    Well at least he is brutally honest, so we are going to have to back the Gaffer, frankly I'm amazed he wants to stay and help rebuilt the club, for the next couple seasons whatever happens this is what we have to work with so there is no point greetin and moaning about this and that, we can be our own worst enemy at time, we need to get behind the team and try and be positive that he can turn it around..

      Spot on mate I have been waiting a long time to see a manager who is willing to give the young hungry lads a chance and is excited by it, as he said his hearts with the Club, time for everyone to get behind him and our young squad because as far as I'm concerned it will only strengthen Rangers fc. If the European clubs do it, there is no reason why we can't.

      @ianmeechan2040 anybody moves faster than Goldson fgs . The only time Goldson moves fast is RUNNING into the opposition boxes for any corner , it's also the only tune he can out jump any player on the pitch, 6ft.3 of pure garbage, the most lackadaisical, slow , overrated average player we watch , Oh , Goldson also is easily panicked when pressured on the ball .

    Got to laugh at some of our “fans” saying they’ll stop watching if Tav & Goldson don’t go. How pathetic.
    The gaffer answered those questions very reasonably including the answer about fans and fifa. The fact remains, if nobody comes in with a bid, they will stay. I’m sure the recruitment team and Koppen are actively trying to ship multiple players out but it’s not that easy…never mind the fact we don’t have the money to go out and buy all the new faces he clearly wants based on the fact he has stated in multiple pressers the need for a refresh and don’t get caught up in the number of young players, he wants experienced players to come in and improve the first team but we need to sell first. If we do, he will add those “ready made” players.
    Yes the club has been run poorly for years now and we are suffering for it but I tell you one thing, when the season starts I will be passionately supporting the team no matter who’s in the jersey…just like I have the last 50 years of my life. 🇬🇧

      @@BryanSp I will give him that compared with Beale and his used car salesman routine. I would have sacked Phil off the back of the anger of last season. Listening to him here he is being upfront, and it feels honest. It has become clear to me that times are tough and the club needs it fans backing it. Though right now I don't think he is the man, and he has a lot to prove here, he can win me over if we start doing better. That will take beating Celtic at some point this season to show he is the real deal and some real progress in how we play. Clement needs to give Celtic one in the eye and something to think about. Let's see how he does. It's time for fans to get off his back and give him a chance and the man needs room to breathe to show what he can do. He wanted preseason to improve fitness and injuries. He has got that now. He is trying to build a team within a tight budget and waiting on player movement, to add players. Any manager in deserves a fair chance.
      There are quite a few players I am unhappy with as well, but l will put it aside for the greater good. If Clement gets more from certain players and adds players who make a difference then we can all be a lot happier or at least not quite as grumpy as I am. So all in all, I am not convinced yet, but could be won over. Have at it Big Phil, get them beat and show us something this season. All the best. C'mon the Gers.

      The problem is, it's not clear what Phil is trying to do. Is he trying to build a new young side, who over multiple seasons work and build towards success or is he trying to build a title ready challenger for the new season? Most fans expect a title ready challenger, in this fan base. I would back the moulding a younger team route and would back them through ups and downs. At least it would be fresh and exciting again. If you don't have first team ready guys to improve last seasons team, then challenging for a title won't happen. So he is signing for the future right now, but is he out to win next season? If so how do you do that without that level of new personel coming in and guys thay can'thit the ground running and are not ready by his admission for this level, just yet. Clements strategy needs clearing up. If the vision is not communicated clearly for this club, and fans operate as they always have under the assumption that any manager in, is out to stop Celtic the following season and become champions, then if our manager can't build that in this window and deliver during the season, with that expectation being present, he will end up pressured and sacked if he fails to deliver.
      The one way he isn't sacked is for our leadership to ask fans to understand a vision for what we want to achieve and ask fans to back that with a young side. Not all will be on board but most would come around if they understand the club doesn't have the income to inject into a rebuild that can be filled with first team ready stars and the club sell the benefits to fans. The hardest part would be selling that vision in a time when Celtic can equal our titles and potentially surpass that. It is unlikely that would fly. To sell that, the board would need to stop keeping fans in the dark, and really start treating fans better.

    • @rangersnut
      @rangersnut Před měsícem +2

      You would be hard pushed to find any fan who thinks football contracts work like they do in video games. I thought he was actually quite patronising to fans with genuine complaints. It is typical of some managers that their egos get in the way. Fans don't know everything, I don't. I get he works with the players and knows them best but fans are a lot more educated these days and there are times when we have seen things over a long period and we are right about some things at times. Sometimes a managers ego can't allow them to admit that and they see the fans as an us vs them. So the manager sticks extra hard to his guns and then that's what gets them sacked.

      He has time. This window is it. It is do or die if he is going to stand by and play the same old faces like Tav and Goldson and others who have proven not up to it.
      How do you put out a title challenger as a manager, when the fans expect that for the season when you are recruiting guys who aren't ready for the level we play at just yet? Especially if you can't really add to what we have? It seems that answers itself. You can't. So what's the stategy or vision? Does he want fans to buy into a long term vision? How will that fly with Celtic close to equalling our title haul and surpassing it even?
