About Me: I'm Kyle Le and these are the places I've been, the people I've met, the foods I've eaten, and the many things that I've seen...Originally from Southern California, I moved to Saigon, Vietnam after university and lived there for many years. Then, I traveled the world finding and documenting stories of Vietnamese people living outside of the homeland. Then I finished my master's at USC and now... well... you're going to have to follow and watch to find out!

if he didnt went to the hospital, he might not see that granny that guided him at that specific time.
Truly a blessing in disguise
I was visiting Vietnam and went to a foreign modern hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. It was 50 bucks for comprehensive health check with cray mri cat scan, blood work, etc. and the doctors are educated in France or the UK.
@@AnhH88 damn... meanwhile here in UK the health system is going downhill..

It’s that chicken bone you swallowed. Was a lucky bone lol, so you found the family so fast.
😁
thats the butterfly effect. if he didn't go to the hospital he may not have meet with the elder lady and may have spent way more time to find them

I cried when she was asking if they still remember her, they all truly love her and care so much they remember even the day she left and what they were doing.
Check back soon if you want to cry some more!!
As an American the most amazing thing about this video is the walk in two hour emergency room visit that includes wait , consultation , and x ray.
That's at least 6-8 hours here in the good old USA.
Hospital wait times are way too ridiculous... There was a time I broke my leg and had to wait two hours before I was brought back to a room and given pain meds... Shit sucked
Don't worry, the politicians say if we had globalized healthcare the time would DOUBLE! (Being sarcastic) It's not even about globalized healthcare, it's about have actually GOOD and affordable healthcare. We have neither.
Man, I would just hope it passed.
@@moze_- Your politicians are actually right. Here in Brazil the healthcare is globalized and free, but the wait times are huge, to the point of waiting months just to do an exam.
@@RevoltAgainstModernWorld It's the same anyways here too lol. Took 7 dentists to find an appointment not 5 months out, and a family doctor for regular exams? At least 2-3 months between appointments.
Edit; Oh, and now I don't have a job, so I won't seeing anyone anyone for anything at all. Or take 25-50 thousand dollar bill.
the fact shes more worried they all forgot her shows how much time she spent worried shed never see any of them again. This is one of the most heartwarming things ive seen in years thank you for what you do sir!
Congratulation to that family reunion. I myself just got contact to my family about a month ago after 50yrs too.
That is awesome! Let me make a documentary if our schedules align.
May i ask what's the point of reunion after 50 years of no contact
@@user-bg3fb3sc6g that varies from family to family. Some people might want to see people they haven’t interacted with for a long time. If a preexisting bond still exists then it doesn’t matter how long. If both relatives live and care about each other then let them reunite.
@@user-bg3fb3sc6g to not feel alone on this shitty world?
@user-bg3fb3sc6g in some cultures especially in Asia, family tree is everything. Time can pass but bloodline and connection is quite significant. ❤
I showed this to my parents. they cried so much, they left vietnam in the 80s and during that time keeping contact was too difficult. When I got older, I was able to find some family online with msn messenger. I cried so hard during that first video call. I saw so many family that recognized me since I left when i was only 1 or 2.
Wait until you see the next video you can show your parents and they will cry even more
@@kyleledotnet no :(((( we cant handle any more tears haha
@@Huyle18 Im still editing it and trust me, Im crying again and again... It's truly powerful stuff. Hopefully next week itll be up! Thank you!
You do such great work reuniting Vietnamese families and promoting Vietnam. I enjoyed your videos since Day 1. I hope you catch a break and someone realizes the asset you would be to their business. Don't lose faith, something will happen soon, you deserve it.
Just wow, the driver sure deserves a extra bonus for this one. He pretty much delivered you to the front door of the right family!
For new content, it comes when it comes, no need to rush. Rather spend more time and making sure it all looks great then have a rushed end product.
Take care brother.
The videos Kyle makes shows such a unique beauty of Vietnamese people. The fact that neighborhoods and villages have people who live there forever and really knew their neighbors really help in uniting family and friends together. Thanks Kyle 😊
I guess this is commonly shared among Southeast Asians having a tight community and family bond. This is more prominent, particularly in rural settings.
these reunion videos are always so sad but also happy.
what i find fascinating is that the older generation has told the younger generation so much about the family members and family tree that even if they are so young that they never met, they still know who this person is.
as far as vietnamese houses i've seen in rural areas go, i have to agree, their family seems to be doing much better now
Dude you need to post more videos. Just like the old days with old boy. Good times.
Good times, but unfortunately both of our lives are a lot different now. I would if I could. Thanks for watching!
@@kyleledotnetcan you at least tell us how old boy is doing with his new life as of 3/7/24? he has deleted all of his youtube video on his channel and just posted one video with an AI generated young looking selfie. is he doing ok?

born in 1988 in Norway, raised here by Vietnamese parents who came here as boat refugees. I have never been to Vietnam =( breaks my heart. I am a proud Vietnamese no matter what ppl say, Vietnamese blood and culture run through my veins and soul
It’s not too late to come back for a visit?
Wow man, what a long way to travel. . It must be so cold in Norway, I'm half Polynesian and aussie, I would freeze in Norway 😅

@NguyenAndHoel I myself was born in Rach Gia but know nothing about the place including the relatives I have in and around the town since I moved to live in Australia at the age of 5. In December 2023 was my first time visiting Vietnam and I regret not coming back to visit alot earlier
Kyle: I really felt a twang of regret that I lost in a fire the only picture/address of a lady who worked on Bien Hoa Air Base 1968-1969. Her name was Huong and was from Cho Lon outside Saigon, I lost contact when I was discharged from the Army and my buddy who was still in VietNam lost my Mothers address. I am alive today because she looked after me and helped me through some rough times in Bien Hoa. I never forgot her and think of her almost daily. Your work is the Lord's work and keep doing it; your reward is the faces and happiness I saw in this video. I wish I could have been more helpful to her and possibly made a difference in her life. Looking forward to the reunion of subject family and your future videos. Stay safe.
It's great that you're hustling, but all those gigs you mentioned aren't stable and indie/circuit filmmaking can even be a money sink on average. What about starting an agency to reunite families? Hire a few employees, and I can see you turning this into something lucrative (if there aren't tons of competing agencies like this already). You seem to be developing a nice reputation with folks seeking out your services, so you'd be skipping one of the hardest parts of starting up a new business. The family docs can naturally be part of the business. Lots of luck!
That’s what private detectives agencies are for
The full documentary is still coming!! I'm so sorry I haven't finished editing it yet, I have been extremely busy filming a few reunion videos coming up! It'll be up soon.. A week or two... I hope..
3 weeks later... are you okay?
@@monky0D0rj tomorrow!
My brother in law is a Filipino and was in Vietnam during the war.
He is in United State airforce. He was assigned to a C-130 Hercules plane that evacuate the Vietnamese babies.
Also, most Vietnamese boat people ended up in the Philippines before transfering to the United States.
There are so many Vietnamese in the Philippines after the war. The Philippines helps the boat people settle in Palawan and Bataan,
then the United States took them all in the Mainland U.S.
Thank you everyone for watching this video! I will release the full documentary as soon as I can. I am sorry I didn't finish it before my Australia trip, but I hope to finish it soon. I subscribed and hit the bell. I can't miss this one
I watched this and was amazed, and now I found you came to Australia ❤ hope your trip here in Australia was amazing
Hi Kyle. Love, love your content. Do you have a patreon or something similar?
Ride the wave. No one deserve more blessing than you do. Don't forget that.
Hi, Kyle.
I live in Vietnam now, teaching in Lao Cai. Near Sapa! I was watching your videos for many years before I came here. Thanks, man.
wow. that's far!!
I'm a Vietnamese-American myself living abroad right now and I enjoy your videos immensely. I truly hope you're able to find gigs that will fund your passion. I look forward to Cô Nga's family reunion video.
This video makes me miss vietnam so much, I went back last year after over 18 years since my first trip there. Family is such an important thing in Vietnamese culture. Good on you for helping someone with theirs.
Welcome back Kyle!
Thank you. I never left though... if you followed me on IG!
I just found your page. You’re the saving grace to these families. Don’t apologize for anything
Can't wait for your reunion video! They are tear jerkers for me. I'm 90% sure I'm retiring early this year and moving to Da Nang. Thank Kyle!
Everything was timed, from the delay of the hospital visit to the timing of meeting the old lady. Being part of a well knitted community also has it's benefits. That was also key. My neighbor next to me don't even know my name and we've been neighbors for years.
Kyle is awesome. Thank you for coming back.
Signature Kyle! Another great video of family getting back together. i love these videos!
Great job Kyle. Chokes me up everytime
Wishing you all the best from Canada! Your videos hit hard for me as a viewer, but the impact you make on the families you help with live with you till you draw your last breath... through the lows just know you have made lasting impacts and NOTHING can take that away from you.
This is your career path brother it’s what you’re good at. Keep reuniting these families you have a limited time as they are getting old. Great content!
Another good work of Kyle! Thanks for keeping us updated with your journey. You're making a difference!
Kyle you never disappoint. Thank you for another gem.
Thank you deeply Kyle this video has really touched me//to hear you see you to listen from your heart the passion you have for bringing and families together just the overall umbrella that you cover big volume. Thank you Kyle respectfully and truly your friend Leo. God bless you.
You are a great guy Kyle. Good luck to you on this journey. You are the only CZcamsr I respect who made all the most heartwarming, touching videos.
Bro, Respect! You are such a courageous and generous man.
The way the relatives spoke to each other after not meeting for decades was almost the same when I went to VN and my sisters who has been back for 20 years talked to our relatives. crazy stuff
I have family in Germany and Austria that I've never met. I remember when i was a kid, my grandpa would call my great uncle in Austria during the holidays. Our families separated during the mid 1870s so it would be seemingly impossible to find them. I just find it fascinating that even though its far removed, i still have blood family somewhere on the other side of the planet.
glad that you are back mate, we missed your vlogs - happy that u got some new opportunities and i'm looking forward to the documentary
Ur finding family series never disappointed me. Cant wait for the reunion!!!
Awe, what a heartwarming story! Thanks for doing what you do! I still remembered one of your first videos where your mom was calling you crazy for traveling to Africa to meet up with a Vietnamese guy or something like that hahaha. I love that you are still doing this and that your channel has grown so much! Cheers from Los Angeles
Yes we missed you Kyle - amazing video!
Thank you Kyle, was so amazing to hear this story in person when I met you in Da Nang too
Kyle, I love your work. I always end up crying for the reunions you do.. Bless you!
Bro, we always miss you. The best part of my day is when I come home and you've posted a new video!
Brother, this is amazing. I commend you for all that you did for this family! Can't wait to see the reunion. I promise I won't cry, but I am scheduled to cut onions for a soup I'm making so....

You’re a good soul, Kyle.. Very happy your journey is confirming your value to the world. Cheers from 🇨🇦😬❤️
So good to see you again Kyle! All the best with anything you chose is best for you! Seeing real life stories through your lens always brings a smile! :)
Tears of joy just will not stop pouring down my face. Amazing. This is nothing short of a miracle considering how long it took. Nearly instant
Tbh, as a born Australian with Vietnamese ethnicity. Like any family who survived and escaped a civil war, that includes Nam. I will never go back because I can’t imagine myself being poor and happy like the rest of them.
So you imagine yourself being wealthy and unhappy? I'm sorry I didn't get it.
@@eduantech those were your words, not mine and clearly you know how to read
Think of it this way. Lots of people in the West are lonely and feel they don't have any trust or connection with the people anymore. People are superficial and value materialistic nonsense over human connection and integrity, loyalty. Money cannot buy the latter. People move oun of communities they don't feel they belong in all the time.
People take pay cuts to be closer to families and friends, or to have a better work life balance. People take on lower paying work to not deal with horrible management or co-workers.
Those are factors as to why people can be happy on less.
Welcome back Kyle. So glad & so very happy to see your video ❤❤❤
What an absolute gem of a video. Beautiful
Post it! So happy you’re uploading videos

I loved this video! I was a baby when I left vietnam in 1979 and this year.. in April 2024, I finally went back to visit Vietnam. 45 years has passed!. I went to Da Nang and Saigon. What a wonderful experience. Vietnam is such a wonderful country and everyone needs to see it.

I really liked this video already. I just happened to watch your video by youtube algorithm. I hope I can reunite my father with his family like this as it’s been 24 years since he was last back there. Thanks for sharing this video! It was happy for me to see it.

They're the bridge connecting us with the past when information's just been lost. I have an 85 y.o. grandma in my block she's always lived here and knows EVERYTHING and everyone. She's busy recording the information with the architecture guys at a architectural and urban history center.
Vietnam is so beautiful, im so happy you found them. The communities there are amazing! Great job! 😁 I wish you well and hope you are able to do these more and able to support yourself. Doing a job you love is key!
Incredible! Goes to show you what a little drive and tenacity can get you. I know flying there was no small effort, but to think that after that the rest would just fall into place... a miracle! Lovely video, thanks for making this happen and sharing!
Bro. With these I hope big things will happen for you. Keep doing the work you can.
Man this is touching, I can’t imagine being overseas and wanting to come back home to nothing when there really is something for you to go back home to

Kyle is back!
You are doing a beautiful thing for your people. Your work is life changing. I hope people reach out to make your calling more stable. Good luck on your journey!
Hello Kyle, thanks for doing the work that you do. I'm Vietnamese and I was born in Canada. My dad left Vietnam before the war to study university in Europe but my mom lived through the war and was only able to leave Vietnam after the war ended. After all these years, both of my parents never returned to their home country. For that reason, I would probably never visit Vietnam myself, which is why I really appreciate your Vietnam videos, as well as your reunion videos, because I can experience the country through your lens. I really admire your work, and how fearless and adaptable you seem to be. I hope you find a way to be more financially stable so that you can have more freedom to do what you enjoy. Wishing you success in your future projects.
Very touching! Great job!!!!
That documentary sounds fascinating and heartfelt, I've subbed for an update. Very best wishes to you...I hope you find the path that makes you happy. xxx
