Naruto's Taijutsu improved so much by the end of Shippuden. His Taijutsu was nothing as compared to Sasuke here but by the end of the Pain Arc, he became so good at it because of the Sage Mode training.

This is one of the best scenes in the entire series.
This is where it showed that not only has Naruto closed the huge gap that was there in the beginning of the series but that he even surpassed Sasuke who was hailed as a genius and the best shinobi of his generation.

Well tbh rashengan and chidori are both powerful jutsu however it has different characteristics chidori was meant to pierce while rasengan was meant to destroy inner..
Chidori also have flaws the Rasengan doesnt. The Rasengan could be used by highly skilled shinobi given the proper training, Chidori needs the Sharingan to prevent lethal counter attack. Before he had the Sharingan, Kakashi used the jutsu once in a life or death fight, and the Fourth saved his ass. With the power of anticipation the Sharingan gives, however, the jutsu is quite strong.

Naruto has always been a chakra tank, if we go to that he would humiliate even Kakashi with the number of clones
you have to put into account that Naruto is Uzumaki, which are the people with the most chakra and also the nine tails, so Naruto has so much, that is why he can create so many clones.
Thing is rasengan is pure chakra flow. While chidori is combined with elemental chakra. Just like rasenshuriken when naruto learned it. It was limited. But on shipiuden it feels like they completely forgot about sasuke's limit on chidori

Actually in this moment there's a big gap between naruto and Sasuke. Naruto is just holding back here and also in their next fight. If naruto is serious in the valley of end he should have summoned the giant toad and blitz sasuke together. So anyone who says naruto is losing in all of their fight is just a big fan of sasuke. There's no way sasuke would win against naruto not unless it is from the first episode.
Bunta wouldn't have fought Sasuke on the sheer principal of the honor code. Summon or not. Also at that juncture, Naruto was dead set on bringing him back, NOT killing him. Plus at this juncture, Sasuke would have had Manda and Manda is still steps above Bunta. Naruto only had the element of surprise with Kurama and his determination (Will of Fire) to try to bring Sasuke back but fails because at this point Sasuke was too strong (with help from the Curse Mark). The goal of Kill Itachi was stronger than bring Sasuke back at that point of the series (Valley of the End). Symbolic more than plot.

If naruto wasn't holding back and if not for the plot hole he should use all his arsenal to destroy sasuke's body. Sasuke can't even win on gaara's half transformed. He just watch them fight on the side because he can't fight. Sasuke's taijutsu is superior to naruto but Naruto's ninjutsu is too much for sasuke. Sasuke might not be able to activate the third dot on his eyes if naruto goes all out from the beginning.

Thrice Naruto and Sasuke fought:
The first time, here, Naruto realized he almost killed Sasuke before it happened, while Sasuke saw it in the aftermath.
Second time, Sasuke, after getting a gigantic powerup before the fight (and another _during_ the fight) fighting a Naruto that had already been fighting the sound five for at least half a day, was only barely able to grab the win.
By the third time, Naruto had already grown so much as a person beyond Sasuke who was still stuck on teenage edginess that he simply did what he needed to do to save Sasuke: forcing a stalemate by countering absolutely everything Sasuke threw at him. Sasuke's realizing this, and rightfully accepting the loss, completed his own arc.
Kishimoto is a godawful writer in many ways, but at least the rivalry he did well.

The writer stated that he has always meant for them to be yin and yang like equals, he said that when one of them gets a power up another gets a power up as well wether it’s right after or like 60 eps later. They will always tie except for the final battles of og Naruto and shippuden with them versus each other. First one Sasuke won and second one Naruto won.

They we're two different jutsus in their perspective. One is a compressed chakra and wind, small damage at front but insanely damages the back. On the other hand, it's for assasination and it damages the internal and it also makes a speerlike chakra making it more deeper.

I get what this scene is trying to convey but it doesnt really work considering one technique is SPECIFICALLY stated to be a piercing move while the other functions in IMPACT.
If Kishimoto really wanted to convey the gap between Naruto and Sasuke at this moment he should of had them do a jutsu they BOTH could use and show off how much better Naruto was with it.
I think it's less of a statement that the destruction was compared here than showcasing Sasuke's reevaluation of his own progress. The real showcase here is really the inner turmoil Sasuke felt in that moment, having his sense of progress stripped away by someone he couldn't even respect at peer level, making just as much advancement if not arguably more given he himself is a natural talent, so he should naturally be stronger if he trains just as hard.
He held a chip on his shoulder that Chidori would've been the deciding factor in their dual when seeing the front of the towers, but seeing the full destructive capabilities Naruto has learned, and that the deadlock was a lot more nebulous than on the surface, left him second guessing himself and his abilities which left him feeling desperate for more power. If Naruto could go toe-to-toe with his best, he wasn't gonna touch Itachi, and he knew it.

This has al ways struck me as such a dumb scene, Rasengan and Chidori are fundamentally designed to do two completely different things. Chidori increases the users speed and maximizes wither cutting or penetration depending on if you swipe or thrust the attack. Rasengan is designed to wear away or blow away a target depending on if you keep the form tightly packed or you release its form. So of course Naruto's ability blew out the back of the tank, its what it is supposed to do. Sasuke's jab collapsed the front of the container because that is what it is supposed to do.

Sasuke saw it the first time; he had no idea how it works, how it was formed (Fireball engulfed Naruto prior to the Rasengan formation dispelling it; Sasuke's Sharingan only had 2 tomoes + still a novice on it's use), and kids throwing a temper tantrum obviously has whack brains at this point. XD
As for Naruto, he never thought anything until his teens; even him abiding by Jiraiya's will was just him wanting recognition; Nagato was the one who made Naruto's brain think maturely; you honestly think this Naruto knows what he's doing? XD
For those saying they were equals in the last fight? You're wrong. Naruto never once used his summoning jutsu. Just summon Gamabunta and Sasuke is DONE. Anyone arguing otherwise? Nice try. Sasuke stood no chance and he realised that. That's why even though Naruto fainted, Sasuke didn't kill him.
