Once you've created your perfect blend, it's mixed with the Hydrating Oil Base and poured into the glass roller bottle. The base is a lightweight combination of grapeseed oil, squalane oil, jojoba oil, fractioned coconut oil, rosehip seed oil, and vitamin E. It absorbs quickly into the skin, so it's great for body oil. The roller bottle makes application quick and mess free.

Hi as a certified aromatherapist I would recommend home users use an eyedropper for blending. For adult face it is a total of 25 drops in 100 ml of base oil such as jojoba, olive oil. For body applications, it is 50 drops in 100ml of base oil. Therefore a safe amount in a 10 ml roller bottle use 10ml of base oil also known as a carrier oil. Then just add a total of 5 drops of essential oil However, in healthy adults making perfume you could add up to 8 drops of essential oil in your 10 ml roller bottle. Note the drippolater in the top of essential oil bottles is not a safe way to drop oils into a blend as oils all have different consistencies some drop out very fast and some drop out slowly. Happy blending xxx
I dont mean to be so off topic but does any of you know a method to get back into an instagram account?
I was dumb lost the account password. I would love any tips you can give me!
@Khalid Gregory Instablaster =)
@Juelz Tate i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@Juelz Tate It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my account!
@Khalid Gregory Glad I could help =)
This is really informative! I hope to see more from Flower on Bramble Berry.
I love how detailed she is. very nice and informative. :)
I have always shied away from essential oils but I found this so interesting and full of so many tips.thank you
I appreciate all the explanation! Thank you! ❤️😊
ignore the dilution ratio here people.
As a Clinical Aromatherapist, the dilution ratio used here is not safe.
Unless you are a clinical aromatherapist who knows their essential oil chemistry, you should not exceed 2.5% dilution.
For a 10ml roller bottle, that would be 10 drops of essential oil.
agreed. and measuring by weight, not drops or volume
What would you recommend for 1ml bottles?
@@tiffanywoolfrey7979 you'll have to do a larger weight than that. 100g at least. Then decant as needed into smaller bottles. I wouldn't keep dipping the alcohol eye dropper either. They usually come with drip tips anyway. Anywhere between 2.5-5% by weight is safe. Good to research for yourself and find dermal limits. 5% is more for short term uses if you trying to remedy a specific issue. 2.5-3% is safe for everyday use
That's what I was thinking! I see your comments often in the oily feeds, always good info :)
Totally & utterly agree.. This makes my head wobble..
I found this so useful! It was great to see you actually do it live, rather than just hear someone talking about how to do it. Thank you.
amazing so informative .I love essential oils .As a wellness practitioner I always incorporates essential oils on my base oil when I'm doing a massage.
Cedar wood essential oil is my favorite. I am addicted to its aroma. It’s really calming...
SO helpful this video. Thank you so very much!!!
Ty very much for this video! I'm about to start my own beard balm/oil company so I'm looking into blending oils and what not. I think alot of it will be learned from hands on experimenting, but surely this won't hurt any. I took some notes and learned a couple things. So your video does have value. That's for sure! ✌️
Thank you for all the information. Great tutorial I appreciate it
I love that her name is flower, what a beautiful sweet person. Literally made me smile, I am in quarantine right now.
It is amazing... Thanks for the tutorial
Love your name. It’s so befitting with your work. Thank you for the education 😊
Fantastic video x very very helpful and yes keep Flower around , she is super easy to watch.
Thanks Linda!!
Love your video. I am just starting with Oils. Soaps. Creams but i wanted to learn about oils before get started buying oils. Thank u. I have like 5 oils so i will play around with it and see where i go. Thank u. Much appreciated.. U kind. Bless you.. 🤗🙏
Thanks for the video of the blend oil
Flower I love ur teaching and practical. U are a genius and also amazing.. Keep it up... Am also proud of u....
I can't believe how close your Lavender blend is to my "Peaceful Gardens" blend!
I add just a nip more Sandalwood. Great minds think alike :)
Perfect! That's my way to understand 👍
Flower is adorable and I love the videos she's in and how informative and knowledgeable she is. Though quick tip about roller balls. The easiest way to get the ball part on is to put the lid on and start screwing down, it will automatically pop the ball in without any hand strength needed, cuz I have none and I needed a cheat😁
Thanks for the tip! So glad you enjoyed this video.
This was so awesome! Thank you so much, it was very educational! I've been studying more essential oils and their uses and this came at the perfect time! Kudos!
VERY INTERESTING and INFORMATIVE!
Outstanding video! Your presentation was so warm and welcoming! Clapping from Norfolk, VA!🤗
OMG, you shared soooo much! This was a WHOLE class full of learnin'. Thank you Flower!
Your suggestions on how not to cross contaminate your materials is precisely how you effectively cross contaminate your materials. Use disposable pipettes and toss them after each single use. Best
wasteful
I was just going to make a similar comment!
That’s a lot of waste… it’s unnecessary
@@heartrose6088 wasteful yet effectively good practice
great video! I cant wait to get started
Really informative.. Thank you
Very informative, thank you for sharing this video :)

This is awesome 👌
I really enjoyed this video. I've never used essential oils other than tea tree oil for my pets. I liked how you broke it all down and simplified it making easy to understand. Thank you so much!!! ☺☺🧚🏼♀️
Wait you use tea tree FOR your pets? Or am I misunderstanding. Because tea tree is one of the most dangerous for pets. Not trying to be mean this just worried me
Thank you so much for sharing. What are you cleaning the pipets with? Is that alcohol, or water?
Hi Flower. Is there a difference between distilling and extracting to get oils and is one process less pure than the other? Thanks
Hi Flower, can you explain to me why some essential oils are filled with Alchol & distilled water opposed to a carrier oil or a hydrating oil..
Thankyou in advance, love this informative information💞
Thank you are amazing.
Thank You!
Thank you it was interesting
I use an Anjou diffuser for my Fennel oils. I have sleep apnea. I have the 500 ML Anjou diffuser and it can last up to 8 hours. I put in about 30 drops for those 8 hours. Is it better to use distilled water for my diffuser?
Great Video!!! Thank you. It may be better to invest on a few droppers when mixing to avoid using the alcohol all the time... also to save time.
Thank you!
Absolutely love this video although I felt there was a few discrepancies when she said to cleanse the pipette after each dip into the bottles. Seemed like she missed a few moments to cleanse between dips. Also the amount of essential oils she used seemed heavy/too much for the size of the roller bottles?
They are very heavy even for making perfume.
Very grateful for the information shared and the impartation that I've received. What essential oil can I use instead of Ylang ylang, Geranium, Cedar, Bergamot, Patchouli and Clary Sage? They're not available in Ghana. Thanks.
This is amazing however I read you have to dilute essential oils with a 2% dilution which is like 6 drops of essential oil not 60. If its more that would really help me out!
Oh my I don’t know what I would do if wasn’t for your videos and I really trust the bramble berry brand so professional and pleasant representations 👍🏾
Now, how can I turn these drops into ounces to add to my soaps? Do I equate 1 part with 1 tbs or tsp.?
could you use isopropyl alcohol to clean the pipette between oils?
And thanks for sharing too.
Is it the same with making candles?
Very informative and these are great master blends. I would mix them in a 2oz bottle then add 6 or 7 drops max to a 10ml roller and fill with carrier for everyday use. Max derm limit on grapefruit is very low and having too much without a good amount of dilution burns badly. I learned the hard way sadly.
Yeah this is a 30% dilution! No thanks!
@@DiffuserDudeAromatherapy yep that's the reason I said master blend in a 2oz bottle then add 6 or 7 drops max to a 10 ml roller bottle with a carrier oil.
So... make a blend first using however many oils you want, let them mix, then take a dropper and add 6-7 drops? I want to make something complex besides 3 oils ratio'd within 7 drops. Just clarifying because I'm very interested in blending. Do you have anymore tips for roll-ons and blending? Feeling very inspired :)
@@RoyalGuardEziode yep that's it. I use more than 3 oils in a lot of my blends. Some times I use less than 6 to 7 drops in the roller bottle, just depends on how strong the scent is.
@@LizzyAnna thank you 😭 that makes me feel so much more confident. Have you been blending for the past two years, then?
Helpful.
Thank you for sharing this information with us! Excellent video.
Great "how to" video!
nice video, thanks
Pause!!! where did you get your microwave i love it
Nice video ❤❤
We’re do you get your Carrier and essential Oils from
Where can I find bulk or large bottle of essential oils?
You can use olive oil instead of alcohol to clean pipettes??
If I create a scejt in a 5ml and decide to make a 4 or 16oz f it l, what's the formula
do
you know how to use tea tree oil correct because i think i didnt use it
correct i applied a few drops on my face and started having this
burning sensation and red spots started to occur on my face
Love this! Would you double the final result for bathbombs? So 6mls essential oil?
It would depend on how big a batch of bath bombs you make and personal preference!
@@flogro9385 do you have other blends like clean fresh or eucalyptus you can share?
Hey, so the blend sounds great, but the dilution ratio seems way to high, was wondering why it's so high? The general dilution everywhere I have seen is 2-3% for daily use on body and normally 1% for the face. When I first started with essential oils I used a recipe from MLM rep which was 40 drops of Onguard in 10ml roller bottle which I thought seemed ok since Young Living says to put one or two drops neat of Thieves on your feet. Well I used the roller ball for 7 days and it turned my soft feet into wrinkly crunchy old man feet. That's when I started to research proper dilution ratios and learned that I should only have put 10-12 drops (15 max) now it doesn't do that to my feet.
Yeah this is 30% dilution!
I was going to ask the same thing! This totally threw off everything I know about properly diluting.
I was looking up dilution for the 10 ml blender roll on bottles as well, when I realized my old blends were well over. No wonder they worked so well on my pain. Doing more research tho as I deal with chronic pain and need to be able to use my blenders on a daily or even multi daily basis.
@@Laura0IN Hey, so if you are using them for pain that is when a certified aromatherapist could come in handy. Because there are certain oils that you can go over the dilution I gave which is just dilution in general. I would recommend checking out Lea Jacobson from Using Essential Oils Safely she could give you recipes that are effective yet safe. She is here on CZcams she also has a website.
Great video. How do you prevent cloudiness in the finished product?
You can try using polysorbate to help with holding the emulsification. Cloudiness generally is due to the ingredients though and may not be able to be removed without changing the recipe.
Minus the carrier oil…. Could I utilize this same concept for candle making?
You can!
I like ur videos very informative from where would u suggest to buy the oils and the rest if u could make a video ofc if u dont have 1 already ❤
We sell all the supplies you need to make body oil on our website, www.brambleberry.com
Flower, in perfume formulations you dilute stronger items in alchohol but for candles what is better than alcohol for dilution? I don't want to set myself on fire!
Just been to your website to see the deletion calculator can’t find it… I know I’m a bit dumb maybe you could post a link? Thanks
Thank you Bramble berry and Flower =]
I’d like to add also some people are extra sensitive to them and may need to have better ventilation or even wear a mask!
How many percent Lemon essential oil is danger to use?
Very informative. Tiny suggestion - It’s pronounced Ee-Lang Ee-Lang not yeelang yeelang. It’s a Filipino word.
Do you have starter kit that we can purchase including a book and all the materials for blending oils? Thank you.
We don't currently have a starting kit that includes our books but what a great idea! They can be purchased separately through our website at this time: www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-product/tools-and-accessories/books/in-print
I have read that it's best to add the essential oils to the bottle first and to let them marinate for about a month before adding the oil; as it makes for a much better smell. Have you heard this?
As someone who has used EOs my entire life I always find it funny when "experts" constantly mention the need for dilution. If you are using something daily and/or on sensitive sections of skin then definitely dilute. However, if using specifically when sick or healing scrapes you can totally use a couple drops undiluted 2-3x a day with no ill effects. Obviously test out on your skin first to know how it will react since some are harsher than others, but after that just use personal digression.
That said, for aroma purposes I love the paper towel trick!
for perfume, as far as i know, 30% dilution is too much. it should be 5-10% as far as i know
What is the name of those small bottles that got a marble inside?want them for my oils..and to.vids r great gonna try them
Those are amber glass roller bottles. You can find them here:
www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-product/packaging/bottles/amber-glass-roller-bottle-10-ml/V001247.html#q=roller&lang=default&start=1
Is there a problem blending too many essential oils together? I've been researching hair growth blends, and although I do find there seems to be standards out there for such a mix such as lavender, rosemary, and peppermint from there though I'm seeing others, but never all together such as cedarwood, tea tree, and thyme so I'm thinking of blending all these mentioned in a few carrier oils that again I never see all blended these are castor, pumpkin seed, jojoba, and coconut. All together that is 10 oils so if anyone knows if there are any issues with mixing so many, or feel it fine I'd appreciate some education in the matter. Don't want to find out that turns out t be the magic mix for making hair fall out instead :)
I would like to know too
The way she says, “You can probably use vodka!” Lol... Minute 8:23
can you use this type of oil as a massage oil?
Absolutely, just dilute the oils into a carrier oil such as sesame, sunflower or whatever works best for you! 2% is usually pretty good!
Thank you for the video. Just on a sidenote, sandalwood is endangered (like some other plants too - quick google search) and so I recommend not using it until the situation improves.
Thanks for the heads up! We do our best to use sustainable products!
What about Neem Oil?
Each bottle was contaminated by the alcohol between dippings and not dried off in between scents.
How many of those drops stayed in the plastic cup? Why didn't she use several disposable pipettes for each oil instead of trying to clean it off in water. I think that water was part of the drops and got into the bottles. I would not dip a wet pipette into my essential oil. That's just me. Very informative video though, and very helpful in mixing essential oils. Thank you.
It's alcohol, not water, but i would also use separate plastic pipetts for this, though that creates some plastic waste in the end.
Yes. It is very easy to forget to clean the pipette (and she has forgotten it several times, therefore mixing the essential oils, which is a shame) Some essential oil bottles have a dropper included and I love those. But I found this video really really good and informative.
It's not water dear, it's alcohol solution🙏🏾😉
Hi Flower, thank you so much for this informative video! I have a question. What essential oils measure amounts do you use for larger batches instead of personal use? Especially when you're mixing oils together? Measuring in drops when you want to sell things isnt an option right?
How to do make makeup foundetion?
Absolutely loved this! What an insightful video. We have just shared an ebook on the science and art behind perfume making for those who would be interested! ❤
I wish you would give other options with amounts to use for the carrier oil (yes olive oil was mentioned, but I would like to use a few different or could I use just sweet almond oil?), instead of a product made by Bramble Berry. I find this is happening more in your CP soap videos as well. I live in Australia and the postage to get those items to us is ridiculous. There is one place in Australia that sells some of the essential oil blends, but nothing else.
You can use sweet almond oil for sure!
I prefer cosmetic grade grapeseed oil. If ur in the US, WALMART sells on line. Grocery store GS oil is for cooking.
All carrier oils have pros and cons. Shelf life is important. However, I would not use olive oil. It's too thick, and it has it's own unique scent. I wish that wasn't so, as I always have it to cook with!🙋.
I have found many diffuser blends that I would like to add to my soap but I am not certain as to how to go from 10 drams to 50 pounds of soap.
A fragrance calculator might help! Good luck 🖤✌🏾
Use the essential oil calculator online!
Safer/easier to have a separate pipette for each scent. You contaminated the alcohol then dipped. That’s like double dipping.
i just got his cedarwood oil and it smells so yuck...like some body massage oil...i like the smell of Bleu de chanel and thought that because it is a woody scent i would like woody fragrances like cedar...but it smells bad...i dunno how cedar actually smells but sandalwood is nice to smell and also pine smells good to me...how should i blend for a nice woody scent that smells like bleu de chanel notes?
im sure you can find what notes is inside bleu de chanel
56 drops in 10ml, that's almost 19% dilution! 😱
Isn't grapefruit max dilution rate 4% (12 drops per 10ml)?
I believe grapefruit's max derm limit is less than that, but it do again 19% is way too much.
Is any way to tell me how many drops of essential oil I put on 100 ml base oil for body use for stretch marks? Im trying to make my own mix but in my country i cant find any help online. And how many base oils I can mix?
The recommended amount of essential oil will likely vary depending on the scent of the essential oil. Our fragrance calculator is a great resource for determining safe usage rates. For body oil, we suggest using the body lotion setting on the fragrance calculator, here's the link: www.brambleberry.com/calculator?calcType=fragrance
@@bramble-berry thanks for the fast response! I will check it out!!
Excuse me, can i use coconut oil instead of hydrating oil?
yes. fractionated coconut oil (unscented), jojoba oil, sweet almond oil- any carrier oil that is unscented
Interesting video, but using the same dropper for all of the essential oils and rinsing it off in water does not seem like a good way to combine the essential oils. Wouldn't water get into the essential oils and dilute the essential oil and blends? I would think using a pipette for each oil would be a better idea.
It's alcohol, not water
@@kimfromnewzealand8768 she should still be using separate pipettes
I would normally use separate pipettes honestly, however I know that most home crafters may not have multiple on hand.
i have lavander essential oil, how much coconut carrier oil to use on a humidifier?
Seems addictive like a cooking show lol
