’ve learned from by the way), I can see how to move strategically. Adalia, your channel was the first to give me hope that I too could move abroad for a better quality of life.

    Thanks for this discussion. There was so much great information shared.
    About timing:
    I began listening to this on Juneteenth while on my way home from out-and-abouting. A few minutes after the discussion about many people not having funds to cover a $400 emergency, my car was rear-ended at a traffic light by a big rig truck. Hello emergency! Thankfully, I walked away and can manage the emergency. I thought how I was listening to you two talk about financial emergencies minutes before.

    On credit lines:
    Periodically, I get notices from my primary card company about lowering my credit line because my utilization is low. (I am also one of the folks the card companies talk about because of my diligence about paying in full.😅) I call in to keep it the same. On the other hand, I also get periodic notices to update my income information so they can raise the limit. I ignore those.

    Hello Picky Girl nation. I am catching this on the replay. Excellent topic of discussion. I loved this discussion. Looking at one’s debt, as well as making efforts to attack it, has the potential to significantly improve one’s health and quality of life. You, two, were just wonderful. I learned so much.

    I just went to the store too use my card. And low low and behold they had decreased the limit 😅. Here I am fussing about my limit. So I know for a fact this information is true. Iit was oone of the cards I kept in good standing standing due to a disability last year and I wasn't working.

    Is getting a card to payoff a card balance at 0% interest for 18 months a good strategy? I have OK credit score and one card.

    • @AdaliaAborisade
      @AdaliaAborisade  Před měsícem +2

      This is definitely an option but you gotta have a strategy for paying it off before the back interest kicks in.

    Important conversation about bad credit card debt and it is important to spend money wisely and not foolishly and when you know better you do better. and it is better to try and save money for a rainy day. 😊
