- In today's bike shop tour, we'll be taking a look at KAMIHAGI CYCLE'S new store at Meijo Park in Nagoya, Japan.

This is a brand new Specialized concept store, and actually the very first one of its kind in the Chubu region of central Japan. While the inside of the shop is not very large, it's packed with a bunch of ineteresting bikes and unique only in Japan items and jerseys.
There's also some very nice high end road bikes and TT bikes, which my wife Thuong quickly took a liking to.
Another great attraction with this shop is it's location. It's located at Meijo Park, which has it's own short 2km cycling course and has nice views of Nagoya Castle.

My last video comment I said I got a new commuter bike. It's a Specialized Diverge, gravel bike. Feels super nice and light. My first Specialized. But it was hard to give up my reliable Trek I rode to work for almost 6 years and 9000 miles. And I have 2 daughters. Go for it! They will change your life for the better.
It's hard to move on from a good reliable bike, but enjoy the new one!
I've always loved your bike shop-review and all Japan bike shop. those shops look so good at my architect's eyes include this shop. honestly ive never been a fan of Spez untill Allez Sprint rim brake came out. im working to buy that wildy ride.

I miss my knock off Venge. Fantastic bike, China frame Venge with Ultegra groupset. Love the Specialized range. Didn't catch if they had any Roubaix's in stock there, if I bought Specialized I'd have gone Roubaix

Yes for next bike, I am considering either Specialized Tarmac SL7 or Specialized Roubaix, but also Venge looks so awesome and I love how they pain for bike frame.
I think the green specialized that you liked is a emerald green color but it could be something different .

I wish they would allow the crazy triathlon bikes like the Shiv with the big sail on it for regular UCI time trials.
And I had an Allez Sport before. I kind of feel like I made a mistake not getting the Roubaix or something more relaxed back then though. I didn’t know much at all about cycling at the time and just went with the coolest looking one.
I don't understand a lot of UCI rules :/

The "sail" on the Shiv is actually where the Fuselage hydration system is housed in (which is made out of carbon, not plastic). The previous-gen Shiv housed the Fuselage hydration bladder inside the down tube, now it's behind the seat tube. This specific Shiv is UCI-illegal, so you can only use it in triathlons. However, there is a TT version 😉 and for those who are fussy about BBs, it's English-threaded.

My Tarmac has the same paint as that Shiv. It is pretty nice. Funny thing is I didn't like it that much when I first got it, butvthe price was too good (previous year model).
It's a bit of a flashy paint job, but I like it

I'm interested in the minivelo at 11:20 . I bought the Weekend Bikes 20 from Cycle Base Asahi. Have regeared it since bringing it back to Oz. Would be good if you showed people some of the choice available in cheaper bike stores like Cycle Base Asahi & Cycle Joy , they are a good option for people staying a short time in Japan or on limited budget, and better quality than depato bikes.

I didn't see the Turbo Levo or Turbo Kenevo, or any of the electric road or commuter bikes... I thought e-bikes would have been big in Japan...
Only ebike mamachari bikes are big here. Sports ebikes are heavily regulated and need to go through an inspection process which can delay domestic sales by at least 6 months..
I own a Turbo Levo and a Turbo Como, and I can tell you that Specialized would also have to put weaker batteries and motors in the Turbo bikes to make them legal in japan. That won't happen anytime soon. I took my Focus Jam squared Plus Pro to Japan and rode around for a month before I found out that it was an illegal bike. Now I am still having problems getting my batteries sent back to me in Seattle. (had to leave them with family.)

Y's Road has the biggest general selection. Not sure about MTB parts since most shops don't have much MTB stuff, but they should have most of the basics..

What were those front fork bags/mounts, Specialized? I am trying to move away from a front rack(surely) for my adventure/bike packing set up. Also, what was that scarf you showed in an earlier video. I want to try one.
I'm not sure the brand of the fork bags. The scar I showed in an earlier video is a local Korean brand, NSR, so probably not available online. There's lots of similar versions, just search cycling neck warmer.

There used to be bags for the center of the frame that extend to all 3 corners, it were massive bags that serves both as bag space and as streamlining for your bike. These days you just find the smaller versions that in general are more meant for more important things. Like your wallet, phone, keys. things of that nature. The Netherlands has a huge variety for all things bicycle related. Here a example, a bag and ideal for traveling long journey's. Yes, these bags do protect your phone and belongings it seems from the weather.
Yes I am aware you can't read Dutch, but it's just as a example, there are so many options out there that you may like to try out. Probably a good idea to show your boss as well, it's a excellent product line for Japan as well. You will be surprised of the things you can get for bikes these days.
