I bought Cornwalls new in 1980 when I was 16 years old and never looked back. My friend's $30K+ Sonus Faber and McIntosh system never came close to my Cornwalls with a simple Yamaha amp. I was always sensitive to time delay issues caused by folded woofer horns in the LaScala and Klipschorn and have always held that the Cornwall is the best sounding speaker in the Heritage lineup and the best speaker overall under $50k a pair.
The KLIPSCH FORTÈ IV are a true force of nature,they are magical with those deep tones and the perfect horns that give au extraordinary tonal performance.
Yes, the Cornwall's are truly fantastic (as all Klipsch Heritage speakers are), and possibility the funnest speaker ever made! They'll play loud as hell, sound so life like and real, and because of their efficiency they are great at low level too. Take them to the next level with McIntosh or Audio Research separates for amplification. That will be a huge step up from the Rotel.
What you say is definitely true you get so much better 2ch music enjoyment with a Stereo Amp, just add Stereo Amp with AV Bypass to Preouts on AV Receiver then, add Music Sources to Stereo Amp, turn off AV Receiver and use Stereo Amp for better Enjoyable Music playback
I have a new pair of the Chive's.The placement makes a huge difference.I set them as far apart as possible and angled the tweeter with the right speaker to my left ear and the left speaker to my right ear.I can play them soft or loud now as the glare and harshness is gone from my previous placement.Gday mate,LOL! & yes, the CW is the best of the Heritage line.
It always gives me a kick when someone new discovers these speakers. I've had Cornwall III's for 8 years now and may never want to replace them. Stereo only, mainly classical and jazz. If you don't want to get into tubes get a 30-50 watt class A SS amp and you're done.
What a huge difference the electronics make huh?! No doubt it was even more dramatic in person, compared to listening to it through my iPhone, and my relatively cheap iPhone headphones
I have a YAMAHA A3070 aventage and i don't use the front amp... i switch between my Musical-Fidelity M8 500S (500w) my Sony TA-N80es and my Couterpoint tweaked SA-12 power amplifier... i use the preamp and dac of the receiver for the moment... but i'm gonna buy a good preamp-dac soon... and maybe sell my home ATMOS setup... in PURE-DIRECTE mode the sound is well good but i'm sure with better dac-preamp the fun gonna be there 😛
@@homecinemaking397 i want to know.. the Marantz sound test is made with only the receiver only ?? ( surely yes... 😉) but i can say that in preamp use my Yamaha did a very good job with all my extern amps. Of course. I listen them with Magnepan tweaked MG-12 ( Cardas plugs no fuses etc) a pair of tweaker B&W 801 and a pair of TRIANGLE antal esw....and finally 3 subs...( SVS and Paradigm) I"m really close to sell my ATMOS setup soon.... really soon....☺Thank for the answer bro !!!!!
Hey mate! Huge fan, have you got any thoughts on pairing the Rotel S14 with the Klipsch RF7 III? If it can power the Cornwall, could it also handle the two 10's ? I currently power my rf7s with the Bluesound Powernode

The RF7’s dip to 3 ohms, so they require big power to sound their best, especially if you like to crank it up and/or play bass heavy music. And you will be rewarded - the RF7’s produce staggering amounts of bass!

@@Joel-fz2uf for me the Arcam is the same as the NAD. Sounds great but lacks the R&D that goes into Marantz so not as refined and not nearly as well balanced over all.

Did you find raising them off the floor made them sound better? I have a pair but they just sit on the floor
No i mainly did it so they dont get damaged with cleaning.
Which AC power cords do you use and line conditioner for your equipment also how much power are you using to push these speakers.
On power conditioner ill do a video soon. Power for these i have a few amps.

I have not tested tubes and in my testing it was the new Rotels that preform best. S14 and RAS5000.
I would definitely invite my next door apartment dwellers to help unpack these beasts.

Custom made isolation plinths. Did not notice any sound improvements. I did it mostly so cleaning the floor would not risk damage to the speakers.

Completely different leagues here. R700 is more of a daily driver there the Cornwall is your weekend supercar if that makes sense.
